My first time coloring my hair there and it was disappointed i didn’t get the color i want. My natural hair is black, i want a golden brown look. It didn’t look near golden brown at the end. She didn’t bleach my hair before dying. She charged me $ 75. My hair look brown on the top and black on the bottom. My advice to the salon– they should know black hair needs bleach before trying to go for any color. I trusted the lady to bring me the color

5 stars for Audra. She is amazing. I went to change my red hair and get platinum highlights. She did amazing job. It’s exactly what I wanted. She spent the time to make sure I get what I want. I just recently moved back to the Sacramento and I was in desperate need of a haircut. So I hit Unilocal up and started searching of local hair salons near me and of course R17 popped up one of the first salons to show on my feed.
Made my appointment, receptionist was really sweet and helpful. She scheduled me with Melissa and upon arrival she was already there and I arrived a bit earlier to my appointment! Which is nice! The salon itself, is really clean and organized. Everything is pretty modern and updated. I love how they have an area where guest can sit while they wait it’s very roomy! She immediately took care of me and recommended on what to do for my dry ends!
As for my haircut, I LOVE!!! I can’t complain she styled it perfectly to my shape or face and even kept the length. (it can be irritating when stylist cut too much hair!) but nope had the opposite experience. My hair feels amazing, and she was so sweet making sure I was okay with my haircut and constantly updating on what she was doing. She sent me home with a sample of their product UNITE which I love!!! Made my hair feel so silky, and soft.

BEST HAIR CUT EVER! I had extremely long, no shape, non kept hair. My appointment was with Melissa aka my new hair angel! I have a history of being very protective of my «security blanket» and I am very picky on who even gets close to my hair. She listened to EXACTLY what I wanted & even then it came out better than I could have ever expected. She was so sweet and concerned to make sure I loved my hair and with each step, kept me informed and made sure she got it right. Never again will I go anywhere else, I am so relieved to find a place that I absolutely trust. See you soo Melissa!

Had my hair done again by Rebecca last week and once again she did a wonderful job, it came out a very rich red just like the picture I showed her. The cut was amazing as well! Everyone keeps asking me where I get my hair done and how great it looks. Thanks again Rebecca! Will be back again!

Best place EVER! Hair color is always perfect, my cut is just the right length. The girls are all so professional & super nice. Everyone I’ve seen that comes into the salon leaves with amazing looking hair. Thank you Audra, you always know how to make my hair feel & look fabulous!!! Great prices too!

STOP!!! Over priced for NO reason ! I went in to get my hair colored mind you I only colored the top of my head as the sides are all faded. The length of my hair is only 4 in long so I went into to get it lightened then deposit color in it. Other salons had quoted me at the most 70 dollars which is fair considering my hair is not that long at all. So I go in we don’t go over a price range which was my fault but I’m thinking shouldn’t be that much after 4 hrs of waiting mind u the girl messed up the 1^st time and had to retouch it again, which is ok we all make mistakes but when it was time to pay and she told me total 145. I was livid how in the HELL or why is it so much. So the next day I called the Owner and explain kindly I believe I was over charged and she looks and says no that’s right and she even have u a BIG discount. Excuse my French I wanted to say bitch where ?? My hair is short mind u she messed up I had a event to go to which I was late and the color didn’t come out how I wanted it. All the owner can say well I think it’s a fair price and all my clients are always happy! I’m sorry but do I look like one of your clients? NO I would never recommend this place to someone and I will let’s friends and family knw and my salon friends as I’m a hair dresser myself. I see this place going out of business soon.

I went got my hair highlight I had Rebecca do my hair she did such a great job very happy. I found a new Hair stylist.

I found Rebecca @ R17 to be friendly and helpful. She made sure I was comfortable, offered me something to drink, and then helped me figure out what to do to my hair. When finished I loved the color and the cut! I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone looking for a Cosmetologist who puts you first and has a great eye for coloring your hair.

I had my hair done twice by Audra and both times it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it. Even though I brought pictures in both times still she didn’t do it exactly like that. Not worth the 45 $.

I went to R17 for my first time and got a bangs trim, root touch up and balayage highlights from Rebecca – amazing! I started with long dark hair and ended up with tons of added dimension and perfect length bangs. Exactly like the photo I showed her! Love when that happens. I’ve received a ton of compliments on my new hair. I know who I’m going to next, whether it’s for a touch up or for another big change. Rebecca works wonders and I highly recommend you let her work her magic on your hair!

I’ve had a hard time finding a salon that I can keep coming back to, and one day a friend recommended R17. I’ve been going there regularly for a little over a year and have never been happier!
Brittany does a wonderful job with my hair. She always listens to what I want, gives her own recommendations for what will work best (which are always on point), and executes it beautifully. To this day, she is probably the only stylist who has every been able to trim my bangs exactly how I want them, so of course I keep coming back. Just booked another appointment and can’t wait to freshen up my ‘do. The salon itself is nicely decorated and they always offer water or a glass of wine when you arrive for your appointment. :)

Georgia was awesome. I took a risk while traveling from out of town, but there is a reason R17 came up first on Unilocal.Georgia asked all the right questions to assure I had the style and color I came for.

Just got a living social deal for Facial package from Vanessa all I have to say is it was absolutely amazing I left with my skin feeling so refreshing its in a very comfortable warm environment great experience can’t wait to go back again. And if your looking for a stylist Audra is amazing with the Japanese Straightener go back for my touch up in May 14 can’t wait! Love R17 Salon very professional and very clean and friendly bunch of girls.

Megan, Megan, Megan– this chick knows hair. She is amazingly talented at making me look like a million bucks even though I am broke as a joke! I love my visits with her. She is super friendly and makes you feel extremely comfortable. I have been a client of hers now for 2.5 years. I would never go to anyone else! I highly recommend her if you are sportin’ a mullet, look like a ragamuffin, or are tore up from the floor up! She will fix you right up.
The receptionist Eddy is awesome. Always super friendly and cute too! Any man that greets me with a smile like his and then offers me wine, is definitely worth writing about.
Also, they use UNITE which is an amazing line of products. Just another reason to give R17 a shot!

I’ve been seeing Ginnymae for about 2 years now and I’m finally getting around to writing this review of her awesomeness!
I was that person who saw the same stylist for many years and after building that relationship is was VERY hard for me to switch to someone new but I’m very happy that I did. She doesn’t double book me so that I’m waiting forever, she gets the job done and my hair always looks amazing. I’m a blonde (a picky blonde) so healthy blonde hair can be ruined by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing.
What sets Ginnymae apart from stylists is that she’s more concerned with how you look leaving that salon because every head of hair is a walking billboard. VERY TRUE. Ginnymae is a natural, doing hair is just what she’s great at. I now know about 10 people that go to her. and that’s for a reason.
Other than that Audra and Eddie who run the salon are also Fabulous! It’s clean, they offer refreshments and I like the vibe of the salon. They always call a day before you remind you of your appointment (for a busy lady this is a major plus)
