Great food and highly recommend the fries. Beer selection is primo. Location is nice and would recommend for a small group.

We really love Duke’s for a number of reasons. First, Alex knows what my friends and I like beer-wise and often times, he will pour first and let us know what we are having. It’s a fun way to try new things. Also, the staff is very informed on the product selections and the flavor profiles. TRY any beer before you buy because you may not like it as much as the beer pros at Duke’s do. The food started out as just okay when they opened and has gotten progressively better over time. For a small kitchen, they are able to put out a nice variety of menu choices and compelling special dishes. All ingredients seem very fresh and high quality. Service-wise, it’s a friendly team approach so if one server is busy, another Duke’s server will take care of you., I have never felt ignored or thirsty. Parking is good. There’s a nice patio out back with cornhole. The vibe is family-friendly, which is great for the surrounding Arden Park community and its endless supply of kids, mine included. I have read a couple of «off reviews» from Unilocalers. We are there at least once or twice a week and the experience is consistently great. Don’t listen to the one-offs.

Got the macho nachos. could’ve made it myself at home. except I would have added beans. This place is probably good if you get a burger and beer so maybe don’t listen to me.

The bossman asked if I wanted to accompany him to lunch one weekday afternoon to Dukes and I happily obliged because: 1. It was a new place for me that I didn’t have a Unilocal review on. And 2. I’ve never been one to turn down a free meal. Parking was easy because there is a big lot. They have a cute little outdoor patio in front,(it only has two tables) but it’s covered which is nice. I heard the back patio is larger but I didn’t have time to explore. Inside the place was packed for lunch and it was LOUD. Really loud. So uncomfortable that we left our table inside to find one on the front patio. I ordered the Veggie Burger and it was good. Standard veggie patty, but good bun. It was a little dry though even though it came with a special house made sauce because I received literally ONE teaspoon of the sauce on my burger. Our other dining companion asked for a side of another one of their house made sauces and was given HALF of a small container of the sauce. Our server said that the cook is stingy on the sauces. That was obvious, but why did my burger have to suffer? It would have been 10x better if I could actually taste the sauce and it wasn’t so dry. The fries on the other hand were really tasty and cooked perfectly. My boss had the Smoked Gouda Burger which he enjoyed(it was huge!) and our dining companion got the Hot Pastrami on Rye which he loved. They have a good craft beer selection so I got a Watermelon Ale which was outstanding! I wish I remembered the name of it but it was really refreshing. I would come back and recommend it to friends but next time when I order my Veggie Burger(only Vegetarian thing on the menu) specify that I want a decent amount of sauce.

Upon arrival I initially thought their sign said Pilates and Pints. I thought, now there’s an idea! Beer selection was extensive. I ordered an Eye of the Tiger from Twelve Rounds, absolutely amazing followed by mooching some of the Monsters’ Park flight from my man, washed down with a Booming Rollers from Modern Times and a Watershed from Fieldwork. This was the start of our Memorial Day festivities, and it was a great spot for a perfect sunny day. The burger and garlic fries were absolutely amazing as well. The only constructive criticism I could give is for them to not serve their beers in frosted glasses/pitchers as this keeps the beers from warming up and blooming with flavor and can also water down your beers. When drinking a Coors or Bud, you want it as cold as possible but with the nicer craft beers, you get more flavor sans frosted glass. However, it’s worth noting that they serve pitchers of select craft beers, which is not an option at most other beer spots and may be an attractive option if you’re with a group. Otherwise everything else about my experience was darn near perfect. Great service, plenty of space to sit comfortably both inside and outside on the patio. Definitely coming back soon!

This was my first time at Dukes and it will absolutely be my last. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Dukes while on her lunch break. It was a Tuesday and about 12:05. As we walked in we noticed it was dead, only one guy was sitting at the bar. We thought to ourselves this is awesome since we were just on a lunch break. We were greeted immediately by our server, I don’t remember her name, and placed our drink order(Ice teas). While she was getting our drinks we thought this would be a place we’d love to come to again when we had more time. Our server came back and my girlfriend ordered the Duke Burger(cooked medium well) with regular fries and I ordered the special of the day, A smoked Gouda Burger(cooked Medium) they had advertised on a board outside as you come in. I opted to pay the $ 1 extra for garlic fries. As we waited we noticed more people coming in(still not crowded) and thought that is was a good thing we got there when we did. Again on a lunch break. This is where things took a turn for the worse. We noticed a guy, in shabby jeans and an old tee shirt. It looked like he was helping himself to things behind the counter. Turns out he worked there and a server as well. I couldn’t believe it(i’ll come back to him later). Then we start hearing a woman in the kitchen complaining about just about everything. We were sitting away from the bar, so it was loud enough for everyone there to here. Now 20 minutes has gone by since we sat and ordered. No ice tea refills and everyone in the restaurant had their meals and was eating. Again, only one other customer was there when we arrived. Our original server come back finally after 25 minutes to drop off condiments and I told her I though she forgot about us. She didn’t say anything and finally brought tea refills. I keep seeing orders taken out and so I go to the counter ans ask if they could please just make our orders to go since we’ve now been sitting there for 35 minutes on lunch break. She says OK, and we then we get our orders, not to go, by an guy named Adam(the guy in shabby jeans and old tee shirt). I ask why we waited behind everyone else and he says sorry. My girlfriend starts to ask why the delay and he just begins to walk away. I told her he doesn’t care, look at him walk away. He then stops and says, «I’m standing right here». So my girlfriend starts to ask and he just walks away. Our original server comes back to us and says sorry, there was a problem in the kitchen(yeah, we heard). She should have noticed we were still waiting after serving others and told us there was a delay. We boxed our food up and decided to eat in the car at her office. Her burger was cooked to order, but the regular fries are actually seasoned fries. My burger was supposed to be cooked medium and it was beyond well done. My Garlic Fries were just the regular season fries with a little chopped garlic over them. As far as Pricing, WAY over priced. Her Duke burger and fries $ 13.99 for a $ 8.99 burger, and I’m being generous. Mine, the one on special, $ 14.99 with the garlic fries. What was special about it? Just because it wasn’t on the regular menu? Usually the special comes at a reduced price. They comped the tea and our bill was $ 31.52. Ridiculous. I hope this review helps prevent someone else from getting a similar experience.

Really liked this place! First time try and was pleasantly surprised :) atmosphere was good, friendly and prompt staff. I ordered their special which was a smoked gouda burger with a house salad. The salad had a light and yummy vinaigrette which almost made me regret not ordering a salad for my meal, but then I tried my burger. It was super tasty, perfectly cooked to order and went fantastically with the local New Glory Cranberry Berliner Weissebier. The dressing on the house salad was a delicious vinaigrette. Overall super pleased. Loved that they had folks a great selection of local beers(esp. sours) in bottles and on tap. I saw some folks write reviews about the pricing and had some concerns but $ 30 for dinner and two beers was not out of my realm of reasonable pricing. Will do this again.

Definitely a cool place to eat and drink. They have a huge outdoor patio in the back, which is closed off to the street with a good amount of seating. There is also a small patio in the front add well, with minimal seating. All staff were very friendly and decently accommodating, although no one ever came to refill waters. Attention to detail is key, as a server. But the happy smiles of the workers made it OK. I went on a Thursday because Modern Times brewery was showcasing some of their Stouts. Coconut, vanilla, coffee, and bourbon stouts. I ordered the Duke burger with fries extra crispy to pair with the beer. Was a very tasty burger… because BACON! Others at the table ordered the cobb salad which seemed a little small for a full order. And street tacos which seemed to lack Pico de gayo and cheese. But had lots of meat. In all, I would go back again.

Probably because of the prime location they can justify the prices but… Really overpriced on beers and food. The portion size on the food is small and its the usual bar fare. Nothing really stands out. The food is really forgettable. I’ve been here a few times and tried the pulled pork nachos, b.l.t., burger, and tacos. For burgers or tacos you can find much better by driving with your eyes closed with no hands on the steering wheel and just running into a random restaurant. Also ordering a pitcher is the same price basically as ordering all the pints seperately. No break. Its a chill location but the service is meh unless your sitting at the bar. 2 stars because its a clean place, decent service, and they didn’t really mess up on my order but the food was mediocre and for the price terrible value.

The place was slow. The service was slower. Nobody checked on me once during my meal. I didn’t have the opportunity to tell them that the burger that I ordered medium came out well and burnt. Very disapointed. My first visit was positive. After this trip I will not be back.

Service is prompt and friendly. Seems like a nice neighborhood pub. We are splitting the Dukes burger and fries. They have a good beer selection, and the place is clean.

I really had high hopes for this place. I’ve been to dukes about a half a dozen times and the service and food just seems to get worse. Service. If you’re sitting on the patio the service is nearly non-existent, on more than one occasion I’ve had to go inside and ask for somebody to come out to take our order, or refill drinks. Food. Mediocre at best, usually served cold and never really sits well after. there is so much potential for this location! i really wish the food and service were better!

Third time at this establishment was not a charm. Lots of craft beers on the menu but not a thoughtful selection. Too many overly complex flavors and not a good variety of styles. What really irked me was that I choose a beer that sounded good but when I got it the manager /maybe owner told me how much he hated that beer and that he thought if was«awful». After four slips I agreed that the aftertaste was horrendous. Asked for another drink as it was undrinkable. Was reprimanded that next time to ask for a taste of any drink I was unsure of before ordering. Drink was taken and replaced with something else that was quite good. When I got the bill I was charged for the original drink order AND the replacement. When the manager agreed that the beer was truly awful and took a full glass away, it shouldn’t be charged to the customer. Also he later came by the table and I thought he asked if I liked the replacement drink and I said yes. A few minutes later he shows on with another glass of the same drink. I explained that I didn’t want another but thought he was asking if I liked it. Drink was left at the table and I was charged for it. A bit strange that I was charged for three drinks when I really only wanted one. Seemed more focused on pushing drinks than real customer service. Food was ok but nothing truly special. Presentation is a bit pretentious for a basic burger and sandwich place. Third time I tried it and haven’t been impressed any of the times.

Kind of a one trick pony, but a damn good trick at that. They have a small menu, but everything on it is well prepared, fresh, and tasty. I enjoy their hamburger«the duke» the most, although their homemade ranch type dressing on a salad is very good as well. The true star of the show is the selection of beers on tap. For a small menu of food, they have a large menu of beer. Come here when you want to try something new on tap.

Great spot, used to be a Beach Hut Deli, I’m glad to see a new business at the location. I had the brisket burger with bacon and cheese, loaded fries on the side. The burger was good, huge pattie with thick and crispy bacon on a pretzel bun. The meat was tender and dense on account of the brisket cut, but the beef itself wasn’t flavorful. The loaded fries had cheese, green onions and bacon on big thick steak cut style fries. The fries and burger were both good. They have regular ketchup, but they also have a red bottle and yellow bottle. The red bottle is house made ketchup, more like a steak sauce/ketchup hybrid and the yellow bottle is house made mustard, dark, whole seed and sweet. They also have a house made dill dressing that I dipped my burger in. I’m a big condiment guy so I’m all for the house made sauces but the yellow and red bottles weren’t labeled. If you think you’re squirting Heinz on your burger and you hit it hard with house made steak sauce, that could be a problem. They have a big patio with tables and corn hole. I wasn’t able to partake because I was on my lunch break, but they have a great tap selection with a variety of craft beers. I’ll be back for some corn hole and beers.

Dukes serves up delicious plates and refreshing pints in a friendly and fun atmosphere. We stopped at Dukes on Sunday to grab a snack and a couple beers. As we entered, we were promptly greeted by the friendly staff and found a great table. Our server guided us thru the selection of tantalizing local brews, and raved about a new arrival from Drake’s. I sampled a few and we made our selections before placing an order for some wings. Everything came out quickly and hit the spot! Our server was super friendly and stopped by frequently to make sure we were doing OK and chatted about our beer selection. Between check-ins, we enjoyed the great music: green day, sublime, cake, bloodhound gang, and many other favorites from back in the day. If you are looking to grab a great local craft brew and some delicious food, head on over to Dukes… you will not be dissappointed!

Dukes Plates & Pints is our new go to spot for lunch and a beer! Or even just a beer! Dukes has a great beer selection that is always changing! You will always see Tap Takeovers from a ton of different breweries so you never know what to expect when you walk in the door. The food is pretty amazing too! My favorite item on their menu is their pulled pork nachos. Yum Yum Yum. These nachos have a ton of toppings and they make sure you have enough cheese, pork and other yummy stuff for every bite. I hate it when you get nachos and the toppings only cover the first layer of chips and you’re left with a bunch of plain ones on the bottom. The service has always been great every time we have come. They greet you quickly and make sure you have everything you need! If you haven’t been, Dukes Plates & Pints is a great place for lunch and a beer!
