I am so upset about my lunch order. I asked if they did salad sampler, I got rushed to order«a whole or a half» salad — the order taker pressured me into a whole. Ok, fine. I ordered the broccoli salad and tarragon chicken salad. «To Go» She did apologize for her curtness, that it was a ‘crazy day’. Ok. That’s not really an excuse when you’re in food service on a Friday at the height of lunch hour…(theory being they’d hope to be busy during lunch hour). A very short wait(hence 2 stars) the person just yelling my name out as if I were a naughty lost child. I got my order and walked back to my office(about 3 blocks). I get ready for a yummy salad and well. Yuck. The salad is soggy with mayo/dressing and isn’t fresh. It tastes like a day or so old. Yuck. Couldn’t finish $ 10 down the drain.

Quick service, and pretty good food. The one thing that stands out is their pastries, which are great! Other than that there’s nothing good or bad that stands out about Ambrosia. If you need a quick bite to eat, this is your place.

Went here for the first time for my #100coffeeswith100strangers project. I had the healthy fruit blend and it was really good. Since my photo studio is in Old Sac, i can easily walk over here for meetings while enjoying the Downtown views.

I work right next door and am very envious of the lucky customers standing in line awaiting the deliciousness that awaits them! I don’t often have a lot of time to eat, so when I do I want to make it count! This place makes it count! I have enjoyed a variety of pastries, sandwiches and beverages here and have never been disappointed. I had to make a hurried decision about lunch as they were no longer serving breakfast and I did not want to be responsible for holding up the line. I saw TUNA on the board and took a chance and ordered it, expecting that it would be so-so. It was so-so alright… so-so AMAZING! I’ve never had a warm panini style tuna melt before. I might not have ordered it if I had read the ingredients first as it came with black olives and tomatoes. I like both of these ingredients, just never would have expected to like them on a warm panini. Sometimes when you make quick uneducated decisions, it ends up being the best! I’ll be back… again, and again!

Service is friendly, but slow. Orange creamsicle smoothie was standard, not the best I’ve ever had. Just tried the summer sandwich today and it was also lackluster. With just some salt, maybe pepper, this simple sandwich would have had flavor: C

A small sandwich/deli location in the lobby on an office building. The restaurant is good for what it is. The BLT is really good and the lemonade is solid. I’m a fan based on what I ate.

Ambrosia is a hit or miss with their menu options. I’d rather not talk about that here. Instead I love ambrosia for their coffee. They serve Peerless Coffee based in Oakland. The flavored coffee varies from cinnamon nut, dark chocolate truffle, French vanilla, and many more. It’s all delicious! I also enjoy a black and white from time to time. See you in the AM!

Good coffee and affordable eats. Sometimes little café’s and coffee shops can be kind of high in midtown. I love their iced green tea. They have breakfast and lunch items. I usually get a blueberry bagel. Can’t wait to try the chorizo breakfast burrito!

I love the baked goods here at Ambrosia. Their scones and muffins are delicious. I knocked it down one star because it is a bit on the pricey side. I do like how it is super clean inside.

I ordered a white mocha and a breakfast burrito. The white mochas was terrible. It wasn’t hot and they put so much syrup that it wasn’t even enjoyable. Needless to say I didn’t even finish it. The breakfast burrito was pretty good which was why they received three stars. The burrito was pretty big and it came with fresh salsa.

Every time I come to this location I regret it. I always seem to forget how terrible the service is and try again thinking it will be better than before. The service is rediculously slow. And that says a lot because I’m a very patient person. The employees are unprofessional, they always have visible food behind the counter and are sometimes chewing when they take your order. Today was my tipping point. I ordered a green smoothie and ITWASWARM. My smoothie was warm mush. spinach banana apple mush. And even better– they made sure to tell me that they put it in a bigger cup because there was extra. This place is bologne.

I must be spoiled with the Ambrosia on K Street. This café on Capitol Mall just doesn’t compare. I should say though that the employees at the Capitol Mall Ambrosia are very friendly and kind. I’ve given this location a low rating because I’m dissatisfied each time I leave. Bummer. I find the lack of attention to this Ambrosia to be disappointing and would point the finger at the management and not the workers. Each time I go to get quiche its soggy and I wonder if it is old. I do wish they would at least make it something appetizing like sundries tomatoes or basil or anything but mushroom and onion. I am wondering if those ingredients are creating the soggy affect. Who knows… but it is gross. Get rid of it please. :) Today I decided to give this place a second shot. I checked and again the quiche is that nasty mushroom and onion so I asked for something else with egg. The $ 7 panini was suggested to me. It has egg, tomato, and cheese. Sounds good although pricey! Turns out it is a sandwich, not a panini like the kind us foodies think of. I feel ripped off at this point. I just paid $ 7 for a sourdough bread sandwich. As a paying customer I really just want to walk away satisfied from my experience and most of all, that I got my monies worth. I have not felt that at this location. Sorry guys but two stars is generous here. Hope the food improves.

Pretty convinent now that I park in this building! You have various teas, coffies and pastries if you are passing by here in the morning. They have salads and other food items so you can come here for lunch. Inside seating is adiquite though can’t handle large parties. There are a few tables and seats outside. –1 Star: Sligfhtly Pricy Slightly on the pricy side but the food quality here is pretty good.

Quick lunch. DECOR: This location is always clean and neat. I love the display of desserts. FOOD: The food is okay. I always either get the turkey sandwich or the Morning Perfect panini. I have also tried a few salads and soups. Everything is good but it is basic. I feel like the food here lacks flavor. I really want to stress that the food is not bad but it is not amazing either. I think that they just don’t put a lot of seasoning on their food which is fine. For lunch, this place is perfect. SIDENOTE: I really loved this tortilla soup they had last winter, I hope they bring it back.(Please =]) SERVICE: The staff is amazing. Everyone is always so sweet and pleasant. I went in yesterday after not coming in for a few months and they totally remembered my name and what I typically order. I just adore the staff and how friendly they are even during lunch rush hour. Overall, great place to get a decent lunch. I will be back because it is so close to my job and the staff is really nice. =]

They are located across the demolished downtown plaza next to the U.S. Bank building. The parking lot is really expensive so I suggest you to park somewhere else. The seating is very limited and they are often times occupied by business people that work in the building above them. The foods are a bit overpriced and they have a sign next to their cash registers that their prices will be going up soon. It is quite a popular place since it is right under a work building so keep that mind if you’re planning on coming here. I tend to get half a salad that comes with a slice of bread for roughly $ 6 – 8 which is on the pricier side. However, their baked goods are quite delicious when you’re on the go. I prefer their pastries over Starbucks pastries any day.

Plain and simple: Ambrosia is SLIGHTLY overpriced(as most places are!), yet delicious. Not to mention, it’s kiddie corner to tha J-O-B. Coffee runs! Definitely beats La Bou, 10 times out of 10. They are good, great, awesome. Friendly service. Clean. Great lattes… Good stuff.

I started out with another Ambrosia location years ago, but now work has me closer to Ambrosia At 621. Filled with good-smelling baked goods displayed between glass cabinets and cake plates, Ambrosia At 621 is a good place to cure a sweet tooth or have a good breakfast. I have tried three different sandwiches there, but was mildly disappointed by all of them leading to me sticking with breakfast. The Morning Perfect Panini has pleased my stomach many mornings. The eggs are fluffy, the applewood smoked bacon is decicious and not too greasy, the cheddar cheese oozes over the whole sandwich, and the sourdough bread grilled on a panini is as good as it gets. The sandwich is filling and mixes basic breakfast elements in a way that gives them a unique taste. I highly recommend it. I also enjoy the breakfast burrito. I prefer it with bacon, of course, but it is also offered with other meat choices(chorizo and maybe sausage.?). It is a very good burrito and it keeps me full for a long time. Ambrosia isn’t the cheapest place to eat, but I’ve paid more for similar meals. I’m never let down by my breakfast choices and the lemon bars are delightful. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Late work break and I needed some caffeine so I found this place just across the street. There were only four of us in the café with three persons behind the counter. I wasn’t recognized by any of the staff until I asked for a cappuccino. The man was nice and explained the number of shots for each size cup. After my order, he steps back and begins on another person’s order. After standing around without direction for a few minutes I decided to sit down. After 5 minutes my drink is on the counter. The cappuccino was alright, the service was lacking. God forbid should it have been busy.

I now come over to Ambrosia for my pastry needs on a regular basis. They have improved their service greatly, mowing down the lines and providing smiles and friendly service. With a constantly changing menu of salads, pastas, cakes, pies, pastries sweets and treats, Ambrosia stocks this place right. I only wish there were more scones regularly so I didn’t miss out some days. The zucchini bread is really good, and the thick chocolate glaze on the banana bread is a match to die for. Seasonal specials, such as the orange cranberry loaf and gingerbread scones, add a nice touch to an otherwise workaday world. They cater too. I’ve really enjoyed some of the spring/summer couscous and quinoa salads, but the others don’t really look like my thing(I’m way picky).
