Love the food. I have food delivered from here and they are always friendly and quick. Usually arrive before the estimated time. Good quality food. Have never been into the restaurant so only speaking about the food and delivery. Also delivery is free. A great go to for dinner.

Low quality food. Ordered chicken chow mein, orange chicken, pork shu-mei, shang hainese pork dumplings, and shrimp har-gow. I ordered for delivery which was nice being 2 miles away, or so I thought it would be. The food was not good, sauces included just as bad, almost tasted reheated. The shrimp har-gow was especially unacceptable I couldn’t even eat a second piece, poor food practices. I would rather eat frozen Chinese food and make it myself. Definitely will not eat or order from here again. Dim-sum or not, delivery or not, free food or not. Just bad. Though the order arrived quicker than estimated so next time just take your time to make sure the food is edible.

I want to give this place more stars but I can’t. The food is very good, and the fact that is ayce makes it that much better. The service though is terrible to say the least. I hope the owner reads this review so he or she can do something about the servers. The first time we came here the service was bad to start out with. They sat us down and we were waiting for two other people but we wanted to order so the food could be done by the time they got there. The server said we couldn’t until the whole party was there. I hadn’t eaten all day so so I was irritated but rules are rules I guess. Then when we were ready to order they took their sweet time to get to our table. Saw that we were ready but decided to finish bagging to go boxes for people that didn’t end up showing up for 15 minutes after. Then took forever inbetween each order like they were waiting for us to just get full and stop ordering. This second time was horrendous. Terrible service. Took forever to take our order again and we had our menus closed and waived to get their attention. We were only one of two tables that were in there. Placed our first order and she gave us attitude on how the process works but whatever. It was time to place our second order she came back with a chip on her shoulder. We wanted two orders of walnut shrimp then she gave us a dirty look and asked rudely«how many pieces you want» we said as many as it comes with just two orders. Then she says they’re were 12 pieces before. First of all, no there wasn’t bitch. There was only eight. So then we asked for twenty and she gave us the dirtiest stink eye. And asked if we wanted anything else and I didn’t even finish talking when she walked away. So I had to raise my voice and ask for orange chicken too. Terrible terrible service. Good food but it’s not worth it for me to be irritated and mad after a good meal like that. So this other service drops off our check and it reads $ 34.62, I’m waiting to pay so I finally just take it up since they’re so pre occupied with talking shit behind the counter. Our server takes a long time at the register. I payed in cash by the way, Idk if she couldn’t do the math or what. Then she messes with check and charges me $ 36.62 instead but because it’s a dollar more on weekends and forgot to put it in. I don’t care about the two dollars but I was already irritated with the shitty service. Maybe I’m being overly critical but if I’m paying good money for good food then it shouldn’t be that hard to be decent to your customers. Oh the servers name is Lisa. She sucks, ask for someone else if you can. She’s the Asian lady with short hair and glasses. She sucks.

Ordered pork buns, dumplings, wonton soup, and szechuan chicken for delivery. The delivery time was right on time, but the food itself did not deliver. There was barely any filling in the pork buns, dumplings were meh, wonton soup had no flavor. The only thing I enjoyed was the szechuan chicken. Although, I ordered spicy and received no spice. I should have known better than to try chinese outside of my usual Sunny Lee’s

Always a pleasant experience. We are regulars here and they know our order. I have lived in Rancho Cordova for 3 years now and by far this is the best Chinese food I’ve had in the Sacramento area. I love their thick noodle chow mein, broccoli beef, war wonton soup, and chicken fried rice!

Didn’t like the wonton soup. The wontons were very good minus the shrimp in them, the broth had a very unpleasant taste which reminded me of cheap shrimp ramen noodle instant soup. It didn’t taste like any other wonton soup I’ve had before. I couldn’t eat it. The pork fried rice was ok, wouldn’t eat it again though, for some reason they put cabbage in it and overall it’s pretty tasteless. The pecking pork was delicious. Will I order again? Most likely no…

I have tried this place twice now. The first time I tried of I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just told myself they were having a bad day and that’s why the food was horrible. Today we had the same exact issue, the food was well below par. I understand the«cheap» Chinese food thing, but the quality isn’t even worth the good prices. We got the family dinner, an order of Bao, and an order of cream cheese wontons. The hot and sour soup was gross, the Bao was the same quality I can buy at KP, and the cream cheese wontons were stale. While it is fantastic that they deliver, we got our food pretty much cold. Needless to say we will not be returning at this point. I’d rather go to Panda if I’m going to end up with that quality.

This has an AYCE menu for $ 16 bucks a person. You order from a list of select dishes which include appetizers and entrees. The entrée choices come in small 7×7 dishe sizes so it’s not a full plate. You can order as many as you want. I have not had this as the dishes I wanted were not a part of the AYCE. In search for a decent chinese restaurant, I think this is my go to in the Sacramento area. They have Chow Mein dishes — crispy noodles /hong kong /cantonese style which I always love, fried pork chops, and some mapo tofu. Price is on the cheaper side for the amount of food so another reason I like this place. Another highlight that I’ve enjoyed is their Wonton Soup. It’s got so much more than just your wontons and very tasty. Highly recommend. It has 2 $ signs but I think if you order 2 dishes and share with a friend, it can be under $ 10 a person as most of their dishes are under $ 10. Like every other place, $ 1.50 a rice bowl but if you are with a party, they will serve it all together in a big container — which i think is more than an actual small bowl size. I’ve never seen this place busy so never really a wait. If you are new to the area and looking for a chinese restaurant, definitely give this place a try. GOGOGOGO!!!

I want to safely say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Sacramento. It’s tucked in so unless you were brought here by someone or live around the area, you’ve probably never heard of it. I usually come during lunch and they’ll give you a side of soup and an egg roll along with your order if you choose from the lunch menu. My favorite is their orange chicken! It really redefines all the orange chicken you’ve ever had. I also like their egg fried rice, soy sauce chow mein, and sweet and sour soup. I will admit there is MSG and I know they use tenderizers to make the chicken softer, but it’s decent considering what’s available here. And perhaps I’m just too harsh with Chinese food ’cause I eat it all the time at home. Service is pretty consistent and they will deliver(with a small charge) within a 5 – 10 mile radius.

I can see why alot of people like this place. Prices are cheap, portions are great. To top it off, they deliver within 5 mile radius or so. Upon arrival, the place was pretty empty. It seems like majority of their business comes from take away. The person working the counter was busy taking phone orders from beginning to the end of my meal. The people are friendly and hardworking. But, their flooded phone orders prevent them providing any decent service sitting in. We ordered sweet sour soup, orange chicken, fried rice and chow mein. The soup was light in a good way. The orange chicken had too much tenderizer making it taste too artificial. It was also dry. Chow mein was super salty that it wasn’t bearable. The highlight was the fried rice, done quite well. If you are craving some cheap Chinese food with big portions around the area, this place will suffice. But, I don’t see myself returning given the quality

Since my friends kept talking about an AYCE Chinese food place, I decided to try it out on a weekday with some friends.(So this review is just purely on their AYCE menu). It’s $ 15.95 per person and it starts from 3pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. When we went in at 3pm, it was pretty empty, but we did come in a kind of awkward time. Anyways, even though the menu is huge, with every kind of Chinese/Cantonese dishes(from steamed fish to soup to dinner entrees), the AYCE menu is pretty small, with about a handful of appetizers and 20 entrees. We ordered almost all the appetizers, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, chow mein, fried rice, deep-fried pork chop, honey walnut prawns, and ma-po tofu.(This was for four people, and we were pretty full after this). The portion for each dish was pretty big for a buffet(especially the fried rice and chow mein); standard family style dish size. I was pretty impressed at how all the food came so quick after we ordered. It’s nice to be able to have everything on the table at once. Overall, the taste wasn’t bad. It was pretty good for an AYCE. Nothing was cooked sloppily, although some dishes could have tasted better. The honey walnut prawns, was kind of disappointing as it lacked a hint of sweet taste to it. The sesame chicken was also no-go. It was too salty and was not quite crispy enough. The fried squid had big hearty pieces, but it was kind of bland and didn’t have any taste to it. Fried rice tasted better and more flavorful than the chow mein, which was kind of bland. The hot and sour soup was done very well, which was surprising. I also really liked their Ma-po tofu; the flavor was good and the tofu was soft yet stayed intact. One of our favorite dishes was the Mongolian beef(I wish we had gotten two of these). Oh, and the foil wrap chicken(appetizers) was SO yummy. They come in small individual packages. I definitely recommend getting that! This place is definitely promising. 3.5 stars. Price matched taste pretty well. Just make sure you come with more people so you can order your money’s worth as the dishes are pretty big. The food in the AYCE menu wasn’t superb, but it wasn’t bad at all. I am curious to come back and try their non-AYCE menu and their more traditional entrees. I have a hunch that they’ll be better at cooking those dishes.

This review is for the lunch options. There are many facets to this establishment. From live seafood to AYCE to an extensive menu ranging from authentic dishes to pedestrian americanized and a nice quality array of options on the lunch specials. In addition a modest assortment of dim sum and noodle soups. I’ve been coming here for quite a few years and being that it’s reasonably close to work it ends up being the lunch hour when I dine here most frequently. The service is nice and the lady’s who run the front of the house are prompt efficient and very polite. They do like to keep things moving and I appreciate that during the lunch hour. The place is rarely packed but most times it’s fairly busy at lunch. They always have two waitress who work together very well. It seems like from order to appetizer is a couple minutes tops. By the time I enjoy the soup of the day, which varies frequently, and an egg roll that ranges from crisp and freshly made to to a tad soggy the lunch plates are placed on the table. The lunch deliciousness always makes up for any dip in the quality of the egg roll. The lunch plates are always very fresh, well seasoned and delicious. All lunch specials come plated with your choice of steamed /fried rice or a fairly bland thin noodle chow mien that isn’t the least bit greasy(which I appreciate and order with the right dish). The noodle soups hit the spot on a cold day but tend to be a bit on the bland side. There were a couple of delicious soups that were taken off the menu a while back. Apparently the purveyor for the very unique dumplings sourced from SF left the business. I never have that nasty MSG hangover after eating here. I’m not sure if it’s in the food or not. I suspect it is present, but using it with a judicious hand might just be what elevates the flavors so nicely. Prices are so reasonable for lunch. The location is a bit seedy and the restrooms could use some updating but it doesn’t detract from this being a 5 star lunch spot for me. Favorites lunch combos include: Black Peppercorn Steak Fillets Ma-Po Tofu with Shredded Pork Deep Fried Pork Chop Empress Chicken Spicy Eggplant Green Bean or Asparagus with any protein Sesame Chicken

HoiCin is a bastion of excellence in a sea of mediocrity. The food has a gourmet taste that is waaaaaay beyond just regular Chinese fare. It tastes great and the quality is consistent. There are a few good Chinese restaurants in my area(Rosemont Community) but none are as consistently good as HoiCin. I am glad they are in the community and that they deliver too!

So after writing a review about how limited Chinese food seems to be in Rancho Cordova, I started getting messages about what Chinese food places are worth going to after a bad experience. Hoicin was one of the named Chinese restaurants to go to so I decided to get some take out. Impressive ! The food was made fresh, tasted amazing, and the customer service was great. The lady that took our order even brought our food out to our car while we were waiting. I’ve found my go to place for my Chinese food cravings and I’m happy :)

We came back to give this place a second chance after our lackluster Fail on our last visit. We tried the made to order AYCE $ 15pp. The service was good today and all of the food was average to good. We tried the walnut prawns, pork fried rice, paper wrapped chicken, mongolian beef and deep fried pork chops. This place is a solid 3 – 3.5 stars with standard Chinese food. The only thing setting it apart from other places would be the made to order AYCE. If your in the area and craving Chinese this is a decent choice but not one to make a special trip for.

Was looking for an authentic chinese restaurant near rancho cordova with«off the menu» items. These guys serve great portions at a fair price. It will be my go-to chinese restaurant unless Im near south sac or broadway. I ordered — Ma po tofu: Awesome Peking spareribs: Awesome!

I was hoping this place would have been better, after seeing all the decent reviews, I took a chance this time and lost, the place looked run down(old looking furniture), there were 2 people dining when I got there, ordered the chicken wings(I had requested sweet thai chili sauce on the side) and a order of beef and broccoli. Once I got there I waited about 5 minutes for my order. Took off to the hotel when I open my order no Sweet chili thai and no rice, I call the store to let them know, and I am told sorry for the sauce and rice is extra? What? Wings were ok, had some spiciness and bits of jalapeño, the beef and broccoli was ok nothing special, weak sauce also not salty either, but this is the last time I come to this place.

First off, let me apologize for not having any pictures on this review. I showed up late and our party was already busy digging in to the tasty food. I will make it a point to get pics on my next visit . On to the good stuff. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30. We were the only patrons at this particular time so we received good service all around. Water and tea was always full, as well as the soda’s that we ordered. The Platters: Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice and Chow Mein. As you can tell, the theme was chicken and for some odd reason, everyone just happened to order these things without thinking. The food was very tasty and a positive note was that it wasn’t very salty. The orange chicken had a nice crunch from the batter but was still very moist and juicy. The orange glaze also had a very nice sweet taste which made for a nice pairing with the chow mein. The Kung Pao chicken was packed with flavor and as I mentioned earlier, was not very salty. It had a nice spice to it which gave your mouth a bit of a kick, but in a good way. The fried rice was light and fluffy and made a nice compliment to the main dishes. Overall, I was very impressed with Hoicin. I do want to come back when it’s a bit busier to see if we will receive the same great service we did today. Overall, well done Hoicin.
