Been coming to this place for 20 years. It has great Clamcakes, Lobster Rolls, and Hot Dogs. The place is always clean, and has great service.

Some reviews on here are complaining about the staff being short with them. That is the whole point! You know what you want, you place your order quickly and in a strong voice, you get it fast and move along! Think of it as a Soup-Naziesque dining experience that allows them to keep things cheap and good and get you your food hot and fast. I recommend the burger with onion rings, but watch out, the rings are too hot to eat for about 5 minutes!

Their burgers are really good but they are incapable of cooking fries correctly. They serve them raw even after you’ve asked them to be cooked well done.

Wonderful burgers and fries… great hot dogs too. Okay so you don’t have to be a Saco native to enjoy Rapid Rays… you just have to know what it’s all about. First let me say that there are much better burgers and fries to be enjoyed in Maine but with that said I am still addicted to their food. It’s a thin burger joint… buns nicely grilled… or get the hot dogs with celery salt. It’s a place for those moments when you want an old fashioned hamburger joint moment. I definitely have those cravings… and a quick trip to Saco always satisfies that need.

Everything is just really bland. The burgers and fries look very similar to McDonalds but don’t taste nearly as good. They need to learn how season their gray meat. Very fast service. Be ready to tell them what you want on your burger. Order your fries crispy!

Still awesome, stopped in yesterday ordered for my party of five. Everyone loved their burgers and fries. Consistency at Rapids Rays is a staple. I’ve been going to Rapids for close to 30 years, food and service is always great!

Nothing Special. The staff have little to no personality so much that they could even be considered rude. The burgers are basic. It’s a simple paper thin patty on a cheap… I mean really cheap bun. The coolest thing about the place is that it’s local and its origin. To be clear I’m not a great cook but I could without question make a better burger. It’s not bad. It’s just not good.

Local nostalgic burger place. Burgers are over priced and nothing unusual, like rest of menu. Want to meet locals? This one of THE places.

To like this little slice of Americana, I think you have to be either a Saco townie or a drunk Thornton Academy boarder. The principle sounds nostalgic and fun: Paleo-fast food from the«good olé days» before McDonald’s & Burger King. Well, this place informs you that the«fast food» of the time could be just as wretched as the burgers and fries that are served to this day on the ugly Rte. 1 strip which informs most people’s opinion of Saco ME. I think my stomach spent the better part of a day recovering from the rancid fat that this joint cooks with. And I just don’t fall into the flaccid steamed hot dog camp. This is the sort of place I would love to love, but just like Harmon’s in Falmouth, the food just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Very fine burger and hot dog. Found the relish to be just a tad overpowering(unlike Harmons Lunch which is more subtle and complimentary)…would probably order without next time to fully appreciate the fine burger. In any event, very delicious and will be back. FYI… no seating inside, so you’ll have to stand or head back to your car to chow down.

Oh I wanted to enjoy the food here, but it was just gross. Clamcakes were too dry, yet oily. Hot dog wasn’t hot and my friend’s burger was plain nasty. We also saw the cook sneeze, wipe his nose, wipe the snot off his shirt, and keep on cooking! Not to mention that the older guy who took our order was hitting on me and my friend… Asking what we’re up to tonight and decidedly looking at our chests the whole time. You’re old, buddy — leave us alone –we just wanted a quick bite. We tossed out our food after a few bites and went over to Run of the Mill, instead. Skip this place!

Classic dog and burger. You feel like you’re tasting history with every bit. Make sure to know what you’re issuing when you get into line because they take the order far and the name it fast so that I it’s hit and fresh for you to eat. Some might call the dog small so don’t be afraid to order two. If you are looking for a burger, they don’t disappoint. Take some time while you eat and appreciate the history.

Rapid Rays is a Saco classic. Service is quick, food is hot and fresh. The hot dogs are THE reason to go here. So tasty on a nice warm bun. Other items on the menu such as burgers aren’t the best, but tolerable. Stop in and grab a loaded hotdog or two with a little carton of chocolate milk. It’s the best.

This place is a must for hamburger and hot dog lovers. It’s not revolutionary by any means, but it’s a homage to where hamburgers and hot dogs started. You can order things like a double cheeseburger(The Big One), chilli cheese dogs, cheese dogs, clam cakes, fries, onion rings, and a few more items. You get full choice of what they put on your dog/hamburger. They also sell some tasty whoopie pies made in the city next door, Biddeford. Stop in, and try a hot dog with some celery salt!

Awesomeness on a bun! Great place to grab a snack on the way home. Quick, friendly and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah a place to sit.

This place was alright. Rapid Ray’s is your typical old-style fast food burgers and dogs type place. Food was served fairly quickly and tasted decent. Also, the prices seemed fair. There’s no indoor seating and a couple benches outside. This place reminds me a lot of Don’s Lunch in Westbrook or Joe’s Hot Dogs in Joliet. If I lived within walking distance, I’d come more often. But since I’m farther away, I’ll likely be taking my business to other Biddeford/Saco food establishments. Rapid Ray’s is not bad by any means, but there’s just not enough there to make me come back.

Food was OK. More of an experience. This was on my 5 things to do last summer. I’m glad I did but don’t think I need to run back anytime soon. I went in a couple of days after the 4th of July at about 12:00 in the afternoon with my 9 year old son. We were the only young(and I’m 42) people there at that time. Mostly older men throwing back multiple burgers before heading back to work. I got a burger and my son had a hotdog and chocolate milk. I think my son said it best when he said it was like good cafeteria food. There’s no seating, well a couple of benches on the street but it was such a hot day we ate off the half counters that run along the exterior walls. I bet this would be a fun late night stop after a bar crawl, but for me I could get the same thing at anyone of the fast food places a little down the road for half the price.

A quick burger and fries! Similar to Harmon’s burgers in Falmouth, not quite as good though.

This place is a 1950s burger shack. Nothing fancy. Not even the burgers are that great, but they are something that I try to get a hold of when I am back in Biddeford. If you are looking for fancy burgers look elsewhere. My aunts and uncles used to drive me here when I was a little kid. We would pile in the 1968 convertible and zoom over to Rapid Rays. I was just a kid but I do remember this place being cool and fun. When you wait in line you might pop in and meet an old friend. There are better burgers to be sure, but this is a must stop place for Biddeford.
