The ownership of this establishment changed six months ago. I got a chia latte, and it was delicious. They sell a smörgåsbord of things here: croissant sandwiches, parfaits, donuts, hard boiled eggs, and many more breakfast options. The staff is friendly, too.

Cash only. Does not provide refills on drinks without charging you $ 1.00 in cash. Very confusing to order. I have eaten here twice and what you must know is that you have to read the tiny font menu, which is over cluttered with menu items, while looking at the prepared food at the front counter that does not have any prices at all. Egg rolls, muffins, salads — each one you have to point to and ask«how much?» only to find out that it costs too much for what it looks like, lol. Meanwhile, the person behind the counter will ask if you know what you want, but it’s impossible to figure out because the menu is cluttered. There’s no signage to let you know where to order, so naturally you’ll hEad to the register and tell them what you want, only to find out that you were supposed to order at the other end of the counter. All of the food they serve comes from Costco and is simply heated up. The panini special was okay, but nothing to write home about. I could’ve made it myself at home. Pasta special is spaghetti with canned meat sauce and iceberg lettuce. Again, nothing to write home about. I agree this place is only in business for the State employees who are not energized enough to walk across the street. Save your money.

Food is cheaply made and disgusting. Tried their special of the day which was fish tacos. What I got was previously frozen fish sticks served in large tortillas drowning in bottled tartar sauce. It was cold and tasted absolutely disgusting. Find a better place to eat than this crappy café.

Was getting my car serviced and wanted to grab something to eat. Passed by this place and figured why not? Ordered a simple bagel with cream cheese and a drink. Then come to realize they only take cash… Crap. My cash is in my car and they already started making the bagel so I cant just leave. So I had to use their ATM machine that charged me 2.50 for my order of 4.50… Ugh! As I’m leaving the place about to take a bite then realized the cream cheese was still in a shape of a block… Not even warmed up. GROSS! Never again!

Been going here for years for my morning breakfast. Alice, her mom, and Curtis work there and they are all courteous and friendly. The breakfast foods(burritos, sandwiches, and pastries) are all wonderful. Will continue to go there in the morning for years to come!

The coffee is awful and they don’t take cards at all. If your establishment is cash only, perhaps you should put a sign stating such so people aren’t blindsided at the register. With so many other locations around which are superior(Café Bernardo, Naked Lounge, anything on R Street), the only patrons here are people from CDCR who are too lazy to walk further than half a block. Not worth the time.

Unfortunately they were out the special, sweet and spicy chicken, so I had the teriyaki chicken and added some hot sauce. For $ 6, I had the chicken over rice, iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing, and a large drink. Pretty good stuff. Not a bad deal for a quick lunch(M-F), but I will have to go back earlier to check out the special.
