I bought my Porsche 996 a few months back. I live in Grass Valley and the person I bought the car from lives in Citrus Heights. He took the car into Midtown Autoworks when servicing was needed. Due to the fact It has been 30 yrs. since I have owned a Porsche, I was looking for a place to take the car when I needed service. I decided, despite the distance, to take my car to Midtown the first time for factory recommended service based on the previous owners history with Midtown. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Niko manages an highly efficient shop. He and his staff are pleasant, courteous and respectful. The work they do is top notch, reliable and reasonably priced. The best recommendation I can give for Niko and Midtown Autoworks is that I will continue the long drive to Midtown for my service needs despite the fact that there are many other Porsche mechanics much much closer

Niko is seriously the best Porsche mechanic in Sacramento. He has solved every Porsche problem I have ever taken to him. Beyond just being an epic mechanic, he’s a great guy too. Niko and his father go out of their way every time I take cars to him to make sure that everything is taken care of.

Okay. Where do I start. My brother owned a Mercedes and always recommended Nico. However. I do not own a Porsche or a Mercedes. I have a Mazda Miata. Last summer my Miata over heated and I needed a new radiator and thermostat. My brother took my car to them, Long story short they happily fixed my little gokart. And are the kind of mechanics to gladly answer your questions and many phone calls about weird noises. If I lived in Sacramento I would recommend them to anyone I know with a Mercedes or Porsche. Amazing guys!

My wife and I own 3– older Porsche automobiles, (1999 Boxster, 2006 Cayenne S and a 2008 Boxster S). and I have all of them services by Midtown Autoworks. Niko, the owner /​operator of this business is amazing! He provides the personalized service that is so hard to find in other similar business. Over the years I have brought him some very interesting mechanical issues which he has diagnosed and fixed very quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. He always takes the time to explain in detail all the work that needs to be done, he presents options, provides accurate estimates and gains authorizations before proceeding. Then after the work is completed he again takes the time to describe everything that was done. I feel I know so much more about these cars than before I started bringing them to MTAW. I completely trust and appreciate Niko’s integrity. My impression is that to Niko it is about building a strong customer relationships for repeat business, rather than making the quick buck. Example: My wife and I went on a trip to Arcata in the Cayenne. before we got home I had two warning notifications from the car’s computer. One about the coolant level and the other about the headlight function. My wife called Niko on the way home and we dropped off the car as soon as we got back into town. He worked on the car the next day. He topped of the coolant, ran the system under pressure and found no leaks. He showed me some wear on the drive belt and possible moisture emanating from the water pump, (I didn’t see any moisture). We decided to not do anything else at this time, (put it on the deferred maintenance list). The headlight at first it seemed I would need a new light bracket and wiring harness. But with a little conductive grease and disconnecting and reconnecting the headlight assembly we were back in business. I suspect Niko spent at least the better part of two hours diagnosing and fixing these problems. But refused any payment when I can to pick up the car. Who does that!
So now I am writing my first Unilocal review. Because I am compelled to share with the world what I know to be true about this amazing German car mechanic. If you have a Porsche, Mercedes Benz, VW or Audi then you should be going to Mid Town Autoworks to have those cars services! No Doubt About It!

Nico did a great job the service was wonderful couldn’t ask for anything better. I’ll go back there any day I need work done.

Niko is the best! My wife and I just moved from Chicago and her car failed the smog test. The mechanic at the smog shop told us we would have to spend thousands of dollars to repair the car. He actually told us we would be better off selling it out of state. We brought it to Niko and he kept the car for three days and worked on it until the problem was fixed. The car passed the smog test and Niko’s price was beyond reasonable. His father even drove my wife to work after she dropped the car off.
I would recommend Niko to anyone who needs a car repaired. His prices, professionalism and kindness are unmatched. Thank you, Niko. You have customers for life!

Niko is the greatest! Months ago, I took my car to Niko after the dealer near my home gave me a list of repairs at the cost of $ 7500. Niko looked over my car and determined NONE of it needed to be done! Since then I have turned to Niko anytime I had any questions or concerns with my car. He is honest and very considerate. I am a broke college student who stupidly bought a very VERY bad 2001 Mercedes off craigslist. I knew it had lots of problems, but I know nothing about cars. Nico helped me out the day that I called, told me exactly what I needed to do to make the car safe, changed me oil for 100 $ flat, and recommended a great tire place (and sushi restaurant). I HIGHLY recommend this mechanic. As a girl who has been taken advantage of in the car world, he didn’t try to screw me over at all, in fact he helped me tremendously. If I could give this 6 stars I would because it was one of the most positive business experiences that I have partaken in.

Finding Nico at Midtown Autoworks is the kind of discovery all of us German car owners hope to make. I have been in the car business all my life in Sacramento and have worked with dozens of mechanics. That said, I can say that Nico is in a league of his own! We all want a mechanic who is knowledgeable, and there are plenty of those. But Nico is not just amazingly knowledgeable, but also incredibly HONEST! My wife and I both both bring our Mercedes here and have always been treated fairly and professionally. Nico has done something numerous times that is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to mechanics … he has told us about repairs we DON’T need to do now, and is completely straightforward in every way. AND he answers the phone and always has time to discuss your situation, making you feel important and valued.
I have recommended every Mercedes and Porsche owner I know to his shop and will continue to do so. Every one I have has been very pleased so far and turned into loyal regulars.
When you own one of these cars you need an honest shop, and I found it!

I’ve never seen a mechanic so honest in my life! Nicco actually advised me that it wasn’t really worth it to do the repair I had asked him to do and didn’t charge me to make that diagnosis.

Midtown Auto Works is simply the best! Niko does the service and repairs on my 2001 Carerra as if it were his own! I wouldn’t take my most prized possession anywhere else! He provide thorough, honest, and fairly priced services and always explains everything fully and clearly with no B.S. He always goes the extra mile to make sure I am happy and my Porsche is performing as it should.

First thing I notice about this spot is that it is super clean. Always a good sign for me. Second thing I notice is how great Nico is and really knowledgeable on his Mercedes. They were also able to drop me off at my job which is close by. Just moved to the area and this is for sure my go to shop now. Highly recommend

Excellent service. I drop off my porsche 993 monday afternoon, without making an appointment, they gave me a ride home and the car was ready on tuesday. Oil change and brake flush was done. Fast service for sure, very reasonable price, very honest people.

Excellent service! I was stranded in Folsom with a cooling problem. My Porsche had been recently repaired by another (far-​distant) shop, and they found Niko for me. Niko arranged the tow, offered refreshments, and when it was clear it needed to stay the night he assisted in finding accommodations. He even got me a ride to the hotel. The problem was solved promptly the next morning, and I was on my way with no further issues. Best of all, the repair was under warranty from my shop in SLO county– Niko accepted their promise of payment and didn’t charge me a dime! The charges were very reasonable as well. He billed the other shop quite fairly. All this knowing that I live much too far away to be a regular customer. A clean, profesional shop with an honorable, conscientious owner. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Niko at Midtown Autoworks deserves five stars for service, price and thoroughness.
I needed to get a transmission service on my older mercedes sedan and my normal place didn’t have the right equipment, so they directed me to Midtown on 16^th and E. I was a little frustrated the first time I came in due to a wait and unavailability that day (but I want it now), but headed back after making an appointment.
My transmission service was close to 15% less than other mercedes places in the region, and I didn’t have to go far. His dad is a great guy too; it was an easy drive to/​from work (not everywhere will transport you when they work on your car). The waiting area is nice with water, tv and magazines.
He did a thorough review of my car, noting several things/​issues that I was aware of, and a couple new ones. I was also able to get a better handle on a starting issue and order new keys. He wasn’t big on up-​selling or overselling what needed to be done. I appreciate an honest mechanic, since I often work on my car to save money with my dad and have a sixth sense for it. I will be back again, so you should check them out too.
