Kroger

Oh how I miss Kroger. Kroger is so much cheaper than any of the local grocery stores in the New Orleans area. When I lived in Ohio, Kroger was my go-​to store for groceries. Milk at $ 1.99 a gallon and other items some $ 1 or more cheaper than what I can get the same items in New Orleans. This particular location was well stocked, clean, open 24 hours and even had items that I cannot get elsewhere. They also have cheap gas and Starbucks in every location. Oh how I miss Kroger.

People here hates their job, including the barista at starbucks and the pharmacy. The on shiloh is the real kroger friendly staff. Unfortunately im right across the street from this one.

Normally, I would have given this Kroger 4 – 5 stars. This one experience repulsed me:
The cheese case by the deli was literally COVERED in dead flies just 2 days earlier. I counted 30 before stopping. I reported this to the store manager who had the case cleared and cleaned. While I was there this time, they were restocking the case with the same cheeses… I assumed they would discard them. Now I am wondering what else is covered in flies in the back stockroom. The employees said there were flies everywhere because of the rain. I am not sure if I can shop here anymore… I have serious sanitation concerns. Also, since the flies were DEAD I am wondering what kind of poison you are using around food (and what the flies are transporting as they land on cheese, deli meat, and produce). It seems frivolous to buy organic in an environment like this. If I had taken a picture, the health department might have shut you down. I am disgusted!

Love love love my Kroger. I appreciate how much this store continues to make things better. This store is always clean and picked up. Just like any store at the end of a season shelves get empty but I’m sure they don’t have a lot control waiting for the new products to arrive. I recently ordered a birthday cake from them. It was a special order. Not something they had on their list. They called me several times to make sure we were on the same page. And though the cake wasn’t super nice it was good thus the 4 stars. It tasted great! And isn’t that most important?

I like that the store is brand new and clean what I don’t like is the number of expired products I have purchased at this store. I just opened a bag of flavored rice cakes I bought on April 11^th and I though the flavor was off so I checked the expired date: March 14! This isn’t the first time this has happened. More like the 5^th time. I bought lunch meat that was expired but luckily I noticed it at checkout, odwalla juice, soup, bread and I’m pretty sure the beef I bought one time was expired because it made my husband very very sick almost immediately after consuming it.
What I do like – the staff and managers are helpful and friendly. I also like the pharmacy they are more knowledgable than our local walgreens and cvs pharmacy.
But I am tired of buying expired food

I shop this store for everything. But yesterday I went in specifically for 9 dozen roses for my grandmother’s 100^th Birthday that was held today. Out of 108 roses, ONE was damaged. I could not believe it! They were beautiful and I received so many compliments on how pretty they were. For $ 10 a dozen, I was blown away at the quality. I love my Kroger!

I love this store. Great prices, great quality, and the staff is one of a kind! People that genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their job is hard to find these days. It’s hard for me to shop anywhere else now! The deli/​seafood employees are so kind, the sushi is a great deal, the pharmacy is quick and helpful, and I love their beer/​wine selection! Thanks Kroger for the best service and shopping experience.

The bakery «hit the ball out of the park» for my granddaughter’s Disney themed cake, chocolate and vanilla! Great looks to match the picture and the proof in the cakes were wonderful! What a great job by the bakers in the Bakery. The taste was perfection!

i posted too soon, so this is my edit. kroger doesnt have their act together either. told me my insurance was no good. so i call the insurance company and they said kroger ran the claim. interesting. they also tried to charge me 50% more than my insurance says i should pay.

We do all of our shopping at this Sachse Kroger. They recently changed the layout of the store which always causes temporary confusion but starting to learn my way around again. I’ve been really impressed with the butcher shop for last couple of years. The cuts of meat are always very good. The deli is very nice too with a great selection of fresh meats and cheeses. They also a very ample wine and beer selection as well.

My personal favorite grocery store!

This is a great convenient grocery store. The have a great selection of wines and coffees (even hard to find k-​cups for my keurig). I even like to stop in occasionally and pick up sushi for dinner. They have have sushi chefs inside that make it fresh and it’s always tasty!

This is a review only on the sushi section.
Right in front of the entrance is a little cute sushi section. Um, can you say YUMMY??? Geez, I love getting sushi from there!!! :)
It’s not like the «Americanized» version of sushi (if there is such a thing), they have legit sushi. They also have cute names of the different rolls like «Finding Nemo» which I thought was cutee. They also have rolls made out of brown rice, which I find to be rare in sushi shops. They also sell fresh sashimi!
So whenever you shop at Kroger, make sure to stop by the sushi shop and get some yummy, legit sushi!!! :D
You will not be disappointed!!!

Awesome Grocery store. Decent prices, friendly staff. Ready food counter and an olive/​condiment bar AND dry foods section like a mini Central Market.
