I will only eat at El Pollo Loco when I have a coupon as they are very over priced for what you get. I had a coupon for a free 2 piece combo meal so in I went. I received ½ a thigh and a drumstick. I think they cut the breasts in 1/3’s too. The sides were OK and honestly the chicken is good, but not worth what they charge for it. I ordered a side of chips and guacamole and the guac was turning dark from being in the fridge too long.

Super slow. I mean it’s really slow here. I only go on Sunday’s now because it is so slow. The food is good, and I think the food is good. The review is based on how the service.

They always forget avocado on my burrito. They always charge me a dollar for the avocado that they do not put on my burrito. Today, I ordered the avocado on my burrito at the speaker. When I got up to the window, I asked Maria if they had got the avocado. She said they did not. I asked her to put it on. She said ok. My total went up a dollar in price. I was charged for the avocado. I got home. There is no avocado on my burrito. I called in and spoke to the manager. She said, to make it right, I could come up there and pick up the avocado and the tortillas missing from my daughter’s kid’s meal. Like what three slices of avocado and two flour tortillas. Drive back up there for that? WHAT A JOKE. I would go to a different one. Especially if you love your avocados and guacamole as much as I do.

Came by myself on a Thursday afternoon around 12:30p. Only 1 person ahead of me, about 5 other groups in the restaurant. Went in there to redeem a coupon for a free salad. Nice service and it was a coupon from a phone, did not give a fuss. Food tasted like any other El Pollo Loco. Seating was good. Spacious, air conditioned on the inside, provided free water cups. Variety of tables that can seat 2/4, and has outdoor seating and a drive through. Nothing out of the ordinary so just average hence 3 stars. Would not mind coming back. Living in Elk Grove these is 1 of 2 closes El Pollo Loco places. Have not tried the one on Elk Grove Blvd for comparison.

I was on my way to work and decided to grab something quick to eat. So I ordered the pollo bowl went to the window, paid with my card and THANKFULLY you have to sign the receipt afterwards because my total came up to $ 42 something. That was fairly high for just a bowl and two churros. Turns out the order was mixed up somehow but stuff like that happens. My only complaint was that they didn’t even say sorry for THEIR mistake AND not only that the lady who who handed my food didn’t even give me my drink. I even told her. My mood and tastebud went downhill. At this point it wasn’t even worth to try to ask for it anymore. Place is ok just really try to work on customer service. SMH

On Saturday, 5÷10÷14, my girlfriend, Mom, and I went out to Sacramento. My girlfriend’s family lives out in Sacramento and we were attending her nephews 6th birthday party. We had a nice BBQ planned but for some reason the whole entire week I was craving El Pollo Loco. So before diving in and enjoying some good BBQ food, I decided to sneak in an extra cheat meal for lunch. The last and first time I’ve ever tried El Pollo Loco was when I was in middle school, almost 20 years ago. I remember eating a chicken meal with tortillas. At the time, I remember the chicken being very juicy, packed with a lot of flavor. Well, things have changed. Here’s how it went. Atmosphere/Décor: I’m from the bay area. I was born and raised in the bay area. There are some areas in specific cities that I will not go to because there’s a high chance of something bad happening. El Pollo Loco is located on Mack Road. Mack Road is super ghetto! As my girlfriend and I pulled up to El Pollo Loco, I said to myself, «Is this chicken burrito and chicken bowl worth getting robbed for? Shoot, I’ll take the chance.» From the outside, El Pollo Loco looks like your typical fast food restaurant. Nothing special. The inside of El Pollo Loco was like any other fast food restaurant. Similar seating and arrangements of the condiment bar and soda machine. The temperature was very cool inside which I liked. Food: I decided to go with the Traditional Chicken Burrito. The burrito wasn’t that bad. It had chunks of chicken, cheese, pinto beans, and rice. The tortilla tasted pretty good. The burrito was definitely better quality compared to a burrito from Taco Bell. I also ordered a chicken bowl. The chicken bowl was disgusting. The chicken was super dry! The pinto beans and rice tasted very bland. The guacamole and sour cream seemed as if it was processed. It didn’t taste good at all. There was no freshness to this bowl. There were also a few pieces of lettuce in the bowl which became wilted. Service: The service was really good. The lady that took my order was very nice. My food was ready in a few minutes. Overall: I will never go back to El Pollo Loco. I was craving it the whole weak and it was a huge let down. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Maybe I should of ordered the chicken meal. The chicken is definitely not loco, it’s dry and dry and drier.

Customer service can be improved but LOVED the food! We came in and sat down very clean place felt a little uncomfortable when someone is cleaning right next to you while you are eating. I didn’t see a lot of people in the restaurant thought … kinda dead looking.

Drive thru slow as hell! Must’ve came at a time chickens were being slaughtered. 3 cars ahead and total wait time 35+ minutes. I could’ve made my own damn citrus marinated chicken in that time. 4 stars for the delicious chicken. Minus 1 for the terrible drive-thru

Super reasonable catering prices! Employees and management were very accommodating and prompt. The Mac n cheese and churros we ordered were the most popular.

I have been meaning to write a review for this place for quite some time. I frequent this location a lot. The food is almost always delicious. Although there have been a few times when I have gotten old lettuce or old brown avocado. Other than that the chicken always has a good taste. Overall the food is great! My only complaint would be the fact that they always give me a hard time when i request more salsa. They never give enough salsa and then when you ask for more they cop an attitude, on a few occasions they even charged me extra for salsa that is supposed to be free. On two different visits they forgot to include some of the items that i ordered, which is why I always make sure to check the bag.

I’ve been to El Pollo Loco twice, this visit being #2. So far, so good. Ordered a combo #3. Looked enticing enough and simple. Chicken, a bowl containing the fillings to make a chicken burrito. Chose corn tortillas(you get 2). The bowl was full of stuff! Definitely enough to fill 4 tortillas, but note the tortillas are as big as the bowl’s lid… 5 inches in diameter. Yummy nonetheless. The chicken was grilled and moist. That’s the most important part. If you get rubbery chicken, forget about it. You’re more likely to get TMG than a full stomach. I threw a bit of everything on the tortilla, rolled it up and chomped away. Good stuff! Surprisingly filling and unexpected. Oh, yeah— got green salsa that looked like a liquidy guacamole, but don’t be fooled. It’s not even close. Refreshing taste worked well with the chicken. Red salsa came with the order too. Let’s try that… Nope. Tomato spicy. Not for me. So, back to all the other stuff. Good stuff. Yummy stuff. There’s a lot of other things on the menu. My first visit was for chicken strips. Yum! Check this place out for yourself. It’s worth it. The people at this specific location are super friendly… And they’re actually smiling!

Haven’t been here for years and after eating it for dinner, it reminded me why. The chicken was dry and hardly had any taste. The flour tortilla was chewy, but it was warm. The Spanish rice was hard and bland… But here are a few good things. the mac’ n cheese is pretty good. It’s kind of soggy but very cheesy. There is a salsa bar with a selection of guacamole, hot chili sauce, plain salsa. other condiments include jalapenos, cilantro, chopped onions, and lime slices. My memories of this place was better as a kid. don’t think I’ll be coming back here.
