We went with a group of eight for a friends birthday. It was great! It was much, much better than I expected and everyone is talking about going back. It was definitely challenging! It takes a lot of collaboration so going with group of friends is probably best. I love that it’s off an alley; it added to the mystery. We had drinks at Pre Flight Lounge which has relocated from the former downtown mall and is right next door. Our guide from Golden Puzzle Room came to the bar to escort us dressed like Wednesday Adams. It was the perfect amount of mystery, suspense and difficult puzzles you’ve never seen before.

Cool experience! Just make sure you book you and all your friends to do it, not with strangers. We really liked this place, thought the puzzles were just challenging enough. Not going to talk about any of it, it should be a surprise. There were just two of us, and two other groups of people– a great couple, one guy with three girls. The three girls were too busy chatting and visiting, and didn’t really participate in the puzzles. They did one short part of a puzzle and looked at some stuff but weren’t really into it. I know if we had three people who cared on our team we would have gotten out. Bummer. They just dragged us down. I will say there are a couple hiccups with the execution of a few puzzles and a couple things I would change, so use your three questions if you’re struggling with something– time flies by! We’ll check out the next room they come up with when it opens later this year.

Wow! I had such a great time! I loved it! The puzzles are creative and challenging, some more than others. It was definitely a great feeling when you surprise yourself by actually solving some of the puzzles. It’s too bad they don’t change the puzzle room but they will have a second room in April. I can’t wait to try the next one!

Highly recommend this experience! This was my first escape room, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it was excellent. One puzzle was imo much harder than the rest and I have the feeling a lot of groups get stuck on it, so that would be my one issue. Some tips for success: Be vocal and work together, Let different members of the group work on puzzles simultaneously to save on time(we escaped but only with 2min55sec left), if some people aren’t figuring out a puzzle, get some fresh eyes on it for a new perspective, follow the rules and try not to ask the butler anything for a better challenge(although they probably won’t answer your question directly anyway). Groupon deal saved $ 10 off per person; I think $ 20 is the perfect price point, $ 30 is a little steep. Would love to see a multi-room setup for $ 30. Will be back for the«tomb» escape room in April!

I have always wanted to try out a puzzle room and I felt like this was a great experience. The butler, I believe his name was Matt, was extremely nice. Without giving anything away, the clues were at a good level for a group of rowdy girls to critically think with one another. Unfortunately we didn’t make it out which made us sad for the rest of the day but it’s definitely a must try! I think they will be having more rooms with more scenarios so I’ll definitely be coming back and hoping to beat the puzzle next time!

1. A one-room escape is not as stimulating as a mulit-room escape. 2. Don’t like the guy in the room with you; usually they have cameras and are watching you and provide you with walkie talkies in which you are allowed three clues. Having the butler in the room felt like having a teacher in the room looking over your shoulder 3. If you don’t solve all of the clues, they never tell you where you went wrong or what you missed(BUMMER). 4. Not very many locks to open which was very disappointing 5. Puzzles were definitely challenging — we did not make it out of the room!

I won’t give details; that would ruin the fun! And there was a tremendous amount of fun to be had. I will say that to get there, you need to go to the J St/K St alley on 10th St. The entrance is right next to Pre Flite bar. When it was time to get puzzling, Matthew the Butler came to fetch us and give us the lowdown. We didn’t escape, but we were so close it made my heart hurt. Regardless, we had a spectacular time and it was well worth it! When they change it up, we absolutely will be back for more.
