I LOVE their «under 500 Calorie» Double Chicken Salad — my new addiction!!!

I really like the chicken, all the salads with cilantro dressing and the spicy salsa here. The customer is okay, I think it’s a hit or miss but it’s not bad. I do think the chicken is kind of salty but their food is fresh tasting for a fast food place.

I’ve been here so many times and every time I do seriously ask why. The staff is so RUDE. Food is good but customer service is what makes you have a great experience as well right? Management needs to consider getting new employees. One on Madison Avenue has a way better atmosphere/​employees and it’s way cleaner.

This place is pretty good when you want «healthier» fast food. My favorite is their double chicken & avocado tostado with cilantro dressing. So delicious! Plus it’s always clean and their costumer service is good.

The chicken taste great as always however, I have never received chicken portions so small. Definitely don’t feel like I got what I paid for. Also, I asked for green sauce twice, once when I ordered and once at the window. I only got one half of a container of green and two reds that I never asked for. No napkins, so when it came to clean up the soda that was thrown at us spilled in the car we have nothing to clean it up with. Could of had better service.

2÷4÷2016 My employee Rachel Lee shared her chicken tostada salad with me, it was from El Pollo Loco. It was alright, nothing to brag about. I think it needs more seasoning. Gave the salad to my dogs Hi-​Pee and Hannah.

This place is desperately in need of a new communication system. I could barely hear the lady in the drive through.

I haven’t eaten at a El Pollo in a while. The last time was in San Diego many years ago. The food didn’t impress me so I never went back. This one was better.
I had a burrito and it was good. I ordered some chips and salsa. The counter person said the burrito came with chips so I didn’t ask for a side order. Well it did have a few chips but not that many. I wanted a BUCKET of chips and salsa. I get hungry ok.
The food was decent for fast food. The burrito tasted good and the chips were nice and crunchy. I think the salsa bar had a good selection of salsas. Chip confusion aside, it was a pretty good experience. Much better than the red headed step child of the chain in San Diego!

This place has the best shrimp tacos I have ever had the pleasure of putting into my mouth. The sauce they use is superb! I hear the shrimp and chicken sandwiches are devine as well.

Ok so here goes… First of all, I used to love this location but it has rapidly plummeted to an absolute nightmare. I am a very frequent customer because of the healthier options it has for fast food, so it’s not just an isolated situation. The management at this place has to have changed, because it is a marked difference. The food tastes fine but the service is awful! They used to carry jalapeños, then they stopped, then they had them sometimes, and every time I got a different story. why? Well it now appears that as a «Mexican» restaurant they have taken them off the menu??? (Probably a white corporate dude’s idea) Really??? What next? The tortillas? Oh but don’t worry, they have replaced the with FRESH SERRANOS! Wtf?! Let’s not forget that they can never get an order right. I have 3 receipts on my fridge from my last visits where on each occasion they messed up. One visit they forgot the burrito, the next the avacado on the avacado salad, the next time they gave us the wrong order. It never stops. I finally got accustomed to their jalapeño sauce packets (Taco Bell salsa is better), and last time I went they were out. No sorry, or anything. If you look at my reviews I rarely go off but this place is a wreck! The only reason I go there is because of the limited options here. I called and left a message for a manager to call and no one called back. It looks like they really don’t care too much. Hope nothing better comes around because I am out!

This place suuuuuccckkss, everytime I go and ask for a large of house salsa they always have a different price, it’s either $ 2.00 $ 3.00 or $ 5.00 nobody knows what there doing, then one of the girls said we have to charge you for the cup, really if you had an education you would know that the Styrofoam cup didn’t cost but 2 cents you idiot!!! Anyways this place sucks even the manger had no clue!!:(

The service a always good and the food is cooked right. The down side is that just about every time I am in this place the salsa bar needs help. Either they are out of something or it needs to be cleaned and wiped down or the cups need to be filled. When I am in the area and hungry this on my stop for lunch list!

I think this pollo loco is clean and has good. Had great salsa. Pollo loco is one of my go tos when I’m in the sacramento area. It is pretty healthy and the sauce tastes fresh.

This place use to be good but their management sucks and how you gonna get rid of the best crunchy tacos and now the nachos… WTF…it was still on the menu so I ordered it when I get to the window the girls were like this is the last time we can do nachos we just got yelled at and they were apologizing. it’s not their fault take the shit off the menu and the manager needs to stop being an asshole!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. We were in line before 10:00. They couldn’t tell us that they had closed or apologize for the inconvenience. They took the order of the car right in front of us and completely ignore our car. Terrible customer service. Totally rude.

I must have driven by this place 50 times without giving it a thought, but I couldn’t help but notice how the place always seemed to be packed. About a year ago, I tried it, and it’s absolutely entered my lunch rotation. While it’s in the good company of plenty of other Mexican food places, it has absolutely edged out the competition in the «fast food» category.
The chicken, simply, is fantastic. Forget ground beef, pollo is the way to go. Their burritos are good, their tacos salads are good, their quesadillas are great.
They occasionally run a special with another type of meat. I’ve enjoyed their seafood offerings and their beef offerings for a change of pace, but I keep coming back to the chicken. Their recipe just rocks.
The restaurant is mostly clean and they offer a strong salsa bar. They’re quick and they’re reasonably priced.
If I were to make one complaint, it’s about their guacamole. While it’s decent and available with a number of food options, it’s just doesn’t taste like –real– guacamole. I wish they could upgrade the quality in that category and earn that extra star.

Now that I’m not «spring chicken» anymore and getting along years, I just can’t eat all the fast food grease, etc. If I’m going to frequent a necessary evil, it’s definitely El Pollo. Besides the tasty grilled chicken, I am a connoisseur of Mac and Cheese. This place is pretty consistent on theirs. Mac and cheese should be thick, but not too thick. Never runny or soupy (you asked for Mac and Cheese not Mac and Cheese soup or Noodles in cheese broth).
Haven’t had an absolute miss yet!
Try to avoid dinner drive thru. The second coming of Jesus will happen before you get your food… :-/

The Chocolate Nachos price point is TOO high. The item sells for $ 3.99…should be $ 1.99.
I love the tostada salad with the Cilantro dressing even though it contains a weeks worth of calories!

We don’t usually eat fast food, but OMG! We accidentally turned into Northgate Blvd. and found El Pollo Loco. It was dinner time and a rash decision, but I went with it. I don’t see El Pollo Loco around the way McDonald’s is on every corner.
The fiancé orders an 8 piece meal for $ 18.95. I’m in the passenger seat trippin because I’m wondering who’s going to eat all that Chicken. Pretty sure the meal could feed three people. BUT we did it! Killed the whole thing. Forgot how tasty this place was.
1. Grilled Crazy Chicken: YUMMY! I said I’d eat one chicken leg and I ended up eating two with the flour tortilla and the yummy different sauce that was in the bag.
2. Mac and Cheese: Creamy and cheesy!!! I was amazed at this side and the gooey goodness.
3. Grilled Corn: So good! I’m pretty sure that ist was canned corn, but I swear it tasted fresh.
LOVE! Definitely going to come back on super busy days where I don’t have time to cook.

For a fast food restuarant this place is tops. I go here for the flame grilled chicken salad at least twice a week due to the fact that its delicious, comes as a $ 5 combo meal deal, fills me up AND the salad itself is only 241 calories! (excluding the dressing) Beware of the delicious, made in the store, cilantro dressing which adds 191 calories to your meal for the small container and a whopping 441 for the large container.
I used to douse every item I orderd in that cilantro dressing, because it really is addicting and delicious, but now that I am trying to eat healthier and better, I stay clear of it altogether and use the avocado salsa as a dressing substitute and it does the job quite nicely (0 calories)
I’ve been there so often that the girl in the drive through knows what Im going to order all the time and always has a bunch of the salsa ready before I ask.
El Pollo Loco also gives the school I work at coupons for us teachers to give out to students for a free childs meal. The kids LOVE this and I can get them to do anything if I bribe them with a free meal. Not to mention us staff members get a slight discount when we go there so its an all around win. The staff is always really polite too.
