Paws To Party

Pretty terrific event for a good cause.
I had a great time meandering around the auto museum snacking on great local food and tasting beverages from local wineries and breweries. The event was well organized with tastings spread out enough that people could flow throughout the museum comfortably. I’ve never been to the auto museum. I was definitely impressed by the collection of cars. Do it for the kittehs. It’s worth the price of admission.

This annual fundraiser supporting the Front Street Animal Shelter had a really good turnout at the California Automobile Museum (right across the street from the shelter!). It’s nice to see how much Sacramentans support our 4-​legged, furry friends in need of adoption. There were a ton of local restaurants, wineries, and craft breweries giving out samples. A few food standouts for me were the American River College culinary program’s pickled veggies, Museo de Mayuhel’s poblano chowder soup served in the cute little plastic martini glasses, and Vallejo’s chicken mole that tasted like someone’s abuelita made it! We were given a tasting tray/​wine glass holder, wine glass, drink coupon (for a free cocktail from the bar), and some Unilocal swag (thanks Katie G!). There were tables full of silent auction items and of course prizes for the raffle drawings. There was a small area in front of the stage to sit and enjoy the jazzy sounds of a live singer.
The one thing that could have made this night more enjoyable was if there was air conditioning (portable swamp coolers). It felt like it was 100 degrees in there! I know they did their best to accommodate all of our sweaty bodies by providing fans throughout the place, but we still ended up leaving early due to the discomfort from the heat. It was still a wonderful event, and I hope lots and lots of money and awareness was raised for the City Animal Shelter. They deserve it!

What an awesome event for a great cause! This place is packed full of people they have wonderful samplings of food wines and beers all from local establishments. I am sure that Front Street has done very well tonight! I want to thank Unilocal 4 the tickets that made the event is it even extra special for me and my wife!
