Discovery Tree School

My daughter started in the toddler program at the P Street location and we have loved it! Sue, Trish, Kristin and Sarah are all incredible and make us feel so welcome. Our daughter is so excited to go to school, which gives us great peace of mind throughout the day.

We both work, and got 24 hours notice that they were «terminating» our 3 year old (i.e., asking her to leave). No working with special needs, no reasonable accommodation. This all happened because my child was promoted out of the toddler room when we were VERY clear to management that she was not ready for it.
They have HUGE turnover; if your child has trouble bonding or with attachment, this is not the place for you, as you cannot depend on the staff not to change every month or two.
The only thing I can say that is great about this place is the staff in the infant room and toddler room. The «director» is constantly arguing with staff, and the board doesn’t do anything but rubber-​stamp her decisions.
The outdoor area is tiny and cramped … there are plenty of other places in the area that are less expensive and have less turnover, more qualified staff, and nicer physical plant.

My daughter has been at this location for about 2 months now. She was originally in home day care. When we decided to switch her, we were worried how well she would do. Crystal and her team made the transition so easy! It felt like we had always been there. My daughter has learned so much and has grown in so many ways! My only wish is that we would have transitioned my daughter sooner!

My son has been at this DT location since he was 3 months old. The teachers and director Crystal are patient and caring and helped ease my concerns as a first time parent leaving her baby for the first time. The kids go out on field trips and stroller rides frequently. New themes and projects each month keep the kids engaged. I would highly recommend this facility for parents in the downtown Sacramento area.

If you are two working parents (or a single income household) and you like being given ONE DAY before a childcare service cancels you, then then this is the place for you.
