I really enjoy this place. I usually get the combo phở and it’s consistently good. The food is clean, vegetables are fresh, and quality is consistent. Nice and relaxed atmosphere as well.

Lazy Sunday morning, I called in to order 3 large bowl of Bun Bo Hue togo. Picked up our order, when we got home getting ready to eat, I realize with 3 orders, they gave us 1 small container and 1 small container for the sauté. Seriously for 3 large bowls? The bun bo hue was really good, when I ordered it, I specifically said spicy to ensure its spicy enough! It was definitely a kick for me. They gave us a great amount of vegatables. I will definitely come back for their Bun Bo Hue, but next time I’ll be sure to double check the containers.

Finally got to try this place after hearing good things about there bun bo hue. And yes that’s exactly what I ordered. Although it was to go I didn’t get to do the dining experience maybe next time. Anyways walked in and the lady at the counter greeted me once I walked in which was a plus for me. My order wasn’t ready which was fine with me because that just tells me I’m getting my order fresh just the way I like it. Next I paid for my order and went home. Put my noodles together and devoured it. It was so flavorful and I got plenty of meat and noodles. Anyone wanting bun bo hue should come and try it.

I came here on a Sunday night around 8pm. No one else was in the restaurant as I walked in. I love Bun Bo Hue, so I decided to get that. I got a large Bun Bo Hue, and they asked if I wanted it spicy. I decided I’ll go for it, and I wanted everything in it as well. So they give you some vegetables(cabbage and some mysterious brown stuff) to put in your soup so it can cook. I have yet to figure out what the brown stuff is. I thought my Bun Bo Hue definitely had a kick to it. A lot of places make it «spicy» but I end up adding a lot of spicy sauce to it. As for the noodles, they taste different than what I am used to. So the noodles are just okay, they look the same but they aren’t as tasty as other places. Also, for the toppings in the soup, they don’t give you much — just one of everything. Sometimes, I’ll have 2 or 3 porks blood in my soup, but I only ate one. So I guess they cheap out on the stuff. I do have to admit, their customer service were more on key than I expected. The lady stopped by a couple times to refill our water. We were the only one in the restaurant afterall. Parking lot is small, so parking can be difficult but do-able. I feel like there’s definitely more people at the other restaurants(ie crab city), so that might be why the parking lot gets filled up.

Could of had better service. Our waitress was too busy babysitting to even check on us after she deliver our order. She didn’t even write down our order, so she forgot the springroll order. She never even came back to ask us if we needed anything, bad on her part. She also didn’t even greet my sister and I at the door because she was too busy eating/looking at her phone — the little girl she was babysitting had to tell her that there was customers. Their special S1 was too fishy and sweet. Not enough spicy kick to it, even though I ask for it to be spicy. My sister N3 was too plain and the rice noodle needed some salt. Overall, the waitress didn’t greet us, didn’t write our order down, forgot what we ordered, never checked one us once(only quietly came to refill water because she saw that the cup was empty), etc. This will be the first an last time we dine here.

Phở Lam & Bun Bo Hue was the only business in our area that was open early on a Sunday so my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We were their first customer and therefore was greeted right away. The waiter provided napkins, water, and straws without us asking. We ordered the spring rolls for starter. The spring rolls were a disappointment. The presentation was as bad as the spring rolls. It lacked noodles and had bean sprouts as a filler. The meat was skimpy and the sauce was watery. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and my boyfriend ordered the banh canh ga. The bun Bo hue did not live up to its hype. It was extra oily and was not spicy. They had a generous amount of meat though. Do not order the banh canh. The noodles are store brought, and not the authentic homemade noodles. The chicken was soft and was lacked flavor. The restaurant is clean and service was good but the food was not. We will not be returning.

I would definitely come back here for their spicy bun bo hue! It was soo flavorful and the spice level was perfect. I gave this place a try a couple months after it first opened but I wasn’t really feeling the phở and bo kho that I had so I haven’t came back since. However, today I was in search of a good bun bo hue and it definitely satisfied my craving.

Ordered the BBH(for myself) and beef phở to go. The BBH was good/solid. I’m still contemplating on whether I prefer PK2’s or Co Do’s better. I will say their«spicy» actually has a kick. Customer service was whatever. As I sat for 15 mins waiting for my food, I saw a guy who was waiting a while for them to bring him his check. He kept on tilting his head, whereas another table who were seated for 5 minutes were trying to grab their attention to place an order. It wasn’t busy either. I’ll come back for the dining experience another day. *As I was leaving there were two guys outside, one of them was swinging a metal stick around. So location wise, it’s in the hood.

I am a fan solely for their bun bo hue. Anything else on their menu lacks that wow-factor and you could get better phở/bun rieu/thit nuong/mi dishes at a lot of other local Sacramento Vietnamese restaurants. But their bun bo hue. WOW. It was fantastic, easily the best in the Sacramento area. It’s hard to capture the right mix of flavors in the broth, but they did it easily. I love their mix of cha and other meats in the bowl too. If I’m ever in the mood for bun bo hue, this will be my go to place.

Bun Bo hue is decent. Utensils come in a bag after you order. The soup is very spicy. Price is a little steep for a bowl of bun Bo hue. This place was empty when we were here. We were the only people there on a weekend during lunch.

This place is known for their bun bo hue, spicy beef noodle soup and my fave here is the bun Bo hue. I base my noodle soup of any type off of the broth and this broth is good and very spicy just how I like it! they loose a star though because everytime I go, their noodles are over cooked. noodles should be al dente, not mushy. Beef phở– soup wasn’t bad, it’s different because they put the green onion oil in to it and I personally think it makes it taste better. again, noodles are over cooked. vietnamese coffee is very good, it is strong. service isn’t bad, and it shouldn’t be, because it’s always slow. there’s always only another table or two when I have gone and it is not a very big restaurant. there are my be only about 12 tables. fried chicken wings and rice– I did not like this. the chicken wings were sweet and I do not like sweet food. if one likes sweet than these fried chicken wings might be your thing. on top of the rice are cubes of fried pork skin, I liked that! wish there were more!

This is one of my go to places for Bun Bo Hue! It’s actually pretty spicy when you ask for spicy. BBH at most places aren’t that spicy even when you ask for it, but not here! I’ve been asking for less spicy and it’s a lot better haha. The only thing I don’t like is that brown stuff in the veggy bowl… I have no idea what the brown stuff is but I hate eating it. It’s hard to eat because it’s hard and chewy, and it doesn’t get soft after you put it in your soup either. I always pick out the cabbage and leave the brown stuff out. Wish they had cabbage by itself My boyfriend also tried the Banh Canh Cua(thick noodle soup with crab meat) and said it was very flavorful and tasty, but the broth is thick. I also tried the Phở Dac Biet and it’s yummy too – like normal phở lol.

This spot has become my new favorite place for bun bo hue besides Phở King 2 in Sacramento. I dare to say I like it a little more than PK2’s bbh but they’re both good in its own way. The broth here is a little more flavorful and has more cuts of meat and cha then PK2. I also had the fried calamari, not too bad, and the fried wonton, eh okay, smelled really porky. Both times I came they were pretty slow so they were really attentive and checked on us often so service was good. I have yet to come back and try the other items but definitely check out the BBH since that’s what they’re known for!

I have tried bun bo hue once and I didn’t like it at the restaurant I had it at, so I was hesitant to try it again. My best friend recommended this place and said they have the BESTBBH, so I had to try it. I came here yesterday with her and another friend and we all got BBH in spicy and a side of egg rolls. The egg rolls were small, but were so bomb! Then came the BBH. I took my first bite and I said«oh my god! this is so good!» Honestly, it was really good! Mine was really spicy and it was burning my throat, but I still couldn’t stop eating it. Now that I look back at the pictures and snapchats I took last night, I’m craving BBH again… Maybe I’ll come after class :)

This is our first time here. Customer service was excellent. Place is roomy and clean. Food came out quick and just as we ordered. Food was good but the only issue I had was that it needed more varieties on the menu. Also the dish I usually and always get was different from every other asian restaurants I’ve been to so I was a bit sad, but overall I had a good lunch.

Best bun bo hue I’ve tasted in awhile!!! Got the recommendation from a friend to try this place out and I’m so glad I did because this is my go to spot for bun bo hue. The staff was very friendly and checked up on us every so often. Usually Vietnamese restaurants would give each table one plate of the usual vegetables to go with noodle soups. However, they gave each person at our table a bowl full of veggies which was awesome. Cool place & I would definitely recommend.

Ive eaten the bun bo hue here before and it was really good, but today ive tried the banh canh and the hu tieu dac biet and my girlfriend and i love the shrimp chip thing that comes with it. I got it dry also but it was sooo good. The banh canh was okay too but the hu tieu was on point!

I wanted to try this phở place out since we have eaten at crab city a couple of times. When we arrived we were greeted right away and the place was pretty clean. The service was good and we were seated right away. It is smaller than other phở places but that’s no big deal since it wasn’t very crowded when we went! My lady ordered the bun Bo hue and it was pretty good but co do is better! The white meatballs was blend and has huge chunks of pepper which we do not like. The broth was average but nothing that blows your mind… I had the won ton egg noodle soup and it was pretty good! Again, nothing that will blow your mind but I enjoyed it! The noodles were good and the won ton was pretty flavorful. Next time we come, we will have to try the homemade ice cream!!! It looked delicious when we were there but will wait until next time! I would recommend it! Give it a try!

When a restaurant opens within a couple of blocks of «the crib», Ida and I feel obligated to check it out. Yup! We drove our lazy derrieres all of two blocks to check out the new restaurant in our hood. We were lucky enough to score a comfortable booth in the front row right up where it was easy to be in contact with our wonderfully friendly and beautiful young waitress. We were quickly given water and menus and after a couple of minutes I signaled our waitress that we were ready to order. She immediately took our orders of Crab Soup, beef stew and banh cuon. The banh cuon was fresh and good but then, most banh cuon is fresh and good. However, we were mildly surprised by the peanut sauce having a bit of a kick to it. It wasn’t very long until our meals were delivered piping hot to our table. My beef stew had lots of nice sized chunks of beef and I really enjoyed the broth. I love beef stew and will probably be back for more. This spot has not been good to previous restaurants so I really hope Phở Lam makes it.
