Their food tastes great but the portions are horrible for the price you pay. I bought a carne asada burrito bowl and still felt hungry afterwards. There was only a couple of spoons of rice and one spoon of beans! They also charged me extra for sour cream. WOW

I enjoy eating here mostly because they are cheaper and healthier than many other options on campus. The line moves fast, and the food is pretty good. I usually get one of their veggie burrito options super deluxe style. However, if you’re eating meat, you might get more value at another restaurant nearby.

If poundage counts highly in your burrito score, know they’ll gladly weigh yours to ensure it’s 16 ozs or more. Beyond that, it’s your garden variety college-area burrito shop.

There is a reason this place is «getting a bum rap.» It deserves a bum rap. You could do worse, but that’d be sad. My bland burrito was so expertly wrapped that it leaked out the bottom.(I’m okay with food being messy. Just not bland.) It isn’t really«cheap» if it is this bad. And the salsa? It was fairly horrible(very watery) as well. If you don’t like flavor, this is the place for you. You can get a fair deal of nothing tasty for a nominal fee! Comparing it to Chipotle is amusing as well. Way to set the bar really really low. Ah well… Good point? Um… uh…it was in the University Union at CSUS so I didn’t have to leave campus. Ya, that’s about it… but calling it mediocre is a compliment.

I just have to say this is probably the most bland Mexican food I have had. It’s okay. Nothing too special. I mean any college student craving Mexican food on campus would of course buy from here but in all honesty I’d rather have a Taco Bell. The burritos are bland with flavor and not to mention the salsa doesn’t really help either. I’d expect the breakfast burritos to be a tad bit better but even at that they were just OK. I usually judge a Mexican restaurants by their tripas, lengua, and chorizo. For one they didn’t have tripas or lengua and their chorizo was sub par. I mean I ate their food, switched up the menu items, but in all honesty I suggest you go somewhere else on campus to find a fix for food or if you want Mexican food, try finding a different place.

Unless you are starving during a quick class break, walk a mile along the river trail and go to the Gordito Burrito on La Riviera. The chicken fajita burrito at this location was far worse then the location down the road, they left out the peppers and onions(did fajita just mean the seasoning on the meat). I would stick to basics like a bean and cheese burrito, those are difficult to mess up. But, out of all the choices in the food court, this is still probably the best.

I love coming here for years for their veggie breakfast burritos: flour tortilla with potatoes, beans, cheese, onions and bell peppers. Absolutely delicious and very filling. The salsa is great too and comes free on the side with the burrito. I don’t understand the negative comments at all. I never had a bad experience or bad food at this location.

Any place that serves stale chips immediately gets a one. Makes me wonder how old everything else is. Just got a bean and cheese burrito-started off ok, but the beans were dry as well. Won’t go back!

Expensive! It was ash wednesday when I came looking for something cheesy and vegetarian. Gordito burrito? Boy it sure wasn’t gordito. I hate beans, but there was nothing else to purchase that seemed fulfilling being a day for no meat. I needed protein and glanced at the rice beans and cheese burrito. For a regular size it was $ 4.49 before tax. There was a super size as a choice after regular. I had the choice between Black or pinto beans. I chose pinto. I was hoping for a good amount of cheese to mass the taste of beans. It was an okay amount, more rice than anything else. It was accompanied by a side of chips and salsa. I asked for an extra side of salsa for my burrito. The chips were white corn, but stale. My favorite part was the salsa. Salsa was very tasty. Lots of onions, I had major onion breath until the next day. I will only come back if I have to. Not a favorite. It filled me for the mean while.

I really wanted to like this place because it was relatively close by and had unusually cheap burritos First bad sign, the place was completely empty at peak dinner time. But that’s not a big deal, maybe they’re more of a lunch or take away place. This would make sense as the store itself is kind of dirty and not inviting. Carne asada burrito came out fast. When I picked up one end, it was so floppy that the burrito formed a 90 degree angle. Never really seen that before, just a really gooey feeling. It ended up tasting really bland and mushy, almost like a microwave burrito. Adding to this thought were the occasional cold spots in it. Admittedly, it’s conveniently in a plaza right off the highway exit. Gordito is probably a better choice than any other restaurant in that gas station/convenience store plaza

This place appears to be getting a bum rap. It’s not amazing, but it’s not at all terrible! For a mid-day bite when you can’t leave campus, you could do much worse. The burritos are fairly priced and tasty. Nothing special, but by no means a bad lunch. Maybe it’s just fond memories of my college days, but a completely acceptable burrito so far as I’m concerned.

This definitely isn’t a match for Chipotle or other real authentic Mexican food, but it’s not horrible. I came here because I was STARVING and I had an hour break before my last class, which is freakin’ 3 hours long!!! So hell no am I gonna sit in class with my stomach rumbling. The women who work here are pretty nice and their service is quick too. It took less than 5 minutes for me to receive my chicken burrito, but sometimes there’s a line of people and well yeah, your order will take forever almost. I haven’t eaten anything else from here, but I’ve heard so much crap from other people hahaha. But I haven’t had any stomach issues from their food! :-)

I only eat here because it’s on campus and when I’m craving for Mexican food. Not the best of course, but it will do. Located in the University Union. Service: There’s usually two people working here only so sometimes they may take a little longer to serve you. The cashier was nice and patient. They’ll call out your number when it’s ready for pickup after paying at the cashier. Food/Price: This is the only Mexican place open on campus when I get there for night class since the one in the River Front. I’ved eaten the soft tacos to the asada fries. The tacos aren’t too bad but I wish their sauce was spicier. I ordered the asada fries and small drink for $ 6.99 +tax which isn’t too bad. The asada fries were pretty good but wished there was more salsa on it. They gave me some chips and salsa as well so that was nice of them. The salsa for the chips was good. It used to have slight bitter taste to it, but now the salsa is much better. Oh yeah, they’ve redone the whole place where you eat at… Well replaced the tables and chairs in the area facing the main side. The side next to Burger King was kept the same. Overall, I will be returning because I need dinner since I have night class.

A little overpriced, but im addicted to these burritos… Honestly i wouldn’t rather have any other burrito, its the only place i eat at in Sac State, basically im a regular there, they know what i like before i order. The customer service is really good but their english isn’t all too good. Im going to miss this place when i graduate, hopefully ill just drop by ever so often.

I was quite disappointed of the size of the burrito and even the portion for the carne asada fries too. It’s pricey as well for the quality of the burrito. I must admit The breakfast burrito is pretty good though! I’d come here for the convenience if I was really really craving a breakfast burrito and if I know that I have a long school day ahead of me.

Its a long burrito I got the veggie burrito and there was basically rice and a tiny bit of lettuce. It was an okay burrito.

The burritos are small, bland, and overpriced. I’d eat here a lot more often if they were bigger or included some guac/sour cream or something.

For people who like to eat normal portion sizes the burritos here are wonderful, if not larger then needed. As an undergrad I are here all of the time, and like another reviewer sometimes twice a day. As a grad student I eat here once a week. I used to eat the Chicken Fajita Burrito with everything. For breakfast they had a really good breakfast burrito with red potatoes. Nowadays I normally get the Veggie or the Garden Veggie. The Garden Veggie takes more time to make so it depends on how long my break from class is. The people are friendly. One of my classmates was a regular and as soon as they saw her walking into the dining area they started to make her usual. All around better then eating Burger King all the time.

When I attended Sac State I loved this place. They had some great breakfast and regular burritos as well. I sometimes even ate here twice in a day =X. Their salsa is so good, and had that little kick at the end of it. Not to mention it was only 50cents to ‘super’ your burrito up with sour cream, guacamole, and cheese; great deal! Yes, the wait was always long and the place didn’t look clean. But I can’t think of any place on campus that wasn’t the same way. Not to mention that you got free chips and salsa with your order! This place isn’t the best Mexican restaurant ever, but it was very delicious and satisfied many cravings for me on days when leaving campus was just out of the question.

Had to try this place because it is here. I intend to try all the eating spots on campus, but thus far nothing has really stood out. The burritos are puny. I mean, I paid $ 6.75 for a combo deal(burrito, chips, salsa and small drink) and it was so inadequate. The chips were few, the salsa didn’t even fill up the container, the burrito was about half the size of your Chipotle burrito, but the drink was okay. Nothing much else to say, except that I’m skipping this place next time!
