Worst customer service I have ever had. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. Tonight we came in with a party of three. We were told there was a ten minute wait for inside but outside was open so we took a table outside(there were 5 tables inside that were reserved for a party who hadn’t showed up yet) after waiting outside for ten minutes a waitress finally came to our table for our drink order. She said she was unable to take our alcohol order and she would have someone come to the table to take. After another ten minutes we were able to order our alcohol drinks. Our drinks we brought to us and we proceeded to order our food. We were stopped after the 1st person ordered because out server had to leave to go set up the remaining tables outdoors to move the original reserved indoor party outside since they showed up with 12 extra people. We ordered our food then we were asked if we wanted to move inside because they were short a table and needed ours. At this point we agreed since we were left in an awkward. position. However at this point there were no open tables inside so we got stuck waiting on the side with our drinks. I then asked the waitress for our check and Told her we were just going to pay for our drinks and leave since they told us it would be a ten minute wait for a table. She ran the check and I paid without an apology or any kind of accommodation. Florez had lost a long time customer. Shame on you.

Did they change cooks?! Man! Everything’s changed and food is too salty! Used to be a great place for their soups… so very unhappy right now

Delicious food and great staff! Been coming here for a year now and have introduced this hole in the wall to many friends I’ll be moving out of this area but will definitely make the drive to come here for their ice cream and churros and live music

We were in Sacramento for a family reunion. We were looking for a breakfast place close to where we were staying. Found this gem on Unilocal.Saturday morning breakfast. Everything was full of flavor. Ordered machaca. Ordered traditional breakfast. Ordered pancakes for the kids. We sat on the patio because it was so lovely outside. But there were a lot of flies. We spent our whole meal swatting them away. But the food will bring us back!

Alright Florez, I see you. My boyfriend has brought me here twice, but he’s been loving this place for years and I get it. Both days we went in on a Sunday. The first time the foot ball game was on, the server was nice and personable, and my bacon spinach omelet was bomb. The second time we went with family, consistent excellent service, and the band came out which was fun. I’m pretty sure I heard ‘all about the bass’ mariachi style I got the same omelet and again it satisfied. The country fried steak is baby boys favorite which is equally delicious. I’m sure I will update with a picture soon.

Great service. Chips and salsa to tide you over. I love their bottomless mimosa(heavy hands) and love the options of food.

I write this as I’ve been sitting waiting for almost two hours for our food. We’ve watched parties come in significantly after us & they are now leaving the restaurant having eaten. When we’ve inquired multiple times about our food we get the same answer of it’s coming. This is unfortunately is one of the only Mexican restaurants in our neighborhood, so we’ll be traveling out of the neighborhood for Mexican food from now on.

The first time I went here with my friend, I remember the food being pretty good, but can’t remember what we ordered. I returned for a second time to show my husband because we were craving Mexican food. The first thing I noticed when walking up is that all the sunshades were down on the front balcony area, so the sign was blocked and it was hard to even tell it was open. I suggest the restaurant management place another sign above these so that potential new customers can easily find the restaurant. We were seated right away and service was good. Although it was odd our sangria drinks took longer than our food to. come out. I ordered a taco salad with steak and hubby ordered a shrimp quesadilla. If you are one that loves huge meals this place is for you– but what it had in size it unfortunately lacked in flavor. Everything we had was pretty mediocre– aside from the tortilla chips– those were light and yummy. The sangria was good, but perhaps throw some fruit in for better presentation. When I think sangria, I think a drink with fresh fruit floating in it. That’s what makes sangria– sangria ;) Both our meals were huge but seemed over complicated in a way and lacked flavor. They sautee zucchini and added it to both our meals– that is unique, but wasn’t favorable to us. My steak had texture, but no flavor… also the taco salad doesn’t come with dressing so maybe if they had a salsa ranch that came on the side that might complete the meal. The romaine lettuce that they used also just seemed a bit outta place I am not sure why– maybe because they were huge leaves, it might be better to chop a bit more. The quesadilla while enormous came on a bed of grease :(also can also possibly get away with adding a bit less cheese. The one we ordered had a 14 inch tortilla and was from the appetizer(antojito) menu. Definitely meant to share lol Anyway, it was a bit of a disappointment I must say and even with the 20% off our bill it still came out very pricey. I probably would not return… but sincerely grateful for the great customer service and good setting.

First time here. The mariachis were awesome. They took all our 4 requests for songs and were great. The food was beyond great too. I think we confused the waiters with large party coming in whenever they want. I got huevos rancheros, and I didn’t read that it had a slice of ham under it. AMAZING, I love breakfast ham though.

A lively and festive atmosphere, decent food, and strong drinks makes for a fun Sunday brunch in this South Land Park neighborhood. But being one of the only Mexican restaurants in the area means this place is busy all the time, and service was spotty at best. All the staff were pretty friendly but for the number of employees I saw walking around, I expected better service. From taking our orders, bringing out our drinks, getting refills on drinks, more chips & salsa, and needing silverware and napkins… it was all a little too much to be looking for our server(or anyone willing to make eye contact) and asking for things that should have been automatic. I had the chicken nachos, which I expected to come with grilled chicken but was made with shredded chicken instead. The chicken had great flavor and was tender, but overall not the best nachos I’ve ever had. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken enchilada plate, my friend loved her cup of menudo, and her husband said his fries weren’t crispy enough for his carne asada fries. The chips and salsa were delicious but they need to serve the salsa in bigger bowls! I think Florez is a great choice for those living in the area, but I doubt I would make another trip out here since I could get similar quality food and atmosphere closer to my own hood. But it’s definitely a solid«A-OK». *Don’t forget to check-in on Unilocal…20% off your food tab!!!

I knowww, I know. I should’ve gotten a more Mexican dish than what I had. The pictures got me! Plus it was brunch time. I also did have some chips & salsa for starters. No excuses. Anyway, this plate was packin’ heavy artillery: Amaretto French Toast Combo($ 9.99) — fresh baked brioche bread, amaretto & topped w/fresh strawberries, blueberries, and toasted almonds, served w/2 scrambled eggs and 2 strips of bacon. Filled me right up even before I touched the food. Bread, eggs, bacon, fruit… what else do you REALLY need to start off the day right. It didn’t quite amount to Sac’s other première breakfast spots, but hey — valiant effort. Besides, this restaurant is primarily focused on signature Mexican cuisine. The looks, the smell, oooh I merely got a whiff of that spice on spice… on spice, which I’ll translate to taste come next visit. So inconspicuous I would’ve never found you out if it hadn’t been for the Unilocal gods directing me your way. It’s like the tight-knit locals don’t talk about it or something. Break that rule! Rave about it! I should’ve heard about you guys sooner! I want to join your Fight Club ~

I rarely ever crave Mexican food but when my boyfriend drove me to a new spot for Sunday lunch, I was pleasantly surprised! The location is odd, and there’s no signage out front that says Florez Bar and Grill, but they were still packed inside and outside, so I guess that’s how good they are! How could you turn away from the live mariachi music?! We arrived around lunchtime yet we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We got a nice booth near the kitchen and we were given water and chips & salsa immediately. Both salsas were delicious but also on the spicy side, and my water was refilled as fast as I drank it. Great service, friendly waitress and food came out fast! On top of that, the food was DELICIOUS! I ordered the carnitas combo since I was looking for something with pico de gallo and guacamole included. They have a breakfast menu too but many of the items on there seemed like something you could get at IHOP(if I wanted traditional American breakfast, I’d be at Bacon and Butter!) so I tried to stray away from that and go for authentic Mexican food instead. I’m so glad that I did! The carnitas combo was huge — a carnitas taco, quesadilla and burrito, with rice and beans, and pico, guacamole and sour cream on the side. I ate half and I was satisfied, can’t wait for leftovers! Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal also. All you have to do is show them that you checked in and posted a photo, and you get 20% off! I will definitely recommend this place to others and I’ll be back for sure… Gotta love hidden gem restaurants in Sac!

The meal started off with a laugh as the mariachi band took a break in the bar and decided to jam with an impromptu version of Sweet Home Alabama! That made my day and the lead singer’s voice was great. We ordered a round of drinks, which took a while to get to our table. In fact, service was a bit slow and prices were a little on the higher end for Mexican(most lunch plates were in the $ 12-$ 13 and up range), but the food was really really good. No one left much on their plate. I ordered the flautas with carnitas and that just about hit the spot. It was also one of the least expensive options — 2 flautas with beans and rice for around $ 8. I guess the slow service was due to the fact that there was a large private party being held at the same time.

Someone should have told me to go to my favorite French toast place like Tower Café or Bacon & Butter bc I certainly didn’t go with my intuitive feeling. Especially when I told my husband where the restaurant is located I thought it was on the right side and how wrong I was! Come to find out it’s in the center of the strip mall that had been here for years! We had to walk past the patio covering so we can see the restaurant sign. I was really in the mood for French toast so they had an Amaretto brioche French toast with blueberries, strawberries and almonds. Also included was scrambled eggs and choice of sausage or bacon. I took one taste of the French toast and I think my taste buds took a negative turn. Even the sausage was a bit burnt and had no flavor. So unfortunately for me the food was just mediocre. We did have great service though. She even packed our leftovers to go. I only ate a quarter of my food. Not sure if I will finish it later. I did use the Unilocal 20% off our total bill so that was a plus. If we come back I would order a totally different entrée fasho! But I doubt that happening!!!

Surprisingly, I really really enjoyed this place! I know it may not be super authentic, but the food is good, reasonably priced, and served in huge portions. There’s a patio outside and they allow dogs, which is always great for me! For around $ 13 I got the plate of grilled salmon tacos, a side of rice and beans, and a small albondigas soup, a meal so large I had it for lunch and leftovers for dinner. I had so much salmon on my plate, more fish than I’ve ever seen in any fish taco dish. And the fish seemed really good quality to me, lightly seasoned and perfectly grilled. I especially LOVED the albondigas soup! Next time I want to order just a bowl of soup as my entrée. I saw some soup bowls on other tables and they were pretty massive. On the weekends I think they have a Mariachi band playing inside the restaurant. And service was excellent and they give you really delicious Mexican candies when you get your bill :) Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area and looking for a sit-down Mexican meal with your furry friend!
