Great Italian meal! Salad and bread are always amazing, and Pasta Sienna is my favorite. The new zoodles are also fantastic if you are looking for a lower carb option.

Service was AWESOME, felt right at home, had been here before(yes not very many customers the 1st time) but the food was still great. My husband wanted to try the café so i ordered something new and every bite was delicious. Why I didn’t give it 5stars. Due to mothers day(they considered it a holiday?) no coupons were excepted, no groupons and or other coupons. Overall though my entire family enjoyed this little gem.

I was visiting from new York and wanted Italian food. I passed the restaurant several times and finally went in. The food was real good. I had the special linguini with clam sauce. It was made different from what I expected. A lemon sauce instead of garlic sauce. It was still good. The menu could be more extensive.

Went in and told there was going to be a fifteen minute wait. Ended up being a 30 minute wait. Once we finally got seated, it took about 5 minutes for anyone to come to the table to take our food and drink order. The food took FOREVER to come out. The people next to us got seated about 10 minutes after us and got their food before us. The waitress finally came over and said«I think someone took your entrée. They are making a new one now.» Why would you tell someone that?! Also, she did not apologize at all. It probably took about a half hour to finally get our food. They were pretty busy, but they did have a lot of people working. The food was not good for the price. Would not return.

My friend got hair in her order, ew. The place was empty when we went, which was 12pm on a Saturday. Service was still kind of slow at that time, which was astounding. I ordered a pizza, which was very small and bland. I don’t think I’ll be back.

This review is based on a pick up order, I didn’t have the chance to dine in. I placed an order for the Chicken Alfrado around 11am and it was ready to be picked up in about 15min. The gentleman Jim who helped me was very sweet. While I was waiting for my order they asked if I would like some water as well. The food is in generous portions, very hot and delicious! I will be back again very soon!

I stopped here for lunch today and it was a huge mistake. It took 10 minutes to get water, at that point I should have just cut my losses and left. The alfredo dish was literally the worst pasta dish I’ve ever had, and the lasagna had zero texture just like stouffer’s frozen lasagna. The décor looks like you’re in the maxx from saved by the bell, or any other early 90s soap opera. This place needs a rescue, badly. Avoid

It was pretty good considering all the not-so-great reviews. I decided from the other reviews to order The minestrone soup and house salad. My husband got the lasagna in pie? Both very good. We had two baskets of bread, the kids loved it. They had the kids meal of spaghetti. The staff were very attentive. Not bad.

When we walked in we were greeted very warmly and seated right away. Service is very good and the atmosphere is very homely in a way like you would feel in your mother’s kitchen. The seafood bisque was definitely more of a tomato soup so that was a slight disappointment but my mom’s minestrone was slightly better. I do have to say as soon as I tried my entrée though, my visit went from ehhh I guess it’s alright to wow I’m coming back here and soon. My mom tried the salmon balsamic And I had the salmon pescatora. Both were absolutely amazing. I have never tried more tender and perfectly cooked salmon. I definitely suggest people come here for lunch as it’s not too busy and try their amazing food!

Came with a group of 4… Good service. The waitress was friendly and made drink recommendations. We ordered the chicken Parmesan and the beef ribs with mashed potatoes. Food was good. Appetizers was bread and salad… really good cheesy bread. I would go back, not a lot of choices and the menu does not have pictures.

The house salad(fully loaded) served with hot garlic bread was totally delicious. Next Rose(my waitress) served my Lasagna with creamy tolinii piking hot just like I like it., :-). The best I’ve had in a long time… The service was awesome and my waitress was very attentive.

I have been eating here for at least 10 years now. Their pastry stuffed lasagna is like heaven in your mouth. Their house salad with garlic dressing(their homemade creation) is amazing! I could eat it all day. A bit pricey so go during lunch time, they have the same menu as they do at dinner time, but half the price.

My wife and I love this place. They’re service is on point and personable. Their bread is awesome, and I think their chicken parm beats any local Italian spot. If you don’t have time to dine in, they really take care of you with takeout. Note: none of this applies to the Strings on Micron Ave. The two locations are night and day!

Me and my lover and friends were looking to satisfy our hunger and strings seemed to offer to all of us what we wanted. We picked it up it was quick within 10 minutes food was already in our hands. Fast service we thought but arrived home we unpacked our food and we were left with only mediocre food. The boys not having a fancy pallet didn’t care much and ate the food only complaining at how tasteless it was for my part my food ended up in the trash. I love ribs of all kind i find it one of the tastiest meats and i am not a meat lover but no where before had someone ruined ribs for me until today. I ordered braised beef ribs and i was left with a stew in a quite very tasteless brown sauce and green beans that were severely overpowered by garlic. Lifeless long strips of beef that was very fatty and nervous with over beat mashed potatoes and overly garlic smelling and uncooked green beans…

Service was friendly and quick. Décor was shabby and outdated. Felt drab and kinda gross. The food was so sub-par it was not really worth eating. I wouldn’t go back. Way too much money for lousy Italian food. Side note: who puts raisins on a salad??? Really???

The food was great and the service from Rose was very good. The only reason I give it only three stars is that we had asked for someplace quiet during our lunch. They sat us close enough to the kitchen that every time Rose came to and from the kitchen she loudly announced«corner». We were one of only two tables in the restaurant and they weren’t busy with employees bustling in and out. After about 15 «corner“s we started twitching and gripping our knives tighter. Please Rose just look around the corner when you get there and you won’t plow into anybody. I know you’ll say this is a safety issue but many higher dollar establishments don’t do this and find a way to work around this bothersome habit. Thanks!

This was my first time at String’s. I came with my 16&6 year old sons. We were seated at the corner table to the left from where we entered. The table top was extremely wobbly. We were immediately greeted by our server Rose. My boys shared the Lasagna & Cheese Shells Combo while I had the Shrimp & Sausage Fusilli Daily Special. My boys had the Seafood Bisque which was pretty good. I had the house salad which was very fresh. Our entrees were delivered promptly after we finished our salad and soup. The lasagna was good. My son especially liked the sauce. However the Cheese Shell was undercooked and the fillong extremely dry. Not ordering that again. As for my dish, the shrimp was too chewy for my liking however I’m not one to waste food. Overall service was great(4 Stars). Rose was very attentive. Quality of food not so good(2 Stars). Ambiance was that of a diner, casual setting. First impression, likely not to return. If i do, i hope the food will be better. In the end, I should have told Rose how I felt about the food.

This is one of my favorite Italian style chain restaurants. While we used to go to the String’s located in Elk Grove frequently, things started changing there where the food and/or service were not consistent. Because of this, it has been a few years since we were back there and then I noticed that it is now closed! Joe K and I happened to be shopping in the north area and started getting hungry for dinner. Several nearby restaurants were all closed on Sundays until we spotted this Strings Café welcoming us with open arms! It had been a while since we last ate at a String’s, but I was happy to see that the menu didn’t change from when I remembered it. All of my favorites were still available. This made for a hard decision, until the Eggplant Parmesan caught my attention. The eggplant was cooked to perfection — delicious, sliced eggplant, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The side of pasta with Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. Joe K ordered spaghetti with meatballs and also enjoyed his food. The meal always comes with your choice of soup or salad in which we usually get the Café Salad. I just love their all-you-can-eat salad that contains all kinds of goodies in a mildly sweet Italian dressing. Fresh baked bread is also included. Our server Amanda was pleasant and efficient as she provided us with a memorable late afternoon dining experience. I had almost forgotten about how much I used to like String’s restaurants. I’m glad I was reminded about what we were missing!
