I tried placing an order over the phone and I was told it would be 15 minutes. I show up 20 minutes later and pay for my food. But instead of receiving it in a bag I wait around for another ten minutes. The duration of time it take to make a burger. After a total of 32 minutes after ordering a hamburger I receive it. I actually came back late from lunch to work as a result. I just wish the next time I get there and they haven’t even started the order I made 20 minutes prior that I am informed prior to paying for it. The food here is very good, but not worth being late to work.

A perfectly fine burger for the price, and the melted cheese was better than expected.

We went to the Midtown, Sacramento location yesterday for lunch and were very impressed. From the moment we walked in we were treated very nice by the staff. It might have been due to the day, or time we arrived, but in Midtown you never know what to expect. We sat down the place was spacious, the server gave us ample time to decide wven throwing out a few suggestions. Instead of letting us waste money and food, she said that a small order of fries would be enough for the two of us. It was… the Burgers were cooked perfectly, the cheese skirt was a cherry on top! I say any fan of a great burger should try these guys! *4 thumbs Up*

I didn’t even know sac had this squeeze inn! Out of the 3 locations I know of in Sac, I reli like this one. Ordered 2 squeeze burgers for me and my boo and we wanted a fry to share. The girl who was helping us recommended a small fry and it was def big enough. Also — their fries are amazing !! I am a big burger lover, and have only seen these lightly breaded fries in prob 2 other burger places before. They are crisp but somehow melt in ur mouth. The cheese skirt was enormous(just the way I like it) and I was very happy w size and veggies on my burger. They didn’t put enough mayo so after adding some ranch, it was perfect. The staff was friendly enough. The place was packed w customers, and there were 3 people working at a time w a 4th on break — they could def use more help. The front girl was going to get us our drinks but completely forgot, so someone else helped us. We had a good time :)

First timer here, and man was that a handful. Literally. Despite my husband’s suggestion that we split a burger, I logically reasoned that we are getting the 1/3lb squeeze burger, we cant share that! Boy was I wrong. You pay for the basic hamburger, then each toppping costs you(ranging from $.50 for onions to $ 1.50 for the cheese). And why wouldnt you get the cheese? The cheese skirt is what they are famous for. It was delicous… and filling. I couldnt finish it. We also got the small fries, which in reality could feed 3 people(the two of us couldnt finish those either). In conclusion, good food, clean atmosphere, and good service. We recommend.

Been here a few times and recently went May 2016. We got 2 Squeezeburgers with cheese and an order of sweet potato fries and an order of onion rings. The burgers were pretty good but the cheese was nothing special and was a bit salty and ended up not finishing them all. The onion rings were pretty good as were the sweet potato fries. They get an extra ½ star to 3 ½ stars for having nice guy working behind the counter and a nice waitress too. Both friendly and checked back at our table.

Great burger with a cheese skirt. Super friendly staff and great service. Hug portions. Sweet Potato Fires were the bomb. I can feel my arteries hardening as we speak.

Had the perfect country breakfast this morning! Good sized portions. Fast and friendly service too. I have enjoyed Squeeze Inn cheese skirt cheeseburgers for decades. Had no idea they served breakfast. Tried the country fried steak and a side of biscuits and gravy — delicious!

I am not the biggest burger connoisseur to begin with, but this place is all hype. Food: I ordered the squeezeburger with the infamous cheese skirt & all fixings. The burger was lackluster in taste, especially the meat. The meat was super dry and topped with a super oily skirt of cheese that made it difficult to eat the burger. I had to pull apart the cheese to be able to eat it. Price: The burger is pretty huge, but the taste is lacking. Price would be fair otherwise. Service: Terrible! Employees were so caught up with mingling amongst each other, not really attentive or aware of the customers. Ambiance: Old, diner feels, but not really clean or spacious. Overall: I’ve had so much better, take away the cheese skirt and it’s just your run-of-the-mill burger joint.

This place is great! The restaurant was relatively small, but clean. The service was friendly and fast. The server was attentive and refilled or drinks as often as we emptied them. Now, onto the food… First let me say, they have the tastiest fries I’ve found in Sacramento. They’re light, crispy, and actually taste like fries instead of grease or oil. The burger I had was a single patty with cheese, fully loaded their way with lettuce tomato, onions, pickles and mayo for just under $ 9.00. My friend had the Double Squeeze Burger with Cheese and Large fries(2lbs). Both burgers had a wonderful fried cheese halo and made us salivate just by the sight of them. The flavor was fantastic, although I admit that the meat itself could have maybe used a little bit more seasoning, as my meat patty was a tad bland. Luckily the gooey cheese provided enough flavor that the unseasoned meat was barely noticeable. I’ll definitely return!

So, just based on the Unilocaloshere reviews and pictures of these ufo looking cheeseburgers I had to try this place out. Hell, that’s what Foodie’s do right? Well, I ordered, sat at the counter and patiently waited to indulge in this creature of a cheeseburger. When they placed the specimen in front of me, I sat there perplexed as to how are you supposed to wrap your pie hole around this spongebob squareburger??? I ended up having to peel most of the cheese away because it just became to cumbersome to get to the burger itself. After all the hype, I didn’t end up finishing the burger due to too much cheese and because they put mayo on my burger when I specifically asked for them not too. I also didn’t realize that I needed to add lettuce & tomato as an add on to my burger.(At an additional cost). Fries were cooked to perfection, which I enjoyed more than the burger. Recommend this place if you are into gluttony and if not stand clear.

I know we are the only people around that hadn’t eaten at the world famous Squeeze Inn. We fixed that today by going in at about 11:15. It was already busy and the one waitress said to grab the empty table and she would get to us ASAP. She was working by herself. We ask about the difference in size of the ¼ lb and the 1⁄3 lb cheeseburgers. She said the smaller was honestly pretty large and would probably be enough. I ordered a large fries and she said we would be fine with the regular size and that the large feeds 4 or 5 people. That was nice of her. We had a bit of a wait, but expected that from reviews and word of mouth. It seems everyone we know had eaten there except us! The wait was OK as by now it was packed and still only one waitress. She brought the baskets and it was OMG time! They looked huge with the cheese skirt and my Wife loves fried cheese. Upon inspection we see the patty is a normal ¼ lb unit, but the bun is oversize, way oversize. The basket of fries is also large and they are so, so yummy. First thing is to peel off some of the cheese so we can get to our burgers. After flattening down the cheeseburger so it fits in my mouth I get my first taste. Very good. Not In-N-Out good but better than most. We were full by the time we ate ½ of our cheeseburgers and decided to take them home for lunch tomorrow. Same with the basket of fries. We were only full because of the super thick bun though. Now it is 12:00 and the line is out the door. This place is popular! Still only 1 waitress, but she is sweet and smiling. We leave her a $ 5 tip I am only giving 4 stars as the fat bun is stupid, they need an additional waitress, and they are a little pricey. I can get ¼ lb cheeseburger, fries, and medium drink at In-N-Out for ½ the cost as Squeeze Inn.

Do you remember in the movie«Elf» with Will Ferrell in how he congratulates that diner for«The World’s Best Cup of Coffee» when actually it was just really a really mediocre cup of coffee. That was the letdown I felt of finally trying Squeeze Inn’s cheese skirt burger. They melt shredded cheddar cheese around the burger to get the skirt. It’s pliable, little crispy, and a little chewy and pretty salty. Everything tastes mediocre; from the sesame bun, to the 1/3lb beef patty, to the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Wonder if I asked In-n-out to make a cheese skirt, would they? Hype strikes again. I’m starting to lose faith in Guy Fieri. Burger and fries was about $ 10.

I came here the other day with my boyfriend since we were in the Sac area. He wanted to try squeeze in because he saw it on TV and has been wanting to try it for a long time. We walked in and it seemed to be a very tight area very limited space to sit. We were greeted right away and luckily a table was available. Me and the boyfriend took a look at the menu and as we were ready to order this sweet waiter took our orders and helped us explained the burgers on the menu.(They are famous for their burger with the huge cheese melted outside of the bun) anyways, we got 2 burgers and a regular fry. It took about 15 minutes for our burgers to come out and then we took a bite of the burger — I LOVED it!!! Unfortunately my boyfriend disagreed. He said it was the worst burger ever! I was really bummed because I really wanted him to like it. The fries came out really good too I thought and were hot and crispy enough. My boyfriend said he didn’t want to pay for the meal because he said it was that horrible. He said he will NEVER return again but for me I will def love to come back! Kudos on the service! They should get 5 stars!

I’ve been here a handful of times, but this time was a little special for me, because I got to take my two boys to this local gem to experience it for themselves. As a heads up for anyone who’s never been here, if you’re looking for a «healthy» option, this ISN’T the place for you. This place is known for their ‘Cheese Skirt’ burger, so if you want to avoid the cheese skirt, although they have several other options. You won’t get what makes people come here like the«Squeeze with Cheese», you won’t get why it’s a local gem, you won’t get why they’ve been rated #1 burger in Sacramento, or why they’ve been featured on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’. We were across the street mid day on a Saturday while I was getting a haircut, and after if was time for lunch. From personal experience, the main Sacramento location has always been the busiest. I think that’s because it’s the most popular location as it’s across the street from where the original location used to be. And within the new location they have the front entrance of the old location, conveniently setup in the back on display. So new and old patrons alike get a good since of how small the original location was, and where they got the name ‘The Squeeze Inn’ from. But surprisingly this time we went, it wasn’t packed at all. And walking up to the location there wasn’t a line waiting outside, which was a good sign. And there was just enough seating for the three of us, to be able to sit up at the front. Every time I come here I don’t get else anything but the Squeeze with Cheese, so this time was no different. My oldest son decided to get the same, and my youngest got the grilled cheese, and the three of us share a batch of fries. The food didn’t disappoint, the cheese skirts were HUGE! When you let them cool off, you can’t bite them down to get to the juicy burger, or you can tear them off and enjoy them as crispy cheesy chip. My youngest son’s chilled cheese was the cheesiest grilled cheese sandwich that I’ve ever seen. There was one point where after taken a bite, he pulled away from the sandwich to tear away his bit… and the warm melty cheese, just kept on stretching away! It was definitely picture worthy… and my boys LOVED it!

When you come here you come mostly for the nostalgia given this place was featured on the food network show diners drive ins and dives. Personally I think the burgers are just ok. I’m a huge fan of cheese so the cheese skirt idea is brilliant. The burger itself is super bland and nothing spectacular. By the time u add on all the toppings to make ur burger more tasteful it’s damn near a $ 12-$ 14 burger.

The patti was good but I was overwhelmed with the cheese! They should give«just a regular cheeseburger» as an option too! Still a must try!

It had been a very long time since I had last been to the Squeeze and this particular location, maybe a couple years, as I have been out of town. However, upon returning for lunch on a Friday the staff, or at least the main person taking orders, remembered me, which is great for customer service and satisfaction. I enjoyed the squeeze with cheese of course and it was what I had remembered with the huge cheese skirt. The burger itself lacks a little flavor and the bun seems too large but it doesn’t matter because it’s all about the cheese.
