This is time you should be open. I called Mark earlier in the day to let him know that I would be there to pick up some candy between 4:30−5. He reserved some candy for me and I came around 4:40pm and it’s closed. It’s Christmastime. And you knew I was on my way to pick up some specific candy and it’s closed. I can’t get down here very much but I’ll just take my business elsewhere. Such a disappointment Mark. That’s not how you treat a customer. I’ll just go to Candy Heaven and Munchies.

There is no shortage of candy stores in Old Sacramento, Candy Barrel, so y’all might want to check your tone lest people start taking their money to more pleasant candy piles. Chocolate-covered almonds were good.

Not too much of a fan for salt water taffy but I do like the banana flavor. If you love salt water taffy then this is the place to go. They have a few dozen flavors to choose from. Just pick up a bucket and fill it up with your favorites since it sells by the pound. What’s I liked about coming here is that they validate your parking for the garage if you spend more than $ 5. Hey now that is a good deal, it’s like stealing candy from a baby.

Lots of saltwater taffy options that are quite tasty and, for a pretty good sized bag with lots of variety, not too expensive. There are a few candy stores in Old Sac, particularly saltwater taffy ones. We only visited this one. There were no free samples allowed, which made me sad cause I read on Unilocal about Old Sac that most candy stores do allow sampling. Do your research before going, but if you waltz into this one I imagine you’ll do just fine.

After visiting Munchies just around the corner I was really let down coming here as not only is the selection smaller but the staff were not so friendly. Not once did the 2 young males working(I use that word loosely) take a break from their conversation to greet us or see if we needed help. We were clearly trying to get their attention to ask if they had a particular candy after walking around the store looking. Save yourself the time and go to one of the other many candy stores in Old Sac.

Our boys really liked this place, they give it 5 stars. Pretty pricy though, Dad’s giving it 4.

Buried Under Tons of Candies, Chocolates and Confections! SITREP Okay okay, with my extensive wanderings in Old Sacramento, I was bound to find this place sooner or later. I’m just happy it was SOONER! Ever since I was a little tyke, one thing that afflicted me was a SWEETTOOTH like you wouldn’t believe! I WAS that little kid in the store SCREAMING and throwing a TEMPERTANTRUM if I didn’t get my «SWEETIE»(like the kid in the«ZAZOO Condom» ad whose poor father had to deal with him! ) ;^D But I digress about my torrid youth… moving on to the GOODSTUFF! THEMENUOFOPPORTUNITY! As the Candy Barrel itself trumpets, they carry a vast assortment of candies, chocolates and confections, including, including: * Over 60 flavors of Salt Water Taffy including favorites such as Banana, Carmel Apple, Buttered Popcorn, Peanut Butter, Guava & Mango. * Over 40 flavors of Jelly Belly jelly beans including favorites like Very Cherry, Blueberry, Margarita, A&W Rootbeer, & Assorted Sours. * Suckers for suckers! Unicorn Pops! Rainbow Pops! * A HUGE selection of hard candies including favorites like Rock Candy, Sesame Sticks, Atomic Fire Balls, etc. But with a history of diabetes running in my family, I am also a bit shy of sugar, so I am overwhelmed with the variety of sugar free candies and confections including sugar-free Salt Water Taffy, sugar-free Nut and Toffy Mixes and other assorted sugar-free Hard Candies. THELOWDOWN If you have a hardcore hankering for the hard stuff, and the sweet stuff, and the sweet hard stuff, then this is the place to go!

A nice selection of salt water taffy and other candies. Even some throwbacks you don’t see in regular stores, so fun, tasty nostalgia! All of the barrels make it more enjoyable somehow too. The prices are okay. We got a handful of different candies for 3 bucks. This is a good stop while roving Old Sac!
