The Lewis Center of Dance

This studio is unprofessional, there is no dress code and the teacher does not give corrections. Do NOT send your child here if you want them to learn proper technique and etiquette. I came here for a day then never came back again, it was that bad. The teacher teaches what she calls her own style which isn’t really even a style honestly. She even said «we don’t do that here» (referring to the proper way to PREPARE for a combination which is the way you STAND– VERY IMPORTANT). The way the schedule works isn’t great either, once a week for your age group, 30 minutes for each style they offer. In reality the teacher has a strong love of tap she even said. So you know what we did that day? 20 minutes of ballet, 45 minutes of Tap, and 15 minutes of Jazz! In fact, it’s shocking honestly that she is considering a pre pointe class when the dancers are beginners at most. That is a sign to RUN as far away from the studio as possible, if a student is en pointe when only taking one class a week that is room for 1) Serious injury 2) Bad Technique.

I love that I have Zumba right around the corner from my house. I usually go to Saturday morning classes, but there are a lot of other flexible options that match my equally flexible schedule. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed!
