I have been to this auto shop two times and both times I thought the service was friendly, honest and reasonably priced. I would recommend to others.

I was about to pressure wash my house and realized it was really low on oil. The nearest parts store was pretty far so I called Craig down the street to see if I could buy some off of him. He agreed without hesitation to my unconventional request. Craig and his team were very friendly and quite helpful. Although I haven’t visited them for an auto repair, yet, I can attest to their professionalism and willingness to help. I will definitely be using them for my next auto repair need. Thanks Craig!

Finding a good automotive shop is difficult. Finding one that is 100% honest and trustworthy is even rarer. The bad thing about these reviews is that they get busier and busier and you sometimes must make an appointment far in advance. However, you can be comforted in that you will get the best service possible.

After marrying my husband, I had to move from Southern California to Sacramento for his work… after my whole life going to the same awesome mechanic (my parents have been going to his shop since I was in diapers and I also spent some time working for him before the move), I was really worried about finding a good mechanic in Sacramento. Fortunately we found Japanese Service Center 2!
My husband’s Camry was going to need front brakes and the dealership wanted entirely too much money for the job. I did some research, called a few shops, and we decided on JSC2. The man I spoke with on the phone was very nice and helpful, he gave us a reasonable quote along with some additional information that might affect the quote (ex: rotors too thin to turn). We made an appointment and dropped his car off that morning. They had a lot of cars there and I noticed they have an early bird drop-​off in case you need to drop off your car outside of business hours. The man explained that it would take most of the day to have the car done (which is totally expected with the workload they had) and he would call us if something came up (i.e. rotors). We hadn’t heard back and wanted to be sure we caught them before they closed so we gave them a call around 5:30. We were told that the brakes were done and when they took it for a test drive, noticed that the brakes didn’t respond as well as they should; so they took the liberty of bleeding the brakes, topping off the brake fluid, and retesting it… free of charge! They also explained that the rear drums were bell-​shaped, most likely due to the proximity of our house to the freeway which doesn’t allow the brakes to cool completely before applying the parking brake. Whaaaat?! That was news to us! We paid for the car (with everything, it still came in a few dollars UNDER the estimate) and drove away knowing we found our mechanic. :)
Everything about this shop, from the way the customers are treated, to the information given, and the care and attention they give to the cars reminds me of my family’s mechanic that we love so much. We know our cars are in good hands for however long we live in the area because we won’t be taking our cars anywhere else!

This place is as good as it gets. They do honest business and their work is always solid. They will not do the work, unless it is necessary, and they are diligent about helping you find the easiest and most economical solution for you, even teaching you how to make the repair. My family has been taking our cars here for years and will continue to do so. They are busy and usually book about two weeks out. Although there have been many times when I called to ask about a leak or a sound and they had me come on by and they took a quick peek to let me know if it was serious or just a quick adjustment. They work Mon-​Fri and offer early drop off option. Located right off the freeway and convenient access to the bus #2.

Finally! I get to write a positive review. I haven’t owned a Japanese car for awhile, so it had been a long time since I’d been in to JSC. It’s nice to see some things don’t change. The first time I came to JSC, I was a broke law student. I was told by another mechanic that my 12 year old Sentra needed a new carburetor and it was going to cost over $ 800. My car managed to limp over to JSC, where these good folks fixed it up for exactly $ 201. As it turned out, it only needed a good cleaning. I remember to this day because my car had not run so will since it was new. Today, I brought my fairly new mini-​van in (yup, I’m that guy, now) last minute and got it squared away no problem. I’m not as broke now, but I still appreciate honest dealing. The cost of parts and service was completely reasonable. I recommend JSC to all my friends. Thanks, Craig!

This is a great auto repair shop, one of the few places where I learned there is such a thing as an «honest mechanic.» So I called in about my SRS light being on and mentioned that I had someone do a reading on it before (and it turned out to be the seat belt buckle). The person from this auto shop told me to bring it into the dealer as Honda has a lifetime warranty for seat belt buckles and, sure enough, when I brought it in, Honda dealer said they’ll fix it for free. THANK YOU for the honest tip on how to get my car fixed for free! The next time my car has an issue that isn’t under warranty, I’ll bring my car here to get it fixed. You guys rock!

This is the best place to take your car. Howard hooks me up always, is very knowledgeable and has worked late just to get my back my car when I needed it. There have been several things I needed done and will always take it here. I have not had the other service people work on my car, just howard, but I am sure they are all great.

I’ve been a customer of JPC2 since around 1991 or so and Craig has always been honest with what I need to get done. My alternator just died a couple days ago and Craig squeezed me in and changed it out along with a new battery and oil change. I can’t say enough about what a wonderful place this is. You never have to worry about being over charged and the prices are very reasonable. I have popped in numerous times for Craig, Gordon and Howard to check out things for no charge and even change my tire for free. I live farther away now, but for anything major I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. I sometimes get my oil changed elsewhere for the convenience, but that’s it. I seldom do reviews, but I have to say that Craig and JPC2, on a scale of 1 to 5 stars is a 10!

Well, after my experience today, it is very clear why this shop has 5 stars. I live just a few miles away, & was just about to get on the freeway to head to a birthday celebration, when my car did this very brief & very unusual lurch, & then my check engine light came on. Having previously read all the reviews on this shop, I decided to stop in & see what the might be able to do, although it was already after 4:00 PM. And, not only did they take the time to evaluate the problem, they resolved it for now, referred me to a reputable transmission shop, & only charged me for the transmission fluid that I needed! They now have 2 new customers, as both my daughter & I will be taking our cars here in the future. Thank you again, for the outstanding diagnostic skills & customer service!

Japanese a Service Center 2 has been taking care of the family cars for years– and lots of friends, too.
Nothing special, nothing fancy, just an honest shop that does a very efficient job with mechanical work. Considering how hard it is to find even a straightforward, honest mechanic for all of the routine stuff I don’t have time to do myself, JSC2 is a lovely little find.

Engine light came on after an oil change at Big O Tires. Went back to Big O Tires two times for assistance and both times was told I needed to go to a smog station. Went to a couple of smog stations and several other repair shops for assistance. Received zero assistance — either was told to come back when they had time or pay BIG bucks to diagnose and fix the engine light problem. Went to JSC 2, and in less than 10 minutes, the problem was resolved. The problem was a tube that was disconnected during the original oil change at Big O Tires. I’m definitely going back to JSC 2 for servicing of my Toyota.

Had a somewhat complicated problem, engine light, paid the dealer to fix, problem kept recurring brought it here, voila! Problem fixed. Very skeptical about auto repair in general. Think we have found our go to auto repair for our Toyotas.

Craig (Owner) is great to deal with and very honest and forthright. I have been using them for years and recommend them to everybody I know. If you need an «honest» place that will fix it right, this is the place.

I don’t do many reviews, but since I was signed in today, I wanted to review this place. At the beginning of summer last year we were getting ready to go on an extended road trip up through Oregon, Washington and BC. I was hearing a noise in the water pump area of my 2007 Rav4 @ 62k miles. I also do most of my own oil changes, and one of the service items at 60k miles was torqing some driveshaft bolts.
So I dropped in (no appointment) here to have them look at the water pump. He and his mechanics looked at it and determined that it was the water pump, but they were booked for the next few days. He suggested I try and get the dealer/​toyota to pay for part of it since my 60k warranty had just expired. Meanwhile he torqed the bolts. No charge.
I was able to get Toyota and the dealer to pay for part of the repair. I will be going back here when I need something else.

The Best. Craig and his team are honest, thorough and quick. And, probably most important for me — PATIENT. They will take the time to answer my many (often stupid) questions and discuss different options for addressing a problem. An all-​around good experience every time.

Ive heard a lot of good things about JSC2 from friends and family. So when my TSX needed its A1 service, I took it in for the first time. It was the best decision Ive made for my car. They told me my options, the cost and in the end broke down some details about what they did and what might need to be done now or down the road. During that visit, I was very surprised that I had 30% rear brakes left. I have to admit I was a little skeptical, but around my next service was up, my rear wheels started to squeak. I brought my TSX in and sure enough my rear brakes were out.
Really appreciate the good customer service, efficiency, honesty, sound advice and expertise. Definitely recommend.

Craig, I believe he is the owner, was of much help. Service was so good that I decided to update my review and provide a little more detail on my visits here.
My car was making this weird noise for the past year and I had no idea what was causing it. Stupid me waited like a year to finally take it in. My car is still fairly new and I don’t plan on purchasing a new car anytime soon (working on getting that HOUSE!) so I had to make sure that my car wasn’t going to break down on me.
I call JSC and told them what the problem was. Craig told me to bring my car in and he will take a look at it. I asked him how much would that cost and he said… here’s the best part: We don’t charge you unless you decide to do service with us. We will look into it and let you know. BEST answer ever! Other places will charge you easily for a diagnostic! So I take my car in and of course I brought it in on a different day than the appointment. Craig was way cool and laughed and said it was ok. I felt so bad because my appointment was actually the day before, stupid me again! He told me that he will call me back once his staff looks into the problem. Turned out that my wheel barring was all messed up and that was causing that weird noise and rattling sound. He said that he can fix it that same day if I wanted it done and I said YES PLEASE!
My car was ready for pick up later that day, on Friday evening at around 6:00PM. I asked him if I can pick it up Saturday morning since I was out to dinner with my family. He told me that they aren’t open on the weekends. So I’m stuck wondering how the heck am I supposed to get my car when they are about to close and not open over the weekend, I needed my car to get around! Craig was very nice and helped me out. He said that he would park my car right by the door and hold on to my keys for me and that I could come later that night to pick up my car if I have a spare key. Great idea! He even allowed me to pay over the phone! He held on to my receipt and keys and I was able to pick them up the following Monday. Oh, any my car? It dove like butter! No weird sounds!
I came back to have my brake fixed a couple months later. Again, excellent service! As far as pricing goes, I don’t know crap about how much car parts costs. I trust that Craig doesn’t rip his customers off, that’s why the ratings are so high!
I will forever take my car here if and when it needs work :)
