I called in an order for steamed black bean spareribs and garlic pea sprouts. 25 minutes later I showed up and was told it wasn’t ready. Ok, I paid and waited and waited. I finally got my food 17 minutes later. 42 minutes since I called in. Ugh. I have a funny suspicion that they totally forgot about my order and scrambled to whip it up. The woman kept shouting spareribs in Cantonese to the chefs and kept telling me that the spareribs take longer to cook. I don’t buy that excuse. So for the past 3 times I’ve placed a call in order, it’s taken them over 30 minutes. What gives?!? The food is ok. Not worth the headache of the excessive wait time, lost orders, and the lame excuses.

Small little authentic Cantonese restaurant located in Natomas in one of those strip malls. We, a party o 4, came around 7pm on a Saturday. No problems finding parking nor finding a table. All Asians so it was pretty legit! Everything we ordered were really tasty and authentic. We ordered the seafood pan fried noodles, braised tofu, sui mai, the stone rice, and a couple other items. I like that the waiter would help serve the soup or the stone rice. Suffice to say, we ordered way too much food and ended up paying 20 a person including tip. I think if we ordered just enough it’ll be 15 a person so not too bad. I definitely want to bring my parents here when they come visit.

This place is amazing! Great food and good prices. Really one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Sacramento. The restaurant itself is a little small so the bf and I usually get our food to go. Pepper spare ribs and honey walnut shrimp are a must! It never disappoints!

Went here with a friend who knows her Chinese food. Me, I embarrassed her by insisting on ordering potstickers. «Is that even on the menu?» Me: It’s on the American menu. Out of our party of three, I was the only one to get the kiddie American menu. I just thought it was funny. The spouse is most decidedly not Chinese either. So the potstickers were good. I got my way. Everything else I tried was pretty good too. We had salt and pepper pork chops, honey walnut prawns, dried scallop fried rice and some sort of greens with garlic. Next time, my friend says she’s going to make me eat more adventuresome things. I’m doing better, though. Other reviewers have noted the food is greasy. Yeah, probably, but not objectionably so. This place is also tiny tiny. We had to stand in the doorway and get out of the way ever time someone had to leave. We couldn’t just stand outside because it was cold and the staff would’ve forgotten about us. They did, at one point. Then a hugggge family was seated next to us, way too close to our table. When that family left, they ended up making us move our table back away. Why didn’t they do that before? Before grandma almost put her butt on my last potsticker. Before tween girl kept flipping her hair on the table(luckily after I was done eating) and looking back at us. Don’t worry: I was giving you death stares when you weren’t looking. Anyway, reliving this as I write it: the food was pretty good and I definitely would eat there again. But would find a less busy time and insist people don’t try to put their bodies on my food. Plus, I’d still want my friend there to order in Chinese.

We called fifteen minutes before closing and the owner’s son was nice enough to honor our to-go order! He even came out to our car and personally handed us our food – A++ for service! We ordered their hot and sour soup($ 7.25), SPICY mongolian beef($ 8.95), chicken chow mein($ 7.95), and seafood fried rice with XO sauce($ 8.95). Our food was ready within 15 – 20 minutes and everything was delicious! CF Cheng’s is, in my opinion, comparable to Hong Kong Wok on Freeport Blvd. both in taste, portion size, and price! The restaurant itself is quite small and fills up quickly so I suggest either coming during their non-busy hours or ordering takeout. I’ve heard a lot of positive things surrounding their clay pot dishes, which take anywhere from 20 – 30 minutes to prepare, but have yet to try any. If I lived in the Natomas area I would MOSTDEFINITELY visit this restaurant more often! Overall, a MUSTTRY for cheap and generously portioned authentic Chinese food!

Food is served family style & the tables are too small for orders. The food is ok, not the best but not the worst. We tried the salt and pepper pork, shrimp moo shu, house chow mein, beef in garlic sauce, & tofu. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper pork!

Though the food had good flavor and was well cooked, service was good and respectful, in two separate dishes, we found a shard of metal and something that resembled a rock – a safety/health hazards. They had minimal compensation when brought to their attention – sesame balls on the house. Despite the pros – good tasting food and respectful service – the cons of finding inedible and potentially hazardous materials in two separate dishes is not acceptable in a restaurant. For that reason, they get 2⁄5 stars.

This place is by far the best Chinese we have in Natomas. Reasonably priced and pretty authentic, if you order from the Hong Kong menu. Some of my favs are the steak in pepper sauce, salt n’ pepper pork chops, and the mo po tofu. It’s a tiny spot but well worth the try!

Best Chinese restaurant in Natomas! I always come here if I am craving Chinese food… It’s a tiny little place, but the food is very authentic. You can even ask the cook to make you something if it’s not on the menu. Some of the best items they have is the salt & pepper pork chops, beef with sautéed veggies, and sweet & sour pork. But, if you want something for that special occasion, the whole lobster with noodles is a must try! Everything I’ve tried here has been very good! C.f. chengs over PF Changs! :)

Authentic Chinese food for sure ! I love the beef noddle soup, and salty fish fried rice. The price can be a little more than other Chinese restaurants around, but it s all worth it every penny !

We tried this restaurant when we back to Bay Area from Tahoe. Fresh, tasty and excellent! Never ever find such good one at bay area.

Seriously disappointed. I should have gone to Raleys. This is not a $ 6.95 lunch. The best thing I can say… the rice was tasty. The restaurant was very cluttered. No room for someone on a wheelchair or a walker, I had trouble navigating with a large purse. They up charge $ 1.00 for fried rice or chow mein, you want both, $ 2.00. I won’t be back. This was a one and done for me.

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Chinese food. The reason being because it is usually greasy and lacks flavor. This place, however, is probably the ONLY place I will go to in the Sac area for some Chinese grubbin’. The trick is to ring someone that either speaks the language or knows Chinese cuisine! They have two menus. One in English and somewhat more tailored towards the«American» taste and another that is completely in Chinese and features some more of the exotic items(pork belly and chicken feet). It is a tiny place and usually fairly full but they give you free soup(always different each time you come in) and it is warm, simple and delicious with bran meat and veggies. I had the honor of meeting The chef-owner. He keeps his busy shop tiny because he likes being able to control quality of the food he puts out. He’s obviously very proud of what he serves and he should be! If you come here, please order anything that you wouldn’t find on a Panda Express menu and you won’t be disappointed. The BEST part to me is their homemade chili sauce that you can LITERALLYPUTONANYTHING! It’s got bits of dried shrimp bits and roasted chili in oil and amazingness. I would BUYTHATINGALLONS if I could(sorry, is my Thai showing?) Well done Mr. Cheng. Well done.

5+ times visit here! We need to go for a show at the arena so we asked for a quick service and the dishes were ready super fast! No need to compliment the dishes! Highly recommend!

I am total foodie and this place cooks some tasty Cantonese-style Chinese food. I asked the waitress for a seafood dish for one, and she recommended the stir-fried prawns with special noodles. The dish was the bomb and it was SO big, I ate over of it and it still looked like I barely touched it. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Chinese Food in Natomas, definitely. Maybe best in Sacramento, we always order a dinner A or B and it is always enough for the two of us for dinner & lunch the next day. The people are always nice, the clientele is always Asian people, you know the food is good if there’s always Asian people in there. Hahaha Anywho, this place is awesome. The chow mein is so good, And the lemon chicken is awesome too. Love you CF. Chengs!

NEVERAGAIN. ANABSOLUTELYBALLSCRATCHINGHORRIFYINGEXPERIENCE. I don’t even know where to begin. But I guess it started with our server. A bitter old woman who only knew only one word: No. Then it was the guy bussing tables. Banging dishes, yelling to the kitchen, and making more noise than I thought possible. The patrons were just as bad. Every possible bad table manner was present. Talking with mouths full of food, chewing with mouths open, eating with hands(on food that should be eaten with some sort of utensil) and I saw one guy, to my horror, reach inside his shorts to scratch his balls, and then continue eating as if it was no big deal at all. And lastly, one of the server/owner/manager personnel was wearing running attire. You know… spandex stretch pants that revealed much more than they should have, Nikes, etc. I’m just baffled. And it sure looked to me that if you were Chinese, you were getting served immediately. But I’m white and my wife is Japanese so I guess we don’t rate. Drinks were never refilled… we had to ask for everything. Just every bad service cliché in the book. And we haven’t even gotten to the food yet. Sizzling rice soup: 0 Stars Quite possibly the worst version I have ever had. Most versions have 3 proteins: shrimp, chicken, and pork. Theirs had only shrimp that were very small, and not cleaned properly. The veggies were bitter. The rice didnt sizzle… it sogged… and the soup sucked ass. The shrimp were not fresh… definitely frozen. Eggplant In Garlic Sauce: 0 Stars The skin was super tough and the sauce was horrible. Beef with String beans: 0 Stars Fatty beef cooked with what tasted like MSG and corn starch. The string beans were almost raw. Horrible. Har Gow: 1 Star I thought it was ok… my better half said it sucked. So all in all, we absolutely hated this place, the personnel, the patrons, and the food. It’s safe to say we won’t return. And since they got all racial on us, here are my final thoughts: get your shit together. Your food sucks. Your personnel suck. Your service sucks. And therefore your restaurant sucks. If your restaurant went out of business tomorrow, I would applaud because the experience you gave me and my family was horrifying. You should be ashamed of yourselves. And I proudly left you a big fat ZEROTIP so FYVM.

DONOTGOHERE unless you want to live like you’re in the lord of the flies. No service, confusion, chaos, kill or be killed. Go to the Thai place instead and, no I don’t work for the Thai place. Since this place changed ownership the food quality has deteriorated and the service has become nonexistent.

So far I’m not impressed. When I walked in the staff was sitting around eating. They were sucking on animals parts, that while I’m sure they were enjoying their meal, it would have been nice to have been greeted. My order isn’t ready. I asked about sauces for one of the dishes. I’m pretty certain that sauce should come with it. I was told no. While tempted to run like the wind… Giving this a chance. Fingers crossed. Food review This isn’t nothing to get excited about. Really. It’s pretty average. Almost fast food tasting. But costlier. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend this place? No. Was it horrible. No. Nothing here to see.

The BEST Chinese restaurant in Natomas! Hands down! CF chengs has great service! The chefs are wonderful and the head chef comes out and greets everyone! Even if he doesn’t speak much English, he makes a great effort! CF chengs is not the largest Chinese restaurant but the food delivers! You must order from the«authentic Chinese menu,» because that is where the real good stuff is listed! The clay pots are excellent! In case you are not familiar with clay pots, the rice or noodles are cooked in a clay-pot and it comes with different meats or veggies! Also, if you get the rice clay-pot, it comes with the best sauce!!! My favorite clay-pot is the steamed spareribs or the Chinese sausage that comes with Chinese broccoli! Here is some advice: if you want to get a clay-pot, call in 20 minutes before because it takes that long to prepare BUT it’s worth the wait! Also, if you like shrimp, they have really good types of shrimp! One good shrimp dish is called the«superior shrimp» which is jumbo shrimp with an amazing sauce! You first suck the sauce off and then eat the shrimp! I highly recommend that dish! Another wonderful shrimp dish is the garlic shrimp over clear noodles! This dish has great steamed shrimp with minced garlic over clear noodles!!! These are the 2 best shrimp dishes!!! Other good dishes here: Salt and pepper ribs, fresh chicken salad with jelly fish, steamed pork with a salty egg over it, beef stew egg noodle soup, egg white with minced pork, and last but not least: sautéed pea green with garlic!!! That is the best veggie dish here!!! Everything I just mentioned is wonderful!!! Trust me! I’ve here many times!!!
