Just had my first experience at Mad Subs and this is definitely my new favorite place! Their sandwiches are legit, made with high quality meats and breads. I had a make-your-own hot Pastrami on marble rye and it was divine! Pastrami has really deep flavor but not too salty, and the garlic sauce they slash on the sandwiches is SO good! They also have a cool rewards program to earn free sandwiches! Can’t wait to go back and try their tri-tip & pulled-pork, and home-made meatball subs!!!

Heard this place was really good so decided to come in and try it out. This place is definitely now my favorite spot. Will definitely be coming in after school and practice. STUDENTS bring ID! You get a discount and it’s also pretty cheap for the amount of meat they have. Great quality!

I’m from philly(I know — f me) and while mad subs is not quite on the level of the best of the best like pastrami in nyc or a cheesesteak on south street, it’s solid and gives me hope that there is a legit shop in California. An honest 4+ stars and +1 for the pics of the boys in uniform on the wall. 21 gun salute from this patron.

Best sandwich shop around town. Forget Mr. Pickles and they’re inconsistent food they provide. Mad Subs not only has the skill to provide tasty and delicious food at a reasonable cost and they’re customer service is awesome! I’ll keep coming back for more

They have a lot of options to choose from. Tried the divine swine with ½ pulled & ½ ham with BBQ on a dutch crunch sandwich. It was $ 7.48 and had a good amount of meat. The brisket was excellent and also had a large amount of meat with the right balance of veggies. It was $ 7.99. The staff is friendly and fast. We will be back for more.

This is the place I go to get a great sandwich. The fact that it is hard to find a great sandwich spot and subway is disgusting I’m glad I found this place. The sandwiches are excellent and they don’t short you on meat. The owner of Mad Subs is very friendly and has great customer service. I usually get the Stallone sandwich when I go and it is very delicious. If you appreciate a great sandwich this is the place to go. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. Check it out!

I live in san jose, I came here with my mom for a random adventure. I wanted something light feeling and not too greasy. We stumbled upon this little gem. I had the #13 and she had #15. It was hands down the best sandwich we have ever had! Everything from the bread, veggies, and the fillings were fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to visit Sacramento soon and eat here again!

The food was good. And the service was great too! It feels like a family owned business. I’m not sure if it is though. My dad ordered the #11 on Dutch crunch bread for me. It was delicious. We also ordered cookies. It took a little while to get the cookies, because they were baking them fresh! I would give them a 5 star rating if they had a bigger drink choice.

When you’re mad hungry and are in need for some good comfort food during lunchtime, the first thing many of us crave is a good hearty sandwich. The problem is, especially in this neck of the woods, all they have out there is a Subway on every block, literally. Well if you’re looking for something a little bit different, then look no further because I’ve got you covered with«Mad Subs». Located on busy Madison Ave. in the Foothill Farms/Carmichael area of Sacramento, «Mad Subs» took over the space of what was once a Mr. Pickles. The location can be fairly tricky to find since because its tucked back quite a bit in the strip mall. And considering that traffic on this street averages around 50mph, you need to turn in quickly or else you’ll drive right past it. I came on a Saturday afternoon in early August as it was fairly busy. The inside has a few tables for dining in but no outdoor seating. You will also find a nice variety of bottled beverages, an assortment of chips, and a small sticker vending machine for the kids. I was also impressed by some of the classic black and white photographs that gave it a vintage look. It doesn’t quite fit in this type of establishment but I still dig the retro look. After examining the menu both on Unilocal and in person, I walked right up to the counter and ordered my sandwich. I actually was helped by Mark, who was the owner of «Mad Subs». There were also a few employees that looked like high school/college kids working behind the counter. After asking what recommendations he gives me, I finally settled with the«Turkey & Cheddar w/Avocado on a Sweet Roll»(for $ 6.95). For this price, you’re getting a screaming good deal and way more bang for your buck than any Subway. I complete the order with chips and a soda while only paying about $ 9.00 + tax for everything. Since I take it to go, I actually eat my sandwich about 25 minutes later. Everything is packed in there, the thin slices of turkey, a ½ of an avocado, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and extra sharp cheddar cheese. After indulging in the first bite, I enjoyed that everything held up good. The bread was soft and sweet while the turkey had a nice smoky flavor to it. Since I’ve eaten at dozens of these types of sandwich shops, it doesn’t rank up there as the best but it is still pretty darn good especially if you’re in this part of town and don’t wish to travel to Midtown Sacramento. Overall, I hope Mark and his team will stick around here for awhile. Its a very pleasant surprise especially if you wish to venture away from your typical fast food establishment. The service was exceptional as everyone was in a cheerful mood especially on a busy Saturday afternoon. And the sandwiches, well I’ll definitely be back here the next time I’m in this area! Thank you«Mad Subs», you satisfied my hunger!

Stopped in on our way from San Jose to Reno. Had the #16. There sandwiches blow the chains(Togos Subway) away. Friendly atmosphere. Looked like a lot of repeat locals Will stop again next time through.

My new favorite sandwich joint in SAC hands down! Quality meat and bread, and they are not shy with their portions. Rueben is my personal favorite complete with Saurkraut, horseradish, pickles, mustard, swiss on toasted marble rye. YUMMMMM! The owner is a great guy and is always at the register greeting customers. The staff knows the menu very well and their recommendations are always spot on. My entire office drives across town for lunch here, nicely done folks!

Headed to Highlands and decided to grab lunch at this spot. Basically just like Mr. Pickles except NOCOOKIE! I was a little bummed about that. Came in on a weekday for a quick lunch. There was no line and we were able to get helped right away. There sandwich combos were the same as Mr Pickles and the place even looked like it inside. I did like that for drinks, they had both Coke and Pepsi products, that’s pretty rare. The girl helping us switched the bread on mine and my friend’s so I got his sourdough(which I hate) and he got my delicious dutch crunch! Bummed me out but I got over it. I added the baja sauce to my turkey, avocado & cream cheese. My sandwich was good but the girl mentioned a spicier sauce available, will have to try that out next time!

I have never been so pleased with customer service! Mad Subs has exemplified that and I wish more places were like this. I found this place on Unilocal because I was in the area and seen that they have great reviews so me and a couple of co-workers decided to check this place out. First, when I walked in I was greeted and I asked them what was popular. The workers then pointed to their menu of the day type of thing and Mad Sub was one of the sandwiches. I decided to try it. Second, the owner rang me and up and was soooo delightful, being helpful as ever! He let us know where the water is and that he’ll bring us our sandwiches when they are done. I love this place because they are prompt and neat. Meaning when we got out sandwiches, they weren’t falling apart. Amazing! It’s the small details Inpy attention to when I visit places. Thirdly, the owner briefly spoke with us and engaged in conversation which was excellent. Finally, the fact that one of my co-workers brought her own food to eat with us, and the free cookie they give out when you get a sandwich, the owner even gave her one! Such a kind and sweet gesture! Little things like that make a food place successful. The way they treat their customers. I will drive all the way out here just to eat because of the excellent customer service and great food!

Stopped off and got the Outlaw. I was super disappointed with the quality of the sandwich this time. My bread wasn’t baked all the way through in the middle, there wasn’t much chicken on my sandwich, and the lettuce was yellow. I’m leaving it at 3 stars as my previous visits were high quality but if it was based on my sole experience I’d give them 2 stars.

Love this place! Subway can eat a … I finally found my awesome sandwich spot. I like some other places but this is the best. The tri-tip on Friday’s and Saturday’s is the bomb! The spicy sauce from the #22 is good on everything. The Jesse James is so delicious. Dutch crunch is my favorite bread for everything. All the ingredients taste fresh delicious and high quality. The owner Mark is usually here and is always nice and helpful.(The big guy) Give this place a shot, I promise you won’t regret it!
