Great service! I’m vegetarian so I got the lemon grass tofu dish and it was delicious! Their tofu was amazing and very fads service then we were treated with the ginger ice cream! Best ice cream I’ve ever had! Pretty high end place inside and parking is in back but the prices were not bad for the quality of food and service definitely will be coming back!

Loved the shaking beef and the pad Thai. They were absolutely amazing. The salad rolls were super refreshing and the service was great. Got our food and we were in and out in under an hour. Loved it was a little under dressed cuz it’s a bit fancy.

I am always down to try out Thai restaurants; especially in different areas. Lemon Grass was the closest restaurant to my friend’s apartment in Sac so we decided to give it a try! The place looked pretty fancy — We thought we were under dressed! When you walk in through the entrance, there’s a bar where you could also order food with your alcoholic beverage if you don’t want to be seated in the dining area. Our waiter was very informative and attentive. Food was a bit pricier than I thought it would be, but maybe it was because we came in around dinner time. I ordered their green chicken curry with brown rice and my friend ordered their Shaking beef. The curry was sooo tasty even though it looked like yellow curry. On the menu it said it was spicy, but it had just a little kick so I was able to add some extra chili sauce to it ;) It was probably the best«green» curry I’ve had. Serving size was pretty big. I couldn’t finish it so they packed up our leftovers and even gave extra rice! I will come back again to try their desserts and maybe come around lunch time instead.

Beautiful setting, reasonable wine list with some nice selections. There was kitchen weirdness, though. My husband had the Shaking Beef. The beef was outstanding, and largely the veggies very nice. The sautéed onion pieces were raw, not warm, and covered with cooking oil. Someone forgot to fire up the griddle? Similarly, I had the Ahi special. The fish was overcooked for seared Ahi — still raw as you’d expect in the middle, but not seared… Like it’d been on a too cool griddle, for too long. Otherwise, nice piece of fish, the yellow curry and peanut sauce served with were delightful, the veggies very nice. We both had the fried rice, but it didn’t present as fried at all — just orange rice in a bowl with a couple peas. If someone can figure out how to get some heat to the cooking surface, all these oddities would be resolved I suspect. Great menu concepts, a few shortfalls in the implementation. Service was top drawer…

Have been here several times, and food is hit or miss. And when you hit it, it’s like a home run, but when you miss it, it’s like no saving from it. Last night(04.28.16), we went with our neighbors and had a good time, conversation wise. Our neighbors ordered the special, I ordered Monk’s curry, and my husband ordered Pad Thai. We also ordered salad roll, spring veggie roll, and papaya salad. Everything was delicious except Pad Thai. It was horrible. Very bland, tasteless, and some parts, sauce-less. Also, our server(Eileen) was not very attentive or knowledgeable either. Our friend wanted to order a red blend and asked the server opinion, and her response was«I don’t really know». Even if you are not a wine drinker, if you are a server, know your wine list, especially for glass orders. It’s not like the list is really long… She also would go away for a long time, and will not check on us. My husband had to get up twice during the night to either go get something or go get her attention. My husband asked for additional sauce because his Pad Thai was so tasteless. I tried it, and it was one of the worse Pad Thai I ever tasted. No sauce flavoring, just like eating plain noodles with vegetables. Some peanut crumbs, that was about it. Maybe they forgot to add some sauce ingredients? Not sure, but I highly recommend you to NOT try their Pad Thai. When Eileen, the server was taking my husband’s dish away, she asked if additional sauce made it better, and he said no. She said she would talk to the manager, but we never heard what happened to it. Manager never came to talk to us or nothing was taken off our ticket. So, avoid Pad Thai at all cost. Salad rolls are great. Crispy spring rolls are fantastic with when you roll them with lettuce, basil, and mint they come with. Papaya salad usually comes with shrimp, and they are fantastic as well. Love their yellow curry sauce. Green curry sauce is okay, but my husband likes it. I also like their Pork Medallions, but not the ketchup-y rice it comes with. Try substituting with extra vegetables or plain brown/jasmine rice. If you like ginger, their Ginger Ice Cream is a must-try. The specials are usually not the same on the weekend, so I highly recommend going during the weekdays. Reservations highly recommended on weekend too.

The lemongrass beef is good as long as you order the rice paper not already wet as well as a bowl of water, otherwise the rice paper is a sticky mess that’s impossible to sort through. The waiter today was lacking, but the busser(Jose) was very service oriented and helpful and friendly and made up for any lack of service elsewhere!

I really enjoyed the authentic Southeast Asian flavor at Lemon Grass. The naturally raised beef from Niman Ranch was deliciously prepared medium rare as requested. Nice spot for a classy no-rush business lunch.

The chicken medallions I had for lunch were amazing. The side salad was large, fresh and had a great dressing. The Saigon by Night espresso float for dessert was the perfect ending to a great meal.

My wife and I have enjoyed the fare at Lemon Grass over the years. Never really got the hype. The food is OK, but insanely expensive in comparison to other restaurants of the type. Ms Phan is apparently better at marketing than going to the market. But last Friday night they did the one thing that I personally find inexcusable. I phoned in to make a to go order, as we have done for years. I was politely(almost too politely) told there would be no to go orders because ‘we’re just too busy’. Hogwash. There is no logic to refusing business. No science there. I tried to complain via LG’s corporate contact and other electronic means, but Phan has all commentary options disabled. We will never dine there again, or at any of the other franchises owned by such arrogant people.

First time here & absolutely loved it!!! I’ve had tons of thai food and this place trumps them all in Sacramento for sure! Especially the spicy basil eggplant with onions and cashews

Another fabulous place to eat in Sacramento. The Thai Peanut Steak is delicious! The service is wonderful and fast. A friendly greeting when you walk in and an upscale atmosphere that makes dining there very nice.

Nice place but the authenticity wasn’t quite there. Food not packing as much flavor as I’m use to. But the staff was great very attentive and the the price was reasonable. Maybe next time I’ll try sum thing else. Maybe.

The lemongrass beef is SOOOOO good. I absolutely love making my own spring rolls here. The beef is so tender and delishious and it’s not really on the menu but they still make it.

The service here was great and I had a great dining experience. It’s also a nice environment for a date or something special. Sadly, this will be my first and last time dinning here. Although the food was not bad, there was a difference between the imitation Thai food here and Thai food at other Thai restaurants. From a unbiased point of view, I do still think that Lemon Grass deserves 5 stars based on my first visit. I wouldn’t recommend this place, though, if you have a strict Asian tongue.

I’ve been here about 5 times now. Great experience every time. Food is delicious and the service is awesome. I try a different dish every time, they have all been exceptional. What else is there to say? Give this place a try.

This is my mom’s favorite restaurant in all of Sacramento. Delicious Thai food that hits the spot. Look for the 5 spice Peking duck on special nights.

I’ve been to Lemon Grass a handful of times and I always leave feeling good… never wow-ed but never disappointed… just content I would say! Part of my job requires me to take potential candidates to nice, Sacramento based restaurants and honestly, Lemon Grass is an easy go to restaurant. The atmosphere is always eloquent and there is hardly a wait. I would say it is tucked in a secluded spot so it seems more like a hidden gem of Sacramento if you are looking for Thai food. My go to dish is always the pad thai which I greatly appreciate how it comes with prawns and chicken :) Also, one must try the Thai tea! Delish! Most recently, I tried to garden rolls and they were refreshing! Came with tofu and mushroom. All in all, if you are looking for a quiet environment and want to enjoy company/conversation, go to Lemon Grass.

Had a very nice dinner with my boss and coworkers. Very nice restaurant with attentive servers. I had Pad Thai which was good … Just not a spicy as I like but I added hot sauce and it was perfect!

I live in the neighborhood and this is the only restaurant I haven’t eaten at. We usually go to South Sac to get our Asian food. After 4 years of living here, we decided to give it a try tonight. We knew that it wouldn’t be totally authentic and probably cater to the area. But it was worse than we imagined. Each dish we ordered was $ 15 – 20 each and way too salty. Not the right mix of herbs and spices. We felt embarrassed to be there. Never again! Sorry but we’d much rather drive the distance and get some authentic Viet food for half the price.

We have been going to Lemon Grass for years. The food is consistently good, as is the service and the ambience. We eat out almost every night that Lemon Grass stays on our once a week list always. What a great way to enjoy the evening!

This is a great little high end Thai restaurant for having a lunch meeting. The food is not as flavorful as I have experienced Thai food in the past but it does taste fresh and they have excellent presentation. I would return here not for the food but for the environment and atmosphere they have created.

Heard good reviews of this place so decided to take my coworkers here for one of their birthdays. Came during the lunch rush, but some seats still available. Seated promptly and ordered drinks. Took over ten minutes to order, but it was OK since we got an appetizer that came out quick. Then we waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. Hour went by and still no food. No matter how much the waiter checked and said«it will be right out. The kitchen is backed up with all the people ordering«. All the while other tables who came after us got their food and finished. Granted we had six people, but come on. An hour and no entrée? Time to bounce at this time. Service was good, for what it was worth of refilling water for an hour. So zero stars for the kitchen who probably lost our ticket.

Paid $ 18 for some white washed Pad Thai. It was awful. Never again. Go to the next parking lot over to Thai House. I’m not a big fan of that place… but sure beats this in price and flavor. Oh and to top it off… I ordered it to go and they forgot to pack utensils and napkins. Smfh.

Service was good, really liked how professional the staff was; just wish they were a little more attentive, especially in filling up water. The food was kind of bland, I had Pad Thai with tofu and it wasn’t alright, definitely not worth the price. The chocolate cake with orange filling was really good, may come back for dessert only next time.

Talk about a hidden gem, unless someone tells you about this restaurant you barely notice it! I first came here when my husbands boss invited us here for dinner. I initially was surprised walking in not expecting it to look as great as it did. I was a little hesitant to try some of the food because at that time Asian cuisine was still new to me. We got the vegetable egg rolls which were AMAZING! I then ordered the special which was a beef skewer Dish and couldn’t believe how delicious it was. We got the sticky rice with mango for desert which I was not expecting to be good but was also delicious. Me and my husband came back a couple months later and the waiter we had remembered the exact soft drinks we ordered two months ago THE same exact ones! The service here is amazing if you get the right server. The food is great although some dishes are better than others depending on your palette. All in all this is a great fine dining restaurant hidden in Arden and is great for date night or just a special night out with out having to go too far. We are always satisfied when coming here thanks lemongrass!

We ordered an Ahi special for that day and the Thai green curry(Thai spicy). Food wise, the presentation is amazing and is very fitting for the dynamic of the restaurant(comes off as slightly more«fancy» and caters to an older, more professional clientele). Obviously this place is an Asian fusion place, so I’m not going to knock points off for it not being as legit/authentic as other Thai or Vietnamese places in the area. However, for the price that we were paying for the dishes, it wasn’t worth it unless you’re someone who likes paying extra for the dining experience(service provided by people who are dressed well, Are Caucasian, speak English, etc). Yes, it was good and filling, but there are plenty of restaurants who serve the same food with the same flavor and satisfaction for half the price.

This restaurant is part of the Star Ginger group. I contacted their corporate office in late December to inform them of our negative experience, and to date have not received any acknowledgment. The food was adequate, but not spectacular. The service for our near $ 200 meal(large group) was astonishingly and unacceptably bad. I agree with the other poster that the bus staff do well, but the hostess and server handling our group need a remedial course on basic customer service. This place appears to want to be high-end, but seriously misses the mark. Take your good money and go elsewhere.

Can’t really review this place since I didn’t get to eat there. I looked for it and when I found it, it wasn’t open yet. According to here it’s open at 11:30 am and I went by there at 10:55 am but didn’t see any cars parked out front.
