Solid egg puffs and tasty desserts so far in the tiramisu flower pots and cold grass jelly. I loved how friendly and helpful the staff were with recommendations on our first visit. Will be back for sure to try the huge selection of savory dishes.

Been here several times now. The food is good, but service is slow. If you’re hungry, you’re probably going to be waiting for a bit. Also, prices increased, but that’s because it’s getting popular. The menu is still growing!

Cute little place that opened up not too long ago. i like that there’s so much variety on food, desserts, and drinks in the menu but I feel like it’s way too clustery. Unless you’re a usual then it’d be nearly impossible to try everything. even if you ate here every other month, there’s just so much to choose from on there. If it was closer to me then I wouldn’t mind coming every other week. But cute desserts overall, they do make you pay like 0.75 cents for some reason for wanting to keep the cute planter pot for the dessert, idk why when It’d be kind of unsanitary to reuse it. I wouldn’t know how to rate that plant dessert because that’s the first pudding kind I’ve had. So it wasn’t too bad. I believe there were two or three different flavors for the pudding desserts as well. We also ordered the egg puffs which was perfect in texture. &The milk teas were like any other place. Even with broken English, not like many other places, they weren’t rude. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with comparing, recommending, and conversing with us.

I went on 5÷8÷2016 with my mom and sister for mother’s day. this place is so cute and unique! they don’t only have desserts but also food! lots of ramen noodles/soups and more! but we wanted to go just for the desserts! we ordered the mango tiramisu and italian tiramisu flowerpots and the mango oolong tea milk pudding bottle! i was scared that i wouldn’t like them but i love them omg! they’re so good! the flowerpots they put cake at the bottom, pudding in the middle, and crumble oreos on top with a cute mini shovel! sooooo freaking delicious!!! also the milk pudding bottle the bottom was mango pudding, oolong tea jello, and rectangles boba! so good too! the workers(two ladies) were so nice and welcoming too. they will ask you if you would like to take home the mini glass bottle and they do charge you $ 1.50. not bad! i wanted to keep them anyways so iI was fine with paying the bottle! i don’t know what i want to use the bottle for but the flowerpots definitely putting mini plants! i saw a youtuber that’s living in south korea went to a similar place where they sell flowerpots desserts so i was looking up to see if there’s one close by me and there was! honey d café! i will definitely come back and try the food bc they look so yummy!

I’m not one to say this is good chinese food since this is taiwanese cooking and I haven’t much of it. But I thought the rice bowl I ordered was forgettable my wife order a seafood noodle soup which was better but not very much for $ 13. So in conclusion I’m not from Taiwan. Maybe the drinks and desserts are what they’re good at.

I swung by this place on Saturday night, and wow, this place was incredibly packed. Every table was occupied(there were only about 5 tables, but still…) and there was a crowd by the register placing to-go orders. They have a pretty extensive menu that includes drinks, desserts and food. I decided to try a large Matcha Sea Salt Latte for about $ 5. It was really good, very creamy — I could tell that they used real milk. The thick layer of crema on top complimented the drink well — the crema was only subtly salty, the perfect level of saltiness. Anything else would have been weird. I was very happy with my drink. I will definitely be back for another Matcha Sea Salt Latte and maybe try some of the food. Judging by how the tables were packed with people having dinner, the food probably won’t disappoint. P. S. The parking lot is really snug and there is a $ 10 minimum for debit/credit cards.

Milk tea was tasty but not extraordinary. Desserts like the pudding and tiramisu were very disappointing and overpriced :(the sizes were so tiny and I would rather spend my money on their drinks The tiramisu is purely for aesthetics

I did a search on Unilocal one day for«Egg Puff» or «Hong Kong Egg Waffle». I accidentally came across Honey D Café. I was just so excited to try out the actual Egg Puff. When I entered the café, I had the first impression that it’s a cute and clean place. It is VERY clean. They had a glass case at front filled with the Flower Pot desserts and the Milk Pudding desserts. The woman at the front that took my order was not very helpful in the beginning because she was not giving me suggestions.(I am the type that would like to have suggestions if I am new to the place). But after ordering the Egg Puff, Green Tea Tiramisu Flower Pot, and Passion Fruit Drink with Crystal Boba… she was very helpful. I was told that if you use your VISA or Debit card, you will need to at least buy $ 10.00 worth or you will be charged a fee. I ordered my food for take out and it took about less than 10 minutes. It was nicely packed… got home and enjoyed it. The flower pot dessert comes with a plastic pot and plastic shovel as a spoon. VERYCUTE! The egg puff was crispy and delicious. My passion fruit drink was delicious. I have to say when people say it taste like soap. Honestly… I grew up in Hawaii and we drink a lot of Passion Fruit… it can taste like soap because of its exotic flavor. But its not soapy at all. Im just familiar with the flavor. Over all it was a good place to try something different. The desserts are extremely cute. I will definitely return to try out the other desserts or dishes.

I’m not sure how long honey d has been here but they still had their grand opening sign up. Honey d has Asian(Taiwan?) style desserts, so bubble tea, egg puffs, pudding, and shaved ice. If you go, you HAVE to try one of the potted plant desserts. We had the tiramisu potted plant and on top of being very well presented(they give you a shovel shaped spoon!) it also was super creamThey also have pretty good food for dinner! We got some hot pot and it was a little spicy but it was delicious and it comes in a cool personal sized hot pot. The egg puffs were also perfectly crisp without being crunchy. The waitress was also very helpful and gave good suggestions when we were struggling what to order. But they didn’t have bi bim bap today. I’m not sure if they haven’t gotten it yet because they just opened or if they just ran out. All in all I give honey d 4 out of 5 potted plants!

4⁄5 for the flower pot tiramisu: a unique take on the trend of potted plant boba. It comes with a shovel spoon and a cute little pot. I tried the green tea and a bit of the classic tiramisu and both had good flavor and were also nice and fluffy. The Oreo was a good complement and finely crushed. It is a pretty small dessert. On the other hand, the other dessert and boba I tried weren’t that great. I tried a normal milk tea with crystal boba and the tea was just ok, a little too much milk in proportion. The boba was too chewy and not that tasty. I also tried the lychee jasmine milk tea pudding and it was disappointing. For one it seems reasonable to assume that you can take the jar home but it costs an additional $.50. They should have put that on the menu at least. The jelly wasn’t that good, although the pudding was delicious. It was a split dessert. I’d only suggest getting the tiramisu pot here.

10⁄100: I’ve tried this place twice and the first time was a big miss for me, but the second time was okay. Pros: — Located alongside different eateries in a tiny plaza on Freeport. — Menu consists or snacks, drinks, Asian desserts and food entrees. — Interior is cutesy and there is indoor seating available. — When they first opened, they only accepted cash at the time but now they accept card as well(I think there’s a $ 10 limit though) — There is a display upon entering the store that contains all the puddings and jellos so you can see what they look like. Cons: — Some items are pricey for the portions you get. — Service isn’t quite here. They’ll take your order, serve it to you, and that’s it. — Parking lot is so small and sometimes congested with cars so be careful going and leaving this place — The $ 10 limit on using card. You’d have to order either a few entrees or a lot of desserts and drinks to reach the limit. — Some of their drinks are off-putting in taste. So far I’ve had their Matcha Sea Salt Latte, Almond Sea Salt Latte, and Pineapple Boba tea and the only one I liked was the Matcha Sea Salt Latte. It wasn’t too salty nor too sweet. I’ve no idea what happened with their almond sea salt but that tasted horrible and coagulated often. I’ve also had their matcha potted plant, and their egg puffs. Egg puffs were just O-K, nothing like the egg puffs from Eggettes back here in the Bay Area. I like that their potted plant dessert had a cool shovel for a spoon!

All this review can speak to is 1) the service and 2) the egg puff. I came by for something sweet and had heard good things about the egg puff at Honey D Café. When I walked in, the staff was standing at the register. I said I wanted to just get something«to-go» and she gave me a strange look. I ordered the egg puff and she promptly turned to go make it. Service was fast and not necessarily«unfriendly» but didn’t leave me with the warm, welcoming sense either. I paid and left. Now to the egg puff — I have never had one before but have always wanted to try one. I thought it was delicious and cooked to perfection: crispier on the outside and soft, airy, and fluffy on the inside. It had the perfect balance of flavor and wasn’t overly sweet. I really liked it! I would come back to try other things, or just more egg puffs.

Growing up in an Asian household, I’m used to my desserts being slimy, chewy, soupy, creamy, icy, beany — whatever texture there is, you name it, I’ve eaten it in dessert form. That being said, I absolutely love Asian desserts! I think they’re not too sweet and have really fun textures, so I really enjoyed the soy pudding($ 4.95) at this place! Clumps of pudding on a bed of shaved ice, topped with homemade taro and sweet potato balls and a variety of boba and jellies, I was pretty much in dessert heaven. It comes with a tiny creamer you can add if you prefer your desserts a little sweeter and creamier. I also had the oolong sea salt latte($ 3.75) which I thought was super refreshing and unique tasting. I had never had tea with salted foam on top, and it sounds weird, but it’s actually pretty good! They also sell cute desserts you can grab and go in their refrigerator case and a bunch of savory items as well, like noodle bowls and popcorn chicken. I didn’t try any of these but they looked like your average Hong Kong/Taiwanese café fare. If you’re in the mood for a quick boba or asian dessert, I’d check this place out. There’s a small parking lot outside, so parking was a breeze and the place is a decent size with plenty of indoor(and outdoor) seating.

I finally got around to checking out Honey D. I didn’t know what to expect since this place has mixed reviews. I came here for dinner on Sunday night. This restaurant is small, but they also have patio seating. It was pretty busy, but luckily we managed to snag a table. I ordered the Honey D Special noodle soup. I substituted the ham for pork belly at no additional charge! As long as you substitute an item for another, it’s free! My friend ordered the pork bone soup. It took awhile for our food to arrive. The delicious smell of the fresh broth wafted through the air, and I knew my soup was made to order. Our soups came with a side of spicy meat sauce(?). I’m not exactly sure what it was, but it was delicious. The broth was very flavorful as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. However, I did only find one sliver of pork belly. Thank goodness I didn’t pay extra for that«substitution.» For dessert, I had the mango oolong pudding. It was just okay; I wouldn’t order it again. Customer service could be better. The employees looked as if they could care less. They were polite, but more so monotone than friendly. I do see myself returning for the soup! I still need to try the mango tiramisu and the other desserts too!

We tried the cute pudding desserts that were 3 for $ 10. You get to keep the glass jars! They were cute and deliciously refreshing for a hot summer day! We also tried their original egg puff and their crystal boba milk tea. The egg puff was pretty crispy tasting and the milk tea had more tea flavor and it was not overly sweet! The sweetness level was PERFECT! The boba was perfect too! I definitely would recommend this place!

Interior and exterior of the establishment is very clean and cute. The décor inside is appealing, but tables are limited. There is seating outdoors though. The pictures of food, snacks, and drinks are also extremely appealing to the eye. The menu is also HUGE! But this to me seems more of a quantity vs quality situation. I rather have a smaller menu if the flavors are met. Food: the popcorn chicken is good. Highly recommended snack to get! The breading to chicken is a nice ratio, I actually taste and see chicken. The little potted plant dessert is EXTREMELY adorable. Not only is your dessert in a pot, but the spoon you get is also looks like a shovel! I got the green tea one and it was very tasty. Strong green tea flavor, not too sweet. The red bean at the bottom is on the sweeter side but that didn’t bother me in the slightest. All around great fun dessert to get. Milk tea: The regular milk tea is way too watery. It’s not even a matter of a more milky or more tea ratio. It could be the ice, but even the very first sip seemed watered down to me. Roast sencha milk tea is better. It definitely has a tea flavor and is more fragrant. Not something everyone would like, but I prefer it over the regular milk tea. The boba? What boba. The two times I did come they were out of boba. They were nice to offer any other substitute so I got egg pudding(Yum. It was made nicely). However, this seems like a basic thing that should not happen to begin with. Seems kind of silly to have a milk tea place and not have any boba readily available. Someone should have made more the moment they saw that they were getting low. Service is nice though. The waitress was very attentive and always came to our table to check up on us. The lack of boba both times I came knock off a star and half The watery milk tea and lack of quality drink flavors also knock down a star. Probably will return for the little potted plant dessert

Get yourself an order of popcorn chicken, a boba drink and pudding jar and you’ll pretty much be set(for an hour or two)! I ordered the chicken from here to try them out and wow. It was so good I had to order another. It was lightly battered and delishness with a little drizzle of ketchup. They were definitely way above tap-X, Lollicup and Quicklys popcorn chicken… way way up! It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty. The second order was kilt without 2 mins of it hitting the table. For the puddings, I tried the lychee matcha and osmanthus lychee jars. The osmanthus, which the waitress said was the most popular, was great! The regular lychee matcha had a slightly tea-y/bitter taste on the first layer, it was ‘aight’. The second layer, which was the matcha pudding was nom-worthy. It was so good, it almost brought my friend to tears as she was eating it all in slo-mo. Guess she wanted to savor it… we even attempted to ask for the recipe but the owner said«shhh.secret.business only» or something like that, Boo! but it was understandable. You can keep the jars, too… as a souvenir and reuse it for when you try to attempt to recreate the said pudding. For boba dranks, I sampled the passion fruit milk tea with pudding and it was on point *2 thumbs up. I ordered the peach apple oolong tea. The flavor was more on the tea side with a splash of peach apple flavoring. with apple bits on the bottom. Crystal balls were okay, kinda a little more squishy than regular tap balls and it didn’t have flavor. I prolly wouldn’t get the balls again. Overall, food and dessert was great, drinks were good, and service was good. I’d like to come back and try their potted desserts.

Honey D is very similar to Bubble Café in San Francisco! They focus on Taiwanese style desserts along with a variety of noodle soups. Rounding up the stars because I had an overall pleasant experience at Honey D. Space and tables are very clean, service was prompt. I personally like fish balls in noodle soup so I got the N03(9.95). I subbed the broth for the spicy broth at an extra charge of 1 $. It’s a numbing type of Szechuan spicy with red chili peppers. If you feel like the broth is missing a little something, a reliable source says that no MSG is added. My mom tried the pork bone broth and it tastes authentic as well. I think the size of the bowl is reasonable for the price they charge. If you’re two hungry people walking in, I suggest you get your own bowl. The rice noodle is similar to the noodles you would get in bun bo hue. **If your taste buds are conservative and you’re not used to authentic Taiwanese desserts, you might enjoy the shaved snow, eggettes, or the jelly jars more than the tofu pudding desserts.** But for me, I’ve always wanted to try Taiwanese desserts with sweet potato and taro balls !! I was very excited for HD06 almond tea + tofu pudding with Choice No. 4, replacing the crystal boba with aloe. There was this cube of transparent green jelly that was very good! The house-made balls weren’t as good as I expected, but it’s similar to glutinous mochi. Impressed by the tofu pudding because it also tasted house-made. Not from the tubs of sweet tofu-fa you can get at the Asian market. The almond tea didn’t taste like it came from a powdered mixture, but who knows. It got too sweet towards the end but I thoroughly enjoyed this one :-)

I was excited when I heard this place was opening, but after trying this place… I could have waited longer. I came here during the soft opening, so they were probably not in full swing yet, but so far, their products are not looking 5-star promising. I ordered their original egg puffs, but it didn’t taste that good. The flavor was definitely off as it didn’t have a very delicious waffle-like taste. Their tiramisu didn’t blow me away either. The restaurant is very cute and orange(chairs). The design of their desserts is also pretty cute as they have desserts looking like plants and flavored milk puddings in cute glass bottles. This place is pretty Asian, meaning their desserts, food items, service seem more geared towards people from Asia, mainly Chinese speaking. The menu reminds me of many Asian dessert shops in the Bay Area. But the taste of their products… so far… cannot compare to the Asian dessert houses in the bay. The designs are cute, their concepts are in the right direction, but they need to step up the flavor/quality of their products. If they did step up the quality, this place could go far. My service was ok. It wasn’t bad because I let know them know what I needed or when I wanted to pay and they did their job. A female worker told me they will have wifi in the future and their grand opening is yet to come.

As soon as we heard about the new boba and dessert spot in town, we had to come! In fact, we came two days in a row. don’t judge us. We started off with the food menu and ordered noodle dishes. I got the two item combo with cilantro and fish broth, with lobster ball and sliced beef. I really enjoyed my broth, it had a lot of flavor! The lobster balls were good too but they only gave me two. There are plenty of other veggies that come in the soup as well, including bean sprouts, yuba, quail egg, green onion. It was definitely really good but I don’t know if I would come here JUST for soup. Now on to dessert. We started off with the tiramisu potted plant dessert; they were out of mango tiramisu that night :(It was really good, but didn’t taste like your traditional tiramisu. We also shared combo ice bowl, with sweet potato balls, tofu pudding, egg pudding, and brown sugar noodle jelly. It definitely had a distinct taste. I enjoyed the sweet potato and egg pudding but everything else I think I’ll pass on next time. For my drink, I ordered the crystal boba roast sencha milk tea — basically a roasted milk tea with boba. It was really good and the taste reminded me of the roasted milk tea over at Cool Tea Bar. On our next visit we tried the supreme mango snow ice — nothing like the photo… the snow doesn’t even tower over the edge of the bowl like the photos, in fact it’s not even taller than the bowl itself. It was $ 8 too. The owner(seems like she is the owner) gave us mango popping boba though since she came over and my boyfriend said he always tries the mango flavor things, so that was really kind of her. But I probably wouldn’t order that item again either. For my drink I tried the winter melon iced milk with boba. which I thought was the pretty green one in the photo but it definitely wasn’t, how misleading :(I basically got milk over ice with boba. haha but it did taste good so I won’t complain. Great service here, you rarely come to a boba place where they check on you! This is definitely a traditional dessert place instead of your more Americanized boba places that have been popping up everywhere. I will definitely be back, I want to try more of their drinks, their mango tiramisu, and the egg puffs!
