I LOVE KOBASICS! This family owned chocolate shop is a gem hidden in a quiet residential neighborhood. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and the delicious «kruffles» (their version of truffles) keep me coming back. I love supporting local family business and the staff here is extremely friendly. Besides their kruffles they also sell chocolate dipped chips/​pretzels, different types of nut brittle, ice cream, webkinz toys, and chocolate dipped strawberries. I always get excited when a holiday comes near because my husband always orders me a dozen of their delicious chocolate dipped strawberries. They are definitely WAY better (and fresher) than Shari’s berries but make sure you order them ahead of time!

I personally don’t like this store and will not return. When walking into the store, it’s more of an odd feeling instead of welcoming. The place look dirty and the chocolate were so so.

What a great local business! I was recommended to try Kobasic’s Candies on Riverside by a coworker and discovered a hidden gem in my own backyard. The unassuming candy shop is located on Riverside Boulevard between Seamus and the Westin on the river side of the street. You may miss it on the first pass, so prepare for a careful and legal U-​Turn.
The shop is rather old, but the quality of the candy is the main attraction — beyond the massive selection of stuffed animals greeting you as you enter. Chocolate is the main event with a wide variety of handmade truffles, caramels, and other assortments. Staff is nearly as sweet as the candy, willing to showcase their many specialty and unique flavor options. There are also ice cream and other candy options available.
On my visit, I sampled several options including their popular salted caramel and milk chocolate truffle. They have some unique flavors including lemon caramel and peanut butter potato chip as well as some liqueur laced sweets for adults. The salted caramel was perfect with a great mouth feel and flavor. Although they are perishable, the candy tastes much better near room temperature.
Although the location and overall condition of the store are a bit rough, those making the journey will be rewarded with classic American-​style confections. This is a great place to take kids for a special treat, or just treat the kid inside yourself!

It’s hard to make bad chocolate, especially when it’s your specialty. Kobasic’s is some good chocolate. They have almost every flavor you could ask for. Coconut, sea salt, caramel, cherry, raspberry. All good.
Only it’s just… not as good as See’s. I don’t know why, it just isn’t. I like the flavors at See’s better. And considering their prices are not too different, I’d rather go there. I don’t usually like chains when independent stores are an option but in this case I’d choose See’s. This place definitely will do the job though if See’s ever chooses to close.

We live not far away but have taken years to finally stop in today, Easter Sunday. Alas, they were out of peanut butter easter eggs, but had the same special peanut butter filling in their truffles (Kruffles, K for Kobasic). Superb! and only made at Easter. Also tried the peanut butter potato chip kruffle, which I just LOVED. Salty and peanutty, covered in fresh delicious chocolate. Yummy!

Truly amazing 3^rd generation confectioners! Their selection is fresh and quite reasonable. Other reviews mention the ‘off beat’ location ~ but that’s part of adventure to enjoy local homemade candies. Counter staff was very friendly, helpful. Recommend visiting by car or bicycle ~ get treats and then picnic along Riverside levee park

Excellent little candy shop… a little bit hard to find but well worth it once you get there! They even have cute little stuffed animals to make your little gift complete !! Gazillion types of chocolate chocolate chocolate!. And omg don’t forget to try the salted caramel! Amazing!

Randomly rode by while on the American River Trail and had time to look this place up. Saw some stellar reviews and turned around to check it out.
It’s mom and pop to the core (3^rd and 4^th generation, currently, if my facts are correct). The vibe from the décor, etc., was a bit old school, which I mean in the best way possible! The owner came out to greet me and ask if I needed any help. He waited very patiently as I tried to figure out what to get. I chose his most popular (salted caramel) and he gave me a sample to try. It was really, really good! I’m sure he would’ve let me try more but I felt bad for taking up his attention and time and picked a few out to take home. He didn’t seem like he minded at all because he just stuck around and humored me with a few stories. He mentioned that he used to supply Costco with a lot of their chocolates, but ended up cutting those operations to focus on being a mom and pop shop again to get back to doing what he enjoyed. It all made sense because I felt that the product and customer (me) are what mattered to him.
Individual chocolates come out to a little over a dollar each, and are well worth every penny. To they lay person that just enjoys chocolate because it tastes good (not a huge chocolate connoisseur, even though I probably eat enough to be one) I’d say that these are on par with Ginger Elizabeth’s. I wouldn’t hesitate to trek here to get my chocolate fix, especially because they are open seven days a week.
If you like good chocolate and want to support a local business built on tradition, then stop by. You won’t regret it.

I’m torn because the candy store is amaze-​balls. But, the event room, and catering is a mess in an address.
If I was rating the candy store alone, I would rate it 5 stars, 10 stars!!! The candy is delicious. It really is crafted by the people working there, and they are so nice. The woman suggested some amazing candy to me.
I loved the pralines covered in brown sugar. It was to die for!!! And the peanut balls? Can you say yum?!? Yes. Yum.
The event room is a 2 maybe 3 star… good assessment is that it was mediocre… And I don’t want no mediocre.
But the décor was pretty, and the acoustics is good. My biggest complaint was that they were straight up cleaning tables, taking off table cloths and stacking chairs while the party was going on. I felt like I got kicked out of my table:.: so… Mess in an address.
If it were not for the candy store, I would have been seriously disappointed.

Best truffles and caramels in the US. I’ll never look at Godiva or Sees the same way after having tasted these. The staff are friendly and creative.

Kobasics is definitely a little eclectic but it’s very unassuming and they let the chocolate speak for itself. They sell incredible «kruffles» in a huge variety of flavors, chocolate covered fruit, homemade peanut butter cups (which are incredible), and so much more. I highly recommend a stop of you’re in the area and need a chocolate fix! I come every time I’m in town!

Best candy store EVER! I love that it’s a small family owned business. There are a ton of candies to choose from and the owner is more than happy to guide you through the chocolate goodness. I purchased a variety of caramels, homemade marshmallows and chocolate covered honeycomb. It was all delicious. My favorite caramel was the balsamic vinegar. Or maybe the one made with Japanese wine. Or the salted caramel. Dang it! It was all good! The marshmallows were fluffy and the honeycomb didn’t last long at all. I had hoped to make it back for Easter but my diet wouldn’t allow that. Kobasic’s is my choice for when I need a chocolate fix.

I drive 30 miles to get my chocolate fix… where else can you chat with the owners and chocolate artists to sample their latest work of art… I am hooked on their hand made truffles… right now my favorite is the cayenne Carmel and the balsamic… oh and the key lime… oh wait it’s the salted Carmel… oh wait the fudge… oh the ice cream is amazing too… on wait give me a honey comb too and some brittle… oh just gift box the store to save me time…

What the what?! I’ve been in Sacramento for years and didn’t know about this hidden gem in South Land Park. Don’t leave without trying the vanilla sea salt truffle or peanut butter cups!!! I kind of went nuts today. I bought truffles for my neighbors, colleagues, and myself. Still only $ 15 later with a bunch of truffles. The chocolates are made fresh and DON’T have the usual chemicals in them like paraffin. I kinda like that you’ve got to eat them in 2 days or store them in the fridge because there is something seriously wrong if your food can sit out for a month without going bad! Check this place out.

A wonderful family owed and local candy shop. It’s a bit cluttered in there but the customer service is great and the candy is THE BOMB! The salted vanilla caramel’s are to die for! Not the greatest location and if you blink you will miss it but if you find it… it’s definitely worth the hunt. :)

I absolutely love this place! Family owned and they are third/​fourth generation chocolate makers. They are friendly and have quite a few regulars. I love their kruffles and dark chocolate barks especially with almonds, cashews, walnuts, or coconut in them. Definitely give them a try. They make a variety of flavors and also combine some flavors you would never think would go well with each other such as peanut butter and chips. They also grind their own peanut butter which makes it even tastier!

This place is amazing. It’s a small little shop tucked away in an unassuming lot but the lady at the front had wonderful service. She was patient about talking through some of many many different flavored Kruffles. I tried a sample and although I was there to pick up some chocolates for my friend I couldn’t help but pick up a box for my self ;)
They have so many options that you will probably find something you like. I love the caramel one with a little cayenne kick! And the dark chocolate Kruffles.
Their chocolates come with a one to two day perishable warning label though, which is fine by me because I don’t want those preservatives anyways but means you should plan accordingly. They said you can refrigerate them though.

Unless you know the neighborhood, it’s a little difficult to find. When you enter, not only are you surrounded by homemade chocolates but also a wide variety of toys and trinkets.
The chocolates range from simple milk chocolates to wine flavored truffles. A variety of Easter bunny to peanut brittle canvas the center tables. I have never had anything bad here.
The owner Jim is there almost everyday. If you’re from the neighborhood you might remember Jim’s Market (formally Bonanza Market) Well, he is the same Jim. Great guy, always willing to give a sample (wink)
The toys range from collectible stuffed animals to beautiful porcelain pieces to home made wooden rocking horses.
This place is worth the stop in, not only is the chocolate great but the prices are far more reasonable than the boutiques downtown.

Received a box of caramels from a dear friend. Balsamic vinegar caramel was tangy. Both the lemon and orange caramels had a nice citrus finish to offset the sweetness and the cayenne caramel is just sweet heat-​my absolute favorite. Didn’t enjoy the cinnamon caramel-​it was just too altoid tasting.
Every time I’m back in Sacramento I stop by to stock up on these homemade caramels. They also have kruffles and an assortment of other candies to enjoy. This little candy shop is also the resting place of every freaking beanie baby ever made. They literally just cover half the store. I suppose you could pick up some chocolates and a beanie baby as a gift for someone.
