I love old~school liquor stores especially the one’s like M&B’s who have the original vintage electrical sign up on the front of the building like they do. I have no idea what they call these things but they transport me way back to my days as a kid in San Jose where I spent a lot of my childhood growing up with my grandmother and we drove by the Pink Poodle who had the most amazing old~school sign at least once or twice a week as we’d run errands and shop and there’s something very nostalgic about these old school designed things… Ahhhhhh memories… At any rate I’m getting off track again. Their booze is very competitively priced with damn good selections of wines and hard liquor. What else can you say about a liquor store except that you expect to be hosed for the convenience when shopping in one. Swung in here on my way back home after a pit stop at the .99cent store which also shares this lil gem’s parking lot and was out of my favorite brand of boxed wine so I took a chance. Although they don’t carry my brand they did have some so for a little store like that to even carry boxed vino warmed my icy cold heart… The dude behind the counter was beyond pleasant, friendly, helpful and he smiled as I rung up my alternative purchase of a 1.5L bottle of white wine and purchased two scratchers as yes they do have a good selection of lottery scratchers and a lottery station there as well for the big ticket games like Mega Millions and the like. The stores very clean and didn’t smell like poo poo like so many do either; added bonus! Not sure how many more times I will be back in since I grab my elixirs at Walmart’s and CVS’s mainly but felt compelled to document the positive customer service, very competitive prices and old~school feel of this lil gem.
