I dropped in on a Monday around lunch and got taken care of right away. Was probably there for no more than 10 minutes. Cost for an SUV is $ 5 more than the coupon price. Service was friendly and to the point. Would definitely go back.

Update:
The next shop I visited showed me that the code was not pending, but was historic — exactly as I told the Smog Tech Pros technician. I passed with flying colors. HC = 7 @ 15mph, 1 @ 25 mph; CO = 0.01 @ 15mph, 0.03 @ 25mph; NO = 7 @ 15mph, 5 @ 25mph. The California Smog Check OBD Reference Manual clearly states that my 1996 — 1999 gas-​powered vehicle can be tested with any 1 incomplete monitor.
Original complaint post:
I arrived at their posted opening time to find a sign indicting they will return an hour and a half later. I returned at the posted time and they refused to test my truck because a monitor indicated that it had overheated in the past. In August, 4 months previous, my radiator sprung a leak. I replaced the radiator and the engine light went off after I drove the truck a number of miles. The truck has been repaired, has new plugs and wires, clean sensors & throttle body, new radiator, new catalytic converter, and is in great running condition. Having explained why the overheating monitor would have been tripped and showing the technician that my radiator is new, it seems they should have the latitude to smog test the vehicle. They chose not to do so because they say that the state might ‘ding’ them for testing a vehicle that is showing a code for past overheating event that has clearly been repaired. If the truck tests correctly, that should be that, despite having experienced a problem that has since been repaired. The state is wrong to impose this difficulty on tax payers through bullying the smog test shops in this manner. The shop should have the leeway to see that the radiator has been replaced and to test the truck — as it will pass easily.

I called before coming in since I knew I would be cutting it close to closing time for them. Luckily the man who answered assured me that I would be taken care of as long as I got there before 4:45. Arrived at 4:30 and was in and out in less than 5 minutes! I got my smog checked and dmv notice all sent for $ 40 flat with the online coupon. Great place and great service will be back for my next check up.

I decided to try Smog Tech Pros because of the great Unilocal reviews. I wasn’t disappointed. I got there around 3:20pm (no appt), my car was checked within 3 minutes, and I was done by 3:30pm! As others before me stated, $ 38 out the door. Very pleased with the service and the great price. High recommend.

Need to register an out of state car that we brought from Hawaii and needed a smog check; luckily, found these guys nearby with excellent Unilocal reviews. I didn’t have an appointment but as everyone posted — very fast, and great service. Highly recommend this place for a fast smog check.

Came here for a regular smog inspection. Super fast, professional, straightforward, reasonably priced. I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment, and the guy told me I didn’t, and when I asked him about how long it should take he said around 10 minutes. It took more like 5 minutes, which was great since I brought my car in during my lunch break. Always a pleasant surprise to have things go faster and smoother than you anticipated. I just received my new DMV registration in the mail today, too, so I know everything went through on their end! Highly recommend.

Wow! This place was super fast and they honor the $ 10 off if you check in on Unilocal.I am not exaggerating we went on a Saturday at 11 am with no appointment and we were there for 7 minutes. They had one staff only and he was finishing another car. Even with this wait it was extremely fast. Total was $ 48 even with the dmv $ 8.95 fee added. Highly recommend this place.

I went here yesterday after looking online. Walked in around 4:30 pm and felt like I was walking out within minutes since there was no other person before me. He was quick to smog the car and get me on my way.
Price with coupon was 38 $ (29.75 $ for smog + 8.25 $ for the certificate)

When I got my registration renewal notice from the DMV, it instructed me to go to a STAR smog station. This was the closest one, and had good reviews, so I went for it. I was helped immediately and the guy was super nice. The whole thing took only 15 – 20 minutes even though he was also helping other people, and my car passed. The waiting room is modest, but it is clean, free of bad smells and filth, and had comfortable chairs — which is more than I can say for most smog places.
I will come here in the future whether I need to do the STAR test or not. Highly recommend.

EXPERIENCE: My experience was the same as other people’s: Even being a walk-​in, I was in and out within 15 or 20 minutes (and that included the finishing up of the man ahead of me). My inspection was done by Rafael and he was quick, cheerful, and polite. He was the only person in there at the time.
PRICE: With the online coupon my total came to $ 40.00 even. ($ 31.75 inspection, $ 8.25 certificate), which is competitive for California smog places, even if they’re not STAR-​certified like this one. (I was required to do a STAR one.)

Was in and out in 20 minutes with no appointment. Fast, friendly, and to the point. Not the coziest office but who cares if it’s that quick. I’d rather coffee and popcorn not be included in the price of my smog, haha.

Had to drive down from chico because there are no STAR smog stations in my area. Had a coupon online that gave me a serious discount for a smog, if you check in with your mobile they offer a $ 10 off your smog also. They took my car immediately and it took maybe 10 – 15 min to get a passed star smog and be out of there. Staff was friendly, would gladly come here every time in the future, super fast service and nothing could have been better, A+.
