Had our company holiday party here and the food and service were on point.

What I love about this place is the service. I’m a foodie so I love their food too. But the servers here are just so thoughtful and fantastic I just have to mention it. I’ve mentioned my food allergy before, and when I went back the next time, they remembered and told me that as soon as I sat down, he said he already notified the kitchen. Wow. That’s great service! Now, the food. They change menu seasonally. We have gone through 2 or 3 menus so far, and they all have been really good. My favorite on current menu is duck. Crispy Duck Confit Salad. The skin is nice and crispy and the meat is nice and moist. It’s light, but the during the hot summer months, it’s nice to have a salad as dinner. And let’s be honest. Having duck is not THAT light. Also, I usually have Carpaccio Beef with Arugula as appetizer too, and then dessert so salad for dinner is just about the right amount. But they do have steak or something heavier for people who want to have larger dinner too. Another thing I like about this place is that they have nice outside seating area on sidewalk. They are very dog-friendly. Servers are dog-friendly.

TableVine is a bit removed from the happening parts of downtown, but by no means is it unworthy. TableVine offers haute cuisine with no particular focus. My friend had Wiener Schnitzel, I had a fried half chicken, and French-inspired seafood was prominent on the menu. Despite not narrowing their culinary scope, everything we tried — especially dessert — was stellar. And perhaps most notable were the reasonable prices. For a restaurant with $ 3,000 bottles of wine, the entrees were considerably cheaper than establishments like Waterboy, and BETTER. The prices aren’t far from those of Olive Garden, but the quality of food and service rivals that of someplace in the Michelin guide.

Six of us went on Thursday night. Very intimate setting. I had special the sword fish with mango sauce, surprisingly good combination, guinoa and baby spinach were excellent. Spring lettuce with beet salad was also very good. I didn’t taste the fried chicken but was told good and so was the chimichuri sauce. Wiener schnitzel was ok the sauce made it taste better. Franklin Chardonnay was excellent choice we made as our server(also the sommelier) agreed. My sword fish was not cooked all the way, I don’t like it rare, quickly he took it back few minutes later brought it back perfectly cooked! ?(Not over cooked) Coffee was very hot which I give extra point! Lemon peel came with my cappuccino. Why? To ease the bitterness of coffee, never heard of that before… Chocolate mousse was very good. Chef came out and talked to us. Very friendly as all of the servers. One Menu for all day! A little pricy for lunch I wonder. I want to come back and try other items on the menu.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, great staff. The food tasted very fresh and flavorful, and was pretty low priced considering how fancy it is. Also, the crème brûlée was amazing!

We went there as a group of 8 and overall the dinner was very good. We had excellent service and I think most of us felt the food quality was anywhere between good to excellent. I personally had the clam chowder(very good) and the scallops which was one of the specials. The Scallops were tender and tasty. I tasted my girl friend’s fried chicken which was moist and flavorful — I tasted maybe just a little too much of a clove spice however. They provided exceptional, personal service to our group, not keeping us waiting for anything. I never had to ask for more water as it was always filled before my glass was empty. The Zin I had at $ 6/glass was very good, although I wasn’t the only one that thought they maybe a little skimpy on the pour. I also hope they add a decent craft beer selection in the future. Our server had no problem giving us separate checks, although after we left we realized that our bill had an extra drink charged — I am assuming it was accidently put on ours and left off one of our dinner mate’s bill.

An intimate and elegant restaurant with great wine knowledge, attentive staff, and overall wonderful ambiance. I caught up with a friend over dinner here. The noise level was just right for having good conversations, warm with occasional laughter but not too loud. The restaurant is located in what used to be Bistro Michel. This new setup does not use the bar area at the south end, but they will likely expand into it as business grows. Also good to know that there are two entrances and either one will work. I had the vindaloo, my friend had the Thai curry mussels, and we shared the pizetta. The pizetta was excellent! I liked the combination of cheese and arugula. The curry was creamy and delicious, especially as a dipping sauce for bread. The wine recommended by staff for each dish was also on point; I wouldn’t hesitate to go with their recommendations in the future. The only thing I didn’t like was the vindaloo… the flavor just wasn’t there for me and I found the squash slightly underdone. Would I return? Yes, for the wine and service. I would probably stay away from the Indian dishes.

We just visited for dinner. We had planned to try another new place, but it was closed on Tuesday. Myhusband remembered this place from a review and we tried it. Fabulous! On a weeknight it was cozy, friendly, and quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting across the table(shouting seems to be the mode of communicataion in midtown eateries). My husband had the special – a lamb shank – which was good, if a bit salty. I had the Vindaloo on basmati rice which was perfect. There was a nice balance of spice and a great combination of textures from califlower, potatoes, peas – you get the picture. The dessert of lemon pudding cake on a coulis of blueberry/blackberries – perfect. The menu is interesting, manageable, as was the wine list. My pinot noir rose came at a near perfect temperature. The staff were delightful – personable, no stuffiness or pretention, yet knowledgeable and available to our needs. Dan, the owner and head chef, was out and about on the night we visited, and made us feel like we were old friends. We can hardly wait to go back.

We visited last night, a Wednesday Night at the end of the month. It was a slow night. Half of the dining room was left open and the solarium was filled with just six persons. Later in the evening at about 8:00, another couple dropped in and were not seated for dining for 45 minutes even though there was plenty of seating available. We guessed that they were not seated because the kitchen could not keep up with the orders of the first set of evening diners. That was our major issue with our dining experience at TableVine. The service was extremely sloooow. Our orders were taken and our first course of calamari did not arrive for at least 30 minutes. The three of us also ordered fried chicken, Jaeger Schnitzel and Asparagus Risotto as our main course. This unfortunately did not arrive until another 30 minutes passed. So for the three of us, our main courses were not served for at least one full hour. Since we had not ordered any wine or beer, the wait seemed incredibly long. The food was served hot and tasted fine but by then, we kind of lost our appetite. We did not bother looking at the dessert menu.

Great place for indulging in good food and some wine. Went during happy hour and wine glasses were half off, good variety of wine but would have liked some more options from Napa. The menu is somewhat seasonal and I was lured in by the pulled pork perogis announced on the easel outside; wish it were always on the menu… and the price as well. Highly recommend the Parmesan crusted halibut with creamy polenta. Also recommend the asparagus risotto. Cute little place for dinner, looking to try the brunch menu in the near future.

Exquisite. I’ve been making my way through Sacramento eating at every restaurant featuring new flavor, and Tablevine? Has blown away every restaurant on the grid claiming to be the freshest Sacramento has to offer. To start, the wait staff was the classiest, and attentive I have experienced in quite a long time. The atmosphere was private, yet unpretentious. We were attended to promptly, often, and with genuine interest. The menu was extensive. Being with someone who does not eat pork, he was still offered a generous selection unlike most of the local venues trying to keep up with a bacon fad. He had the New York steak which was prepared perfectly to request. The crème brûlée was the perfect end to an incredible meal. Over all, after dining at the Porch, Esquire, and numerous in the area, I will be choosing to return to Tablevine above all others. It truly is a refreshing dining experience that you will not be disappointed with in any way shape or form. And no I don’t know anyone who works there, and didn’t receive any discount for this. I was just honestly amazed with my experience and believe everyone needs to visit this establishment. Happy eating :)

5 stars for their deep fryer! Say what now? I wouldn’t normally write about a place I’ve only been to once and/or tried less than 5 dishes. However, this place left such a great impression, I couldn’t wait to get back to work and write about it! Wait. what? shhh. forget that last part. I entered at the wrong end. «That’s what he said.» But seriously, the front is on the corner of 14th and O, not the side door on 14th. First thing I noticed was a dog bed by the register. Being a crazy dog lady, I instantly liked this place. But where’s the dog?! The place is super cute for a wine-bar. Lots of windows for bright lighting during the day, and bum-watching for the nights while you drink your loneliness away. * Duck confit salad * What a big portion of duck breast! In the past, most DCS I’ve had only had 2 – 3 small pieces. This one. DAYYMN. And the skin was SOCRISPY! Yumm. The salad could use a little dressing, but the duck made up for it. Potatoes were like country potatoes, crispy outside, pillowy softness inside. Great mix of flavors and textures with the cherry tomatoes and hard-boiled egg. This salad is NOT a skinny salad girls. * Fried Chicken * Again, SOCRISPY!!! It was nicely salted as well. Inside was piping hot and juicy. The chimichurri was a little thick, but the flavor was all there. I wasn’t a fan of the fries because it wasn’t the type I usually like, but my friend loved them. * House Bread * I wasn’t expecting much out of free bread, but surprise! It’s like they baked them fresh out back. The top had that nice crunch and the fluffiness was of freshly baked bread. Not dense at all. The guy manning the register served us as well. I’m guessing he might be the owner? He was great! Great service, nice chat with us, and very attentive. He even asked us if we had any time constraints so that he could cater the service based on it. Kudos for watching out for those confined by «the man’s» lunch hour. They’ve only been open a couple of months, but they’ve got this resto-biz down! I can’t wait to go back without time-constraints to load up on vino and tapas! Any takers?

I walk or jog past this place all the time and finally got the opportunity to go in and take part. Their happy hour deal on wine– ½ off is awesome! $ 7 for 2 glasses of Riesling– that’s nice. There’s a few food items on happy hour, and my friend ordered the mini pizza– he said it was decent for $ 5. I did however just want a little sampling of both the cheese and meat platters instead of ordering both for almost $ 27– but the chef said that was not allowed. Shouldn’t they be willing to accommodate the customer? Ho hum. I just sipped my wine and smiled. Otherwise staff was nice. I might go back for dinner but not totally sure.

This place has a very intimate feel to it and not to mention a very extensive wine list. Prices are very reasonable and the menu ranges from beef carpaccio to vindaloo to pizzetta. Big props to Mitch who came back from the lunch shift to let us try some new wine. We have a new local favorite!

Quaint. That’s seems to be the word that I keep coming back too for my experience here. As always, I’m always looking for new places on the Grid, any place that happily sells wine too is also an extra bonus in my book. Antonia R. offered to take me out for my birthday, so we met here(with her other friend too) on a drizzly Friday night for a girls dinner. She made reservations, but when I was the first to arrive I had to wait at least ten minutes for our table. After about 8 of those minutes, they offered me a drink menu to order one, then a couple minutes later they sat me. There isn’t anything fancy about the set-up, it’s cute. It’s quaint. Simple décor, but not overly pretentious. I ordered their only Cab Sav on the menu, before the girls arrived. Shortly after the girls arrived they ordered different white wines. We chatted, laughed, and then finally ordered our food. To start, we shared the ‘Selection of Artisan Cheeses, Seasonal Garnish, and Toasted Baguette’. We enjoyed the three different cheeses they provided, especially the Brie, it was so creamy and buttery. The fits were really good as well, one of the gals had never tried one before, so that was a sight to watch her eat one. Also, the baguette to cheese ratio did not work for us. We asked for more and they obliged, however, I’m not sure if they charged us for the additional carbs or not? For my entrée, I went with the ‘Pizzetta with Roasted Brussels Sprout, Bacon, Fingerling Potato, Fontina Cream, Brandy Syrup,’ sadly without the Bacon. Yes, you read that correctly. It being a Friday during lent, meant that my options were limited. That and they were out of the scallops already(which they were surprised about, but I reminded them it was Friday + Lent). This pizza was amazing and I don’t think that was the wine talking. Everything was complimentary and tasty. I was skeptical about the brandy syrup, but that hint of sweet was perfect. It was a favorite among the table. AR ordered the ‘Spinach Crêpe with Smoked Mozzarella, Ricotta, Parmesan, White Cream Sauce, Lemon’ and we kinda shared with each other. It was good, but not as good as the pizza. The crêpe was expertly cooked and the mixture was cheesy, creamy goodness, but it just wasn’t as good or flavorful as the pizza. The portion size was much smaller than I had anticipated. We couldn’t skip dessert, even though we were pretty full. They let me chose, since it was my birthday. I went with the cheesecake with berries. I’m not sure of the official name of the item, but that’s basically what it was! It was really good and it had a good cheesecake to crust ratio, which is what is important to me. I love cheesecake crust, the more the better! I did try a glass of their Cab/Red blend, but I didn’t like it as much as the Cab Sav, by the glass. They don’t have too many options by the glass, but they have a huge selection of bottles to order. We aren’t that fancy, so we were a little limited. The girls stuck with their white wine choices and everyone left super happy. The servers were awesome, super friendly and never batted an eye when we asked them to take about 20 pictures of us — sitting, standing, all of it! I truly hope they survive on the Grid. The pricing is on par with like minded spots on the Grid, a little steep for an every day dinner, but great for a treat or the boughie folk! I left happy and ready to come back again to try something else. Their menu isn’t huge and I’m hoping they rotate it seasonally to see what else the Chef can come up with. That pizzetta was so memorable, I can almost still taste the roasted burssel sprouts!

Excellent restaurant — one of the best in Sacramento. Everything was perfect. The pizzetta with roasted brussels sprouts, bacon, fingerling potato, fontina cream and brandy syrup was a highlight. It’s the size of a medium or large pizza. I get scared of unusual pizzas sometimes, but nothing to worry about here. The fish special was perfect cooked and served with grapefruit and quinoa. Portuguese Kale Soup was spicy! My dad ate every bit of the deconstructed chicken pot pie. The have a good wine selection, and signature cocktails as well. We enjoyed the desserts too, with the cheesecake being a highlight for me. The chocolate mouse wasn’t too fluffy. Executive Chef Scott McNamara obviously knows what he’s doing and the«fine-art of casual dining» theme is executed flawlessly, with all dishes being interesting and creative, but still hearty and in good-sized portions.

My boyfriend and I headed here for a prevalentine’s dinner on 2⁄13. We were a little bit early for our 7:30 reservation but were immediately seated; they have several tables all decorated with flowers and candles. Intimate yet casual, no need to get super dressed up here. Our server, Skyler I believe, was so sweet. The wine list is huge and she gave us plenty of time to pick out a bottle, and offered to take any of our wine questions to the owner. We settled on a Chianti, which the owner came over and opened/poured for us. We also ordered a cheese plate to start, and my boyfriend(who is a huge brie fan) said it was the best triple crème brie he’s ever had. It was perfect! There was also manchego, blue cheese, jam, honey, walnuts, toasted baguette, and figs. So good. One small complaint is that it would have been great if they had a separate butter knife(there was also bread and butter) and cheese knife, but our waitress didn’t mind bringing us new utensils for the meals and in fact offered to do so. They have lots of delicious sounding options on the menu, and we finally decided on the flat iron steak for my boyfriend and the duck leg for me. Both are perfect portions, not a ridiculously huge serving size like it usually is in the US. The steak was delicious with the chimichurri sauce and hasselback potatoes, and my duck was good as well and came with white beans, bacon, and I think tomatoes. It could have used some salt, which they unfortunately do not have on the table. I got an espresso with dessert, which is only $ 1! We got the chocolate mousse cake, the mousse was great and the cake part was okay. It came with whipped cream and a raspberry. Great place to come and linger over some good food. Next time I will have to try the carpaccio!

Take this review with«A grain of salt», pun intended. I never cook with excessive salt and am never the type to use the salt shaker at a restaurant. Granted this is a new place and there will be growing pains but you can tell how a chef cooks. We had the scallops and the steak as the main course, so I’ll speak on those. The scallops came on a cauliflower purée and the steak came with a play on baked potatoes and chimichurri. The actual scallops had good flavor but slightly over cooked. The cauliflower purée however was a disappointment. This is where salt comes into play. The purée needed salt. Now when I say salt, I don’t mean salty flavor, rather salt is needed to bring out the flavor of the item that is being eaten. This goes for the steak as well. The chimichurri sauce had good flavor but when I got to the actual meat, it had little flavor. Once again, salt is needed to bring out the flavor of the meat. This echoed with the potatoes. It was a play on baked potato meats au gratin. It was thinly sliced with a bread crumble but again it needed the enhancement of salt. And although personal taste, the potatoes probably needed a wet element, be it a herbed butter or a bechamel. I will return for the service and concept but I hope the restaurant takes this as a honest review and not any type of bashing.

This place was expensive for lunch. The entrees were like $ 12 – 19 and appetizers cost $ 7-$ 13. The portions were small. The service was superb but it doesn’t make up for the salty duck leg confit and beans didn’t compliment the dish at all. Overall the chicken pot pie dish wasn’t appetizing because it was just big pieces of onions with peas and two pieces of chicken but the sauce that went on top was good. All the dishes are«Au la carte» which means it doesn’t come with anything. I got special soup which was a butternut squash soup and had pomegranate and pumpkin seeds. Nothing special about this place.
