This is truly a mom and pop place, the couple seem very nice. I started working near by and been looking for a good chinese place. I got a 2 item combo and for $ 7.50, I thought the portion was small. I got 3 small pieces of chicken, some veggie, rice and small noodles. Maybe I’ll try the adobe next time.

I think the Unilocal page for this establishment is outdated as the menu on here is completely different from what I saw on the menu when I got there. I didn’t see very much Chinese food — it was mostly filled with Filipino dishes. They also updated their interior and have 3 flat screen TVs that display the menu behind the counter. Also, it’s in a pretty ghetto area. *Garlic Fried Rice: It looks plain, but is delicious. I’m pretty sure it has MSG in it. *Crispy Pata: A giant pork bone with crispy meat on the outside, and tender meat underneath that just falls off the bone. Very good. *Caldereta(I think): Basically a beef stew. Tender chunks of beef with your typical stew vegetables. Pretty awesome. *Turon: Just a banana fried in lumpia wrappers, sprinkled with sugar. Not my favorite, but it’s what you would expect it to taste like. Will definitely come here again. Great comfort style food and the lady was nice too.

Driving to Sac every tuesday for my brother’s UC Davies’ check-up is not easy for us living in Reno. However, come snow storm and slick road, we look forward to having lunch at Golden Chopsticks for a quick filipino food fix before we head home. First, I would like to commend the owner’s hospitality. Makes you want to share your life’s journey in the US with them all day!!! Second, the crispy pata — walang katulad!!! Soft on the inside yet so crispy on the outside! So perfectly done! our next fave however, believe it or not, is everything else on the menu!!! Now that we go to Sac every 4 weeks, we are happy for my brother’s improving health but at the same time sad because we will miss the owner’s family and the fil– chinese dishes we love so much. Looking forward to our next visit!!!

I live in the middle of nowhere in Tahoe, so a stop in Sac means getting my Filipino food on! To my must-do list, I can now add this place as part of my pilgrimage route. After shopping at Seafood City and grabbing Señorita bread at the bakery next door, head to the strip mall across the street, home to this little gem. I ordered a Super Sulit meal to go for something like $ 8. To go. With lechon kawali and fried chicken. It was a bit of a wait, but I could literally see the guy in the kitchen making things from scratch. Once I got to my hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to open up the food and see what I got. Sorry no pic — I was too hungry! * Lechon kawali — A slab of deep fried pork belly sliced up. A lot less fattier than the way it’s usually served. * Two pieces of fried chicken — Small, but really tasty. Great breading. * Huge serving of garlic fried rice. The best I’ve ever tasted. The only thing that would make this be over the top would be if they added scrambled eggs, and then it would be just like my mom made it at home. * Surprise! They threw in a nice serving of pancit. So glad Unilocal got me here…

After a very foggy ride from Reno and endless wait for my brother’s check-up at UC Davies, we were all craving for — CRISPYPATA! I checked out Unilocal and found this restaurant with a very good rating. When we got there, the place was closed. What??? Fortunately, the owners accomodated us knowing that we were out-of-towners. Whew!!! We took advantage of their generosity and ordered crispy pata, kare-kare, sinigang na baboy and pancit. Hands up! So perfectly done! Decent portions and fairly priced. What can you possibly say? We sadly drove back to Reno but we know we have something to look forward to on next visit to Sac. and of course, Golden Chopstix. Fried Chicken here were come!!! Salamat po ng marami!

Only been here once but so far so good. The crispy fried chicken was very good. Looking forward to trying some other stuff. The lady that owns the place seems very friendly too. I’ll add more once a I try a few more items.

This is probably one of the better Filipino restaurants here in Sacramento. It’s a family owned restaurant and there’s only a few of them, so your order might take a while, but I mean, cooking Filipino food isn’t so easy anyways. Their Crispy Pata is hands down one of the best I’ve eaten. It’s very crisp and falls off the bone. The Kalderitang Baka and the Pork Sisig aren’t bad either. It’s kind of pricey compared to other small restaurants, but most of the time, Filipino dishes takes time to make with lots of different ingredients. Overall, it’s a great restaurant if you’re craving for some great quality Filipino food because this spot definitely doesn’t disappoint.

Golden Chopstix is hands down my favorite place for good Filipino eats at a fair price. My family has been eating here for many years now, and the food remains consistently tasty. My favorites are the garlic fried rice, tofu with cod, fish with black bean sauce, pancit, fried chicken, and lumpia shanghai. This is a family run place, and the owners’ friendliness also adds to the charm of this place. If I leave Sac, I will be sad to say goodbye to their food.

Great Filipino Restaurant. I love their Lumpia, Lechon Kawali, Guisadong Sotanghon, Garlic Fried Rice and Pinoy Bistek. Warm and friendly Mom and Pop restaurant. Unfortunately, after 32 years of excellent food and service, they had to sadly close last August 15, 2013

It’s remodeled inside and now it feels open and bright :) This place has a better breakfast option than Chow King & Red Ribbon! I ordered the longsilog: longanisa, egg and garlic fried rice. Not bad at all. I’ll def be back to try the others on the menu!

I love my silogs and I heard that this place had them. Even though they didn’t have tocino, I forgive them cause my tapsilog was SUPER yummy! I inhaled that thing. My Tongan friend enjoyed her crispy pata :) it was good and crispy but looked like a heart attack served on a plate so I limited my consumption. I will be coming back for sure :) Don’t expect a fancy place. They did use real plates and silverware unlike what others have said. They must’ve read the Unilocal reviews. Gotta call in for pork adobo ahead of time.

I can make some damn good Filipino food, but only a handful of dishes, not a wide variety. I mean, that’s what Lolas and mothers-in-law are for. Well, sadly for me my beautiful Lola passed away a few years ago and now I don’t get her wonderful cooking. On a happier note, I got a divorce around that same time, but that also carries the sad fact of no more good mother-in-law food. Finding a place to get a fix for the Filipino foods I don’t normally(or can’t) cook is not easy. Filipino restaurants don’t seem to do well. Why? Who knows. Looking on Unilocal I noticed Golden Chopstix had a pretty high rating. Hmm… This I had to check out. I drove all the way down to Mack Rd to this little strip-mall across the street from Seafood City. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it seemed very much like a Mom & Pops place. We(the boyfriend and I) took a seat and were given menus to look over. The menu is Chinoy/Tsinoy, leaning heavily on the Chinese side, but with all the most popular Filipino dishes as well(that other reviewer is full of it, they have adobo on the menu). I really wanted some Tinolang Manok, but it was too hot of a day for soup so instead we got Lechon Kawali –crispy, fatty, pan roasted pork(comes with sweet and sour or lechon gravy — ask for the gravy!), Pancit Miki Bihon — mixed noodle pancit with some meats and veggies, and Lumpia Shanghai — the skinny mostly meat kind of lumpia. It was all good like homemade. I was surprised when it tasted so similar to my former mother-in-law’s cooking. Even the lumpia was good and that is something I often dread trying at a restaurant. I think Pops was the one in back doing the cooking. Mom was our main server and she was so nice! She has a very welcoming presence and helped make it a relaxing place to have lunch. Son(?) was there serving as well and he was pretty helpful. I noticed they also do party sized dishes and lechon baboy. Good to know!

Great food, good customer service. It’s a family run operation and very tasty. Loved the lumpia! You can order an entire baby roast pig for $ 225 that serves 60 – 70 people. Very cool idea for your next big gathering.

Crispy Pata — Deep fried pork shank goodness! Crispy and juicy and oh so tasty with the vinegar sauce. I could eat a whole one all to myself, however bf and I shared one. Since it is a heavy dish, I scrape the non crispy fatty stuff that is underneath the skin but do eat the remaining skin that is crispy. The vinegar helps cut the oiliness of this dish. Shrimp fried rice — simple fried rice with shrimp with good flavor and«wok hay». Wor wonton soup — simple and satisfying. Just a brothy soup with bok choy, wontons, a few slices of pork and a couple small piece of shrimp. Not full ofstuff, but enjoyable. Service — Nice and friendly folks. I believe the polite gentleman working the dining area is their owners son. Ambience — hole in the wall, but who cares when the food is good? Large to go orders — They do large orders for parties too. I saw 3 roasted pigs ready for pick up. Pigs with the head intact. They looked delicious and I really wanted to walk by snap off a piece of that crispy skin. A couple of white women came in and saw the pigs and had shocked looks on their faces and left quickly thereafter. Morons… they don’t know what they are missing… they can stick to their 80% real ground beef Taco Bell foods. I’ll be back!

I wanted to love this place for being a hole-in-the-wall family-run restaurant. The people who run it do indeed seems very nice. However… I had a few issues with it. 1) Although labeled as a Filipino restaurant, the menu is predominantly Chinese. Filipino food options are limited. How can you claim to be a Filipino restaurant and NOT serve adobo? What’s up with that?! 2) They served us our food on paper plates. 3) They locked the door at 7:30 on a Friday night. 4) No one refilled our water glasses(or should I say, plastic cups) while we were eating there. Anyway, the pancit, lumpiang, and and Beefsteak were all very tasty and I can’t complain. I just couldn’t quite get over the service and ambience issues. Sorry!
