Great service. I provided the booze and almost ran dry. Gerry gave us excellent advice on what to buy. The bartenders were excellent. We had two bars and 3 bartenders and all was great.

I used them for my wedding this month. There are not a lot of options on the market for bar service– I believe this is due to insurance and licensing. Zebra is the most reasonably priced in the area. They can either charge you a flat rate for service, glassware, and ice and you provide the alcohol or they will charge per guests and provide all the alcohol for you. We opted to provide our own alcohol, which was cost efficient but obviously more work in terms of scouting for good deals (go wholesale or to Costco).
I have to say that Gerry the owner is super nice and upbeat– great guy to talk to. However, you will not get a contract early on and there were small details that he mentioned over the phone regarding gratuity that ultimately did not make it into the contract. If you are able to track him down at the bar he is great to deal with but if he’s not there the regular day bartender will not be helpful other than giving you a very generalized answer about what day he’ll be back.
I’ve heard from people in the wedding industry that Zebra is known for being reasonably priced but they are a little scattered, which causes brides to stress the week of the wedding. This was my experience in dealing with them. Bottom line is that they made it on time, had sufficient glassware and ice, and their bartenders were professional. It was the lack of formality about the contract and deposit, and turnaround time with communication that wasn’t ideal. I would use them again assuming there was no new competition in the market.

Not a big fan of the older bartender there, so I just don’t go anymore. I tip generously and he just seems mad all of the time, then walks to the other end of the bar and talks with the regulars. Not really bad, but I won’t go there again. Most bartenders are at least very cordial.

We hired them for our wedding at a residence in Placerville. All of the communication with Jerry went smoothly, but we were VERY disappointed with their service on the day of the event. A few complaints:
1. The dolly used to carry the few items from their truck to bar was left in front of the bar (i.e. cocktail area). My mom had to ask them to move it.
2. The bar was moved to allow them to enter the area behind it and was never moved back. This resulted in a bar remaining in the middle of the cocktail area the rest of the night.
3. We requested 2 «specialty» drinks and included these on a chalkboard posted in front of the bar. We gave them the recipe and provided the ingredients for these drinks, yet the old lady bartender said she could not make them.
4. I (the bride) ordered a vodka soda towards the end of the night, which the old lady bartender said they were out of vodka. I found 2 full handles of it the next day with all the other liquor.
5. We paid them the «tip» upfront so that a tip jar was not placed out at the bar. They had one anyways.
6. They did not provide enough cups and guests were drinking out of red plastic cups by the end of the night!!!
7. The bar top was constantly a complete mess, filled with extra glasses.
8. They left their truck in plain site the entire night, so the truck is in many of our pictures.
Overall, for the price they charge, they did a poor job. Maybe things would have neen better had the old lady bartender not been there — guests are still talking about her incompetence.

I used the Library Galleria for my wedding reception this month and they have an exclusive list of vendors that you are allowed to use and Zebra Bar is one of only 3 bartenders that can work the receptions. I called all 3 and Zebra Club was the most responsive, personable and reasonably priced. We had an open bar for about 7 hours and our guests loved it and we had a great time. We were a little worried about some of our friends getting out of control (you know who you are!) but the bartenders always were friendly and used their judgement to keep everyone happy and not too sloppy. Jerry especially is quite a sweetheart and answered my phone calls to his personal cell phone even when in the middle of a Minnesota Fishing trip! That’s true service.
