I’m going to second the CASHONLY review. Don’t take it lightly. $ 10 to park + $ 15 entrance. BUT the free lift ticket is high worth it. The line looks daunting but It moves rather quickly. I was pretty disappointed by the selection of gear though. Everything was still REALLY expensive. Just being in that environment sort of makes one feel like this is the only opportunity to buy last seasons merchandise. NOTTRUE! Many of the featured vendors are local shops and will have whatever they don’t sell at the expo available in their stores. Just go with a friend and an open mind and you’ll have fun!

CASHONLY to enter the Cal Expo! They accept credit cards inside for purchases though. Like the reviewer Soo S. before, I came with high expectations. I was bringing boytoy’s little sis to get her first set of gear. I talked up Ski Dazzle thinking it would be like the one at the LA Convention Center next to the Staples Center. It was barely 1⁄5 of the size! Though there weren’t many choices, every person who was working there had the same awesome attitude of helpfulness, full of smiles & information… I had to give 3 stars. Also, due to their willingness to help us out amongst the packed crowd(granted packed ‘cos it was 1⁄5 the size of LA), we were able to get a snowboard jacket, pants, socks, gloves & goggles at anywhere from 25% — 50% off original pricing(which means a big savings any way you put it). AND, we got our free vouchers that we plan to use at NorthStar this week. Too bad only this & Heavenly are open right now(so is Boreal but the ticket deal isn’t with Boreal). I will probably only come back to Ski Dazzle Sacramento to get the free vouchers next time ‘cos I already have my own gear & I have more choices at the LA location. If only we could fly over the Sacramento employees to the LA one… love their customer service!

Overall his was a waste of time. Before I relocated to Sacramento, I used to attend Ski Dazzle at the LA Convention Center religiously, so I had high expectations. Considering Northern California has many more resorts, there should have been more than 5 retail exhibitors. My husband did purchase a pair of snowboard boots at Ground Zero, but we were told by one of the employees that assisted us they’re having the same discounts applied to their gears and attires at their retail stores. We could’ve saved more money without paying $ 10 for parking and $ 15 per person for admission. But then I suppose we would’ve lucked out on the 25% off a purchase of any regular priced item discount card to Land Park Ski & Sports and the free lift ticket to the following parks: Alpine Meadows, Dodge Ridge, Heavenly, Homewood, NorthStar, and Sierra. As we were driving away from Cal Expo, we noticed many people had parked in the surrounding streets to avoid paying the parking fee. Had it not been freezing cold and windy outside, we probably would’ve done this ourselves. Overall, we were in-and-out in about an hour.
