Through the word of mouth, we found this place. Surrounded by storage factories/companies, this place is open to sell chickens and chicken eggs. There’s a strong odor of poultry! gross! The place is barren, two giant display fridges with a few whole chickens of different sizes. Cheap though and it tastes pretty yummy once cooked. Would come again and recommend this place. They have another location in midtown Sac, the prices varies.

I stopped in here to see what birds were available. A friend told me about this place so I had to see what’s up. When I entered the shop the bad odor of spoiled chicken hit me in the face. I walked up to the mesat countet and saw they only sold chicken an duck. After looking around for the than a minute I left. I don’t know if I came on a bad day or what but from the looks of it I don’t it was pretty empty only 2 others waiting to get meat. Would I give another chance? Yes! As I believe every buisness deserves a second chance. I will update my review the next time I visit this place.

I raise chickens for meat and eggs, and when it comes to their ultimate demise, I come here. They are CLEAN, fast and friendly. I feel that since the chickens were so good to me in life, the least I could do was give them a quick and(as much as possible) painless death. For $ 2.75/ a bird, it saves me the hassle and mess, and I gladly pay it.

A much better store now that they have moved to their new location. A bit farther away from the old location but this place is much cleaner and more spacious. New address: 8612 Younger Creek Drive Sacramento, CA95828

If you are a vegetarian, please bear with this omnivore’s descriptions. I consider all food to be sacred; and the animals we consume are by no means biological organisms that stand apart from their spiritual existence. Therefore, I feel it is important to become closely connected to the food we consume so that we can develop a strong appreciation for it. A part of establishing this type of connectedness consists of knowing where and under what conditions the animals were brought into this world, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity while they are here up to the point their spirit leaves their bodies. With that said, I take great comfort in purchasing my poultry here. The chickens are raised in Fresno, never enter a cage prior to being prepared for slaughter, are able to roam outside during most of the year and feed on grass, are not vaccinated, nor injected with or given antibiotics or hormones. The owner happily offered the contact information for the ranch and has visited it many times. The slaughter takes place at their facility which ensures the ultimate level of freshness and brings me far closer to appreciating their offerings. The slaughter process is far different from a factory setting — as the chickens are isolated from the apparatuses and not aware of it until the last moment. While I have not seen the process take place, they are very transparent about it and welcome those who are interested in viewing it. I have seen their facilities and they appear impeccably clean. As far as taste and texture, the chickens are extremely tender and have an amazing flavor. There are a variety of chicken types to choose from; and each type has distinct characteristics that make it ideal for the preparation you are planning. They will provide helpful insight should you have questions. I have prepared coq au vin with their broiler hens have smoked the fryers, and have grilled the poussants. With each type, the outcomes have been consistently excellent. Their ducks are excellent for duck confit. For ducks, they typically carry muscovy but I have also seen mallards once in a while, which are an excellent choice for smoking. They also offer rabbits(but not on a regular basis), which are raised at the same facility as the chickens and ducks; and are treated with the same level of respect and dignity.
