Enforcement Tow

Very cheap place and very unprofessional employees, they are just looking for how to take your money, I am not recommended this place, poor communication, 0% customers service, and very high charges. Note: always take cash when you get there most of the time their system is down and not accepting the card and for their fault you have to pay more if you come the next day to pick up the car.

My car broke down the other night at the end of the Florin Road freeway off-​ramp, which is a VERY unsafe place for a car to be parked… I was able to get it out of the exit lane & on to the shoulder a little, but it was not in a safe place, and I was really worried somebody might hit it when exiting the freeway because it was a wet night and my hazard lights were not very noticeable so I did not want to stay in my vehicle while I waited for the tow truck that I had already called. The awesome guy at Enforcement Tow saw me and my car on the side of the road and even though he was already towing a vehicle, pulled over to see if I needed any help. He was really concerned about my safety, and offered to stay there with me while I waited for my tow truck and turned on the lights on his truck so that other vehicles could now easily see the hazard (my sad broken Toyota) ahead. He was obviously on his way someplace, and his walkie talkie kept going off but he hung out until my tow truck arrived and he knew my car and I were safe and on our way. Before he had arrived I was nervously standing on the side of the road by myself in the dark, worrying about creepy people trying to lure me in to their cars (which had already happened twice in the 10 minutes I had been waiting). I really appreciated what the tow guy did, and I just wanted to let people know that Enforcement Tow isn’t all about just towing vehicles parked where they are not supposed to be. They didn’t make any money by staying parked on the side of the road with me until my help arrived, but they made my bad night a lot better and safer and I really appreciated that. I see all these bad reviews on here about cars getting towed… OF COURSE these people are going to give a bad review! They did the wrong thing, got caught, got TOWED– and are pissed off about it. Cars getting towed from where they are NOT supposed to be makes the roads safer for EVERYBODY, and there are rules for a reason. Enforcement Tow’s job is to ENFORCE these rules… and they do that very well.

This place is a scam. I called in the morning and was told the total to release the car was $ 350. When I arrived later that day I was told the total would be $ 400 because they had the car for over 24 hours (something they neglected to mention over the phone). After giving them the keys so they could get the registration from the vehicle, I told them I had only come with $ 350 cash because that’s the total I was given, they said the total was «locked» into the computer and nothing could be done so they needed $ 400. I then went down the street to find the nearest ATM and came back with a few minutes to spare before their closing time. I found that they had already locked up and drove down the street to a friends house. I went to confront them and they said the paperwork would have taken them longer than closing time, so they would have charged me more anyway. Total is now up to $ 450 because their daily fee is $ 50! In addition to that, because they had already locked up, they refused to give me my keys back. It’s obvious these guys are trying to squeeze any dollar out of people they can get.

This business (?) is running what appears to be a very successful and lucrative «tow-​drop fee» scam. Beware! If you are disabled and have a valid disabled parking placard and permit (as I do), do not take out your wallet to pay the driver of this truck (as I did), who has illegally hooked up your vehicle to his tow truck. Take out your cell phone instead and call 911 because he has committed a crime. Ben White, the driver, who owns and operates this business (for which I could not locate a business license) operates on the edge of what is legal and what is dishonest, and is getting away with charging a «ransom» fee to unhook his victim’s vehicle. CA code states that a citation must be written by authorized law enforcement before anyone can touch a vehicle parked in a disabled parking slot and Ben White has no such legal authority. After he gets your money, he writes a receipt which looks something like an official citation. I believe this guy watched me get out of my car and go into Walgreen’s. He then hooked up my car and sent someone in to tell me that my car was being towed. I hurried in a panic on my gimpy leg to find my car hooked up and ready to tow. The driver of the truck presented me with three options: cash, credit card, or being towed. All I could think of in my confusion was getting my car unhitched from his truck, so I gave him a credit card. My bank reimbursed me, cancelled my card, and issued a new card for me. But even so, I’m 81 years old, and do not need this kind of excitement in my life. And I know he is hurting many people who may not be able to get their money back easily or at all. Walgreen’s, by the way, has video of this whole incident, but can only release it to an authorized legal entity.

There are a lot of things in life that are not fair, do you think speeding laws are unfair and want to sue the California Highway Patrol if you get a ticket? This company is simply doing a job. They are NOT targeting low income people and tow from many other places including upscale shopping centers and upper-​middle class gated communities. This particular community you are referring to has this parking policy for a reason. They want to be able to connect a vehicle to an apartment for purposes of crime deterrance and to ensure there is enough parking for the residents. There are signs at each entrance which are compliant with California Vehicle Code and all tows are completed within the strict guidelines of the law. A lawsuit would do nothing but disappoint you as there is nothing illegal about what is happening here. If you simply follow the rules you will not be towed.

This tow company tows cars out of apartment complex’s unfairly. If I had money for a lawyer I would get one and take both the apartment complex and the tow company to small claims court. Bad signage and unfair policies! Since this is a low income area it is double bad, as their main prey, is people living in poverty. Please have signs stating, parking pass needed. It is not fair to assume folks know or will be told by residents. Let the car owner have a chance to take their finances in their own hands, not be at the mercy of the apartment dweller. I was able to get my car back, but at $ 325.00 a tow, will have no money till payday.
