Stumbled upon this place on Unilocal and it had good reviews so I decided one early morning to come and try it out. I’m SO glad I checked this place out because the food was good and flavorful. The service was awesome as well! The owner, I believe, was very charismatic and kind. The only reason why I took away one star was because the portion size were a lot smaller than what you would get at other Vietnamese restaurants. But other than that, good food, great service, and I will definitely be returning!

THISRESTAURANTISCLOSED. Drove by 11⁄15 and it closed up shop, no furniture. :(. This place is great, discovered it while stuck in the hospital not wanting to eat the gross trays that came my way. It’s right across from kaiser s. sac and there’s limited food choices. However the food brought me back multiple times after my stay… It’s fresh and it’s good. The chef is rather a purist and makes the food to order… especially the spring rolls! You will NOT get some cold congealed rice wrapper here with run of the mill offerings. The tofu rolls even includes fried taro and it is delicious! And the beef is freshly grilled for each roll ordered. We’ve tried many things here and haven’t been disappointed. Call ahead if you’re in a hurry, they will have it waiting for you! We’ve talked to the owner every time we have come, and they are aiming to please, so give them a try. They are still trying out some new recipes so there will be even more offerings on their extended menu, and you may even get a sample!

A new Vietnamese restaurant in Sacramento? Sign me up! And with a Thai fusion? Sign me up twice! Great food, great service, and good prices. I’m glad I signed up. Atmosphere: 4.5÷5 – The place was clean, and very shiny. Not the swankiest, but shiny. I like shiny. – This really impressed me. The music was very… sensual? Is that the right word? Jazz/Tango music is exclusively played. I know, in a Vietnamese restaurant. – Apparently all GPS coordinates are wrong, so I’ll tell you where it is. Across Kaiser, next to Fat Duck’s Pizza. In the Mack Rd area, near the DMV. If you reach San Francisco, you’ve gone too far. Service: 4.5÷5 – This was a surprise. I mean, if you know anything about authentic Asian cuisine, the service takes a dive for a better, cheaper meal. Nothing takes a dive here, beautiful. – The server is a very nice fella that got a degree in food science at UC Davis(I’m not creepy, it says it on the first page of the menu). He greeted us, was very friendly, and took our order. – Another employee, a middle-aged lady, checked up on regularly to see if we needed anything. She brought us fish sauce! She was very nice, and struck up a conversation. We told here Unilocal brought us here, and she wasn’t surprised at all. Reminded my girlfriend of her own mother, but that’s another story for another website. Food: 4⁄5 – The food was very fresh and filling. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, a small bun bo hue, and a BBQ pork banh mi. – The spring rolls(goi tom cuon) were very good, and the sauce they give you wasn’t too shabby. – The bun bo hue lacked a little in flavor, but was still good. All it needed was some tweaking. Sriracha, fish sauce, and soy sauce to the rescue. Never enough bean sprouts, I always say. And it was a small, but a healthy portion. Large was only a dollar more. – The banh mi(american subway sandwich on delicious steroids) was great, more meat than other banh mi i’ve ever had. I could tell they just barbecued the meat — huge plus. And the bread was awesome. We loved it so much, we panicked and ordered another to go. We do that a lot. Price: 3.9÷5 – The price was higher than most Vietnamese restaurants, from what I saw. But then again, Vietnamese restaurants somehow always have the cheapest food out of any other establishment. – Banh Mi was $ 3.50, Bun Bo Hue was $ 6.95, and Shrimp Spring Rolls were $ 3.95. Not bad, but other stores probably have cheaper prices. But the food is fresher here. Overall, a really awesome little shop I’m glad we tried out. Their banh mi was great, as you can tell it wasn’t made like most other places: an assembly line of food that has been sitting out. Just like the rest of the food, it was made on the spot. I appreciate that. And the service was great, something you just don’t see everyday in a majority of Asian restaurants. TIPS: – If you’re not sure what to get, I uploaded the entire menu on here. /selfplug – Banh Mi, forever. If you have no idea what it is, just trust me. You’ll never have Subway again.

This place is very new but they have got their stuff together. The place is clean, the food is good, and the service is friendly. The restaurant is a Thai/Vietnamese fusion and there is good variety for both cuisines there. I ordered the noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. I’ve had this dish many places(including my own home) and it was very good. The portion was just right and everything was cooked perfectly and the veggies were very fresh. My sister and brother in law got the bun bo hue(spicy beef noodles) and it smelled good coming out and they raved about it. The bun bo is spicy, so please make sure to ask for it to be mild if you can’t handle it! I like that they give each person their own separate plate of veggies and bean sprouts so that you’re not fighting over it when it’s on one plate. For being in business for only so long they definitely have a good hang of things and are very prompt with delivering the food. Would definitely return here.

A very new restaurant to the S. Sacramento area, Phở Tango Bistro is located right across from the South Sacramento Kaiser, so if you work there, try this place out for lunch! I’ve only been here once, and I am thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the professionalism of the staff, and the most important part of all, the deliciousness of food! My family and I decided to try this place out on their grand opening. We went about an hour before closing, so it wasn’t very busy, but there were a good 2 – 3 tables when we walked in. We were immediately greeted by everyone as we walked in and sat promptly to our table. Our waiter was Huu, and he was very professional and attentive. Our waters were always full and he always made sure we were okay. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue(spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup), my sister ordered Bun Thit Nuong(BBQ pork with vermicelli and vegetables), and my husband also ordered the noodle soup. The food came out promptly and piping hot. My Bun Bo Hue was exquisite. It’s very rare that I find any restaurant that can make Bun Bo Hue as authentic as my mom.(Again, bragging about my mom’s delicious cooking.) I was highly impressed with the great flavor and the awesome amount of beef in our soup! Besides offering Vietnamese food, there is also a fusion of Thai food as well. I have yet to try any of their Thai dishes, but I am looking forward to returning to Phở Tango Bistro to try something new.
