Sooo sad they closed :( Best Gelato in town~! It might be the friendly people, or the casual comfortable atmosphere, or the great desserts, or the fact that they are open late but whatever it is I love this place. Ask for Fred and you will always get dessert with a smile.

Incredible. Delicious. Satisfying. This bakery is me and my boyfriend’s go-to place. I love the red velvet cupcake and he always goes for the macaroons, but all of their desserts are sure to please. They have a wonderful gelato variety and the gelato-cookie sandwiches are a MUSTHAVE. Above all, the service is amazing. I’m sure the two dessert places on the same block are very intimidated by TreyB. LOVELOVELOVE

I’m only giving three stars because of the service, the chocolate crackle cookie and the gelato. Everything else I’ve tried has been very disappointing. The salted caramel cupcake had lots of caramel filling, but the frosting was terrible! It was like a big hard block of caramely fudge. Not good for frosting. The other cupcakes I’ve tried we’re also boring or bland. The s’mores and rocky road brownies are just plain(but tasty) brownies with a small amount of toppings sprinkled on. When I got the s’mores brownie, I was exited for marshmallow and graham cracker throughout, not just a little on top. Overall, nothing special. But one guy is always working(maybe the owner?) and he is super nice and helpful.

Everything I had from here has been great but I still have a lot to try so couldn’t quite give it a five… Mostly I have stuck to the cupcakes(coconut is my favorite) and mini pies(gotta love classic apple) They have a simple but nice lunch menu that I want to try out. Overall the place is clean, the owner is super nice(which is an added bonus) and they have a lot of variety!

A cute spot. I popped in here to get a coffee, and ended up with a specially made BLT! They offer a BLT burger. Hoping to get the toppings w/out the meat, they said sure, they can do a custom sandwich. The BLT had a great aioli, and was served on a tasty roll. Service is fab, the food’s good, and the location is charming.

I cannot say enough good things about Trey, Fred, or the sweet treats that can be found here. Any date the boyfriend and I go on, always ends with a stop here for a nibble and some coffee. Lemon Bars: I, for one, do NOT like lemon bars. However, my boyfriend loves them, and orders them here frequently. I eventually tried a bite of his after much insistence. Then another. Then another. Well, hell, turns out I do like lemon bars from Trey B. French Macarons: I have searched high and low for a place that does GOOD macarons since my favorite spot closed. Some I found were terrible, some were passable, but the ones here make my little heart happy. We probably are in here 2+ times per week getting some of these tasty little bites. Coffee: Fred makes our coffee every time, and does a lovely job. My latte is always prompt and tasty. Never too hot, never too cold, never too creamy, never too strong, it is the Goldilocks of lattes. Service: For those of you that have complained about service, I wonder if the problem doesn’t lie here, but perhaps with your attitude. Trey and Fred have never been anything but gracious, welcoming, and lovely conversation. Trey does NOT have an attitude, as others have suggested. Perhaps you weren’t a peach of a customer and he didn’t kneel and kiss your ring, but that certainly doesn’t make him rude. Fred is an absolute sweetheart as well, and always gives top-notch customer service. Added bonus– they have a little jar of dog treats for your four-legged friends.

I was on my way to the Buckhorn Grill when I came across Trey B a few years ago. It was still fairly new so I decided to give them a try. Their gelato is delish! I love the rose gelato. They offer samples. It is not one of their homemade items. I can’t remember the name of the company that makes the gelato but all of the flavors they offer are absolutely amazing. I think their prices are reasonable for the quality of the items they have. I’ve only had dessert there but they do make food. There is a Gentleman who is always there when I drop by but I cannot remember his name. He’s absolutely hospitable and extremely nice. He is a big part of the reason I keep going back; exemplary customer service.

3.5÷5 stars Been meaning to try this place out ever since I started going to Ginger’s a lot. When I walked in to grab some dessert, I was shocked to see the steep prices. $ 6 for a slice of cake seemed a bit much to me, but the slices was twice the size as most other bakeries, so that made it worth it. During the short time we were there, the service was alright. Nothing exceptional, but not bad. Inside is very bright and clean. My boyfriend and I got a slice of the lemon cake to go. We ended up sharing with two other people, so it fed a total of 4 people(not bad for $ 6 now). I really liked the slightly spongy texture of the cake. A lot of places tend to use something more crumbly that’s less dense, but TreyBCakes was a bit different than most places. The lemon flavor wasn’t overpowering at all, and there was a nice balance of vanilla and lemon flavors. The buttercream frosting was great as well. A lot of bakeries tend to forget the fact that using real butter and taking the time to make a good frosting is just as important as baking a good cake, but TreyBCakes did a great job. Although I really enjoyed the lemon cake, the selection of items to choose from were scarce. I love baked goods, so bakeries are some of my favorite places ever, and I just wasn’t impressed by their small selection. I would love to come back another day and try a few other items though.

Stopped here for lunch because all the great reviews about their desserts, however I decided to try their food from the lunch menu. I expected a lunch time rush, but I encountered the opposite, I was greeted right away and my order promptly taken. As I waited, I was informed about the complimentary refreshing ice cold water infused with a mint plant from the looks and taste. I know its just water but it was great. I ordered the chicken sandwich and I was SOLD after the first bite! The meat was juicy and just slightly charbroiled(amazing flavor), the bread fresh and soft, the aioli sauce was perfect and I became an instant fan. The place has nice seating inside and out. From the looks of the gelato and desserts, I’m looking forward to those experiences as well. Thank You for a simple yet flavorful lunch.

I’ve only had their banana crème pie so the 4 stars is solely for that and their awesome service. I called over the phone to place an order for a banana crème pie and they made it really easy. I asked if I can add a happy birthday message and they happily took my order. When I arrived, the man behind the counter said the birthday message was written in chocolate on top of a white chocolate round, which is usually $ 3 but he wasn’t going to charge me because he didn’t mention it over the phone prior. That was so sweet, I decided to buy a separate personal sized banana crème pie so my total for both pies came up to $ 30. The pie isn’t the best I’ve ever had(best is Tartine in SF) but it comes in second! At first, I had wished the crust was a bit thicker because it’s a thin layer. However, I had it again the second day and decided that that was just the right amount of buttery goodness. I probably wouldn’t complain if there was a bit more but still, just right. He added a layer of chocolate above the crust, which was a nice surprise and then came the layer of bananas, then the delicious custard, then topped with the rich cream. I loved it! Not too sweet at all. I would definitely come back if I was in the area for another personal sized one in the future!

I was so excited to finally make it to TreyBCakes but was left somewhat disappointed. Maybe it was the anticipation of waiting one year to come back to Sacramento to check them out, maybe it was seeing them on Cupcake Wars just 2 weeks before visiting I envisioned them to be better… who knows. The item’s Hubby and I tried were good, just not as good as I had hoped given all of the 4 and 5 star reviews and seeing them on the show. Mai Thai Cupcake — $ 3.25( ) I just happened to comment on Chef Jenni’s Facebook page that I was coming to Sacramento wanting to try this Cupcake while I was there to which she said she would make sure to have some made on the day I visited. so sweet of her! The presentation was so cute with fresh cherry and pineapple on top of the frosting and a cocktail umbrella. The Cake itself was moist with delicious Almond flavor but the Orange filling was almost nonexistent(a tiny little blob the size of my pinky nail) so I couldn’t taste it. The Citrus frosting was smooth and you could even see a couple of flecks of green which I assume was Lime peel for flavor. Bread Pudding — $ 4.50( ) Not Bread Pudding as such, more Chef Jenni’s take on it. Disappointing as we were expecting real Bread Pudding. Looking past the Caramel sauce on top it also chopped Nuts inside. It was soft and flavorful, more like dense Cake than a Pudding. Other than Cupcakes and the Bread Pudding they also sell Tarts, Cookies, Cake slices, Macaron’s, Cake Pops, Dessert Bars and Gelato as well as a full Lunch menu consisting of Sandwiches, Soup and Pot Pie’s. Service is friendly and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside. *TIP* Happy Hour Friday and Saturday evenings where you can get 1 Cupcake, 1 Cookie and 1 Dessert Bar for $ 6.

Update: this bakery was just on «Cupcake Wars» and came in second place, based on what I have sampled, they deserved first! Do you miss Hostess cupcakes as much as I do? Try their LuLu cupcake. Its the Norsdtrom of Hostess. The Bloomingdales of Hostess. You get the idea. Plus, its freshly made. Oh so choclately with a gooey creamy center. Are you drooling yet? I have mostly tried the bakery items. I know they have Gelato and lunch… but that LuLu cupcake beckons me every time.

My fiancé and I had just finished lunch and I was looking for a light dessert and something to quench my thirst. After picking up some macaroons next door we decided to check out Trey B Cakes. We were immediately greeted when we walked in then we moved on to scan the case. There wasn’t anything that really caught my eye until we got to the gelato. We settled on the Kahlua flavored gelato. It had a fresh coffee flavor with a touch of Kahlua. While I enjoyed the gelato what really hit the spot for me was the freshly brewed iced tea. The tea was deep red and had a hint of tropical or passion fruit making it aromatic and refreshing. My fiancé and I both agreed the iced tea was really good. Maybe it was still a little too early but there didn’t seem to be anything more interesting in the case. Hopefully next time we’ll get a chance to try something new.

I tried the Chocolate Stracciatella gelato(chocolate with chocolate shavings): Meh. The flavor is not as rich and complex as I was hoping for. I’ll stick to the goodies next door at Ginger Elizabeth.

Cute little dessert shop. First of all, the service is excellent. I believe it was Tracy that assisted me and she was passionate about their business, cheerful, and very helpful. Sampled a peanut butter tasting gelato — nothing special to me, tasted like regular ice cream. I ended up purchasing a carrot cupcake. I love carrot cake, so this cupcake was yum! The frosting and décor on it was neat and perfect and very tasty. Boyfriend tried the peanut butter bar. It was verrrry sweet but good for those who like the combination :) The only reason why I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars is because there wasn’t much selection during the time I walked in… which was around 1−2pm. Other than that, excellent service and yummy treats.

Ever tired of eating dessert and after feeling as if you just ate a whole stick of butter? Well, you won’t get that experience here. I love this place because their dessert is very simple, not too sweet, and delicious. I forget which specific dessert I ordered, but their cupcakes and cheesecakes are on point. I would definitely pick this place over Rick’s. The atmosphere is quiet and a good spot to get that intimate feel going. I was surprised to find out they open late, never a bad thing. The owners are also really nice. I would definitely come back here to try the gelato! =)

You need to go over to Trey B Cakes like right now. Then you need to get a pumpkin bundt cake before the season is over. This little cake is so delicious I like passed out when I ate it. The frosting is perfect, it has a slight crunch on the outside of the cake. Then it melts in your mouth, no chewing needed! Really, they have some of the best desserts in town(see prior review). Trey et. al. are also really great people, personable, friendly, helpful, and fun. I’d prefer to spend my Friday night with them that my most recent date… Really great desserts, huge coffee cups, and awesome staff!

Oh boy! The staff here is ALWAYS a delight to see. Why?! They’re always in a chipper mood and that automatically brightens up my day. Also, their cakes makes my mouth smile. :) My favorite cakes there is the doris red cake, lemon cake, fruit basket, and the coconut. And my FAVORITE cupcake, the strawberry shortcake! It’s super fresh, moist with little chucks of strawberry baked inside the cake, and their strawberry whip cream on top is the icing on the cake. They also have a little surprise custard in the center of the cupcake. Also, their store is very spacious. It’s very modern and chic. Plenty of spaces to sit around, and on a cool evening, you can sit out and eat your goodies. Parking is OK, but you have to pay. Eww. Other than that, you’re good to go! TIP: STRAWBERRYSHORTCAKECUPCAKEE!!! nom nom nom!

Typically, Bread Pudding is not something that I would think of trying. Even so, I suggested my friend to order it. I am so glad I did because it was really good! You can order it cold or warm– get it warm! It was moist and not overly sweet– cinnamon and a light(caramel?) sauce on top. The next time I come here I would want to eat this again, especially since I’m not really a cake/cupcake person. I also sampled the Pecorino Cheese and Pear Gelato. Cheese gelato?! Very unique but not something I care to try again even though I’m a fan of cheese. The people who work here are really nice! Great customer service! One of them told me I could sample all the gelato if I liked. Another one of them gave us water even when we didn’t ask for any. [As Seen On Cupcake Wars]

Spanking brand-new place! Opened to the public today. I HAD to check it out because it’s just too darn close to work, and I needed a little something for lunch today. They had me at «Stud Muffins» «meatloaf wrapped in phyllo and topped with mashed potatoes and parmesan»… um, they didn’t mention bacon too — Yum. Really, the stud muffin was indeed, tasty. Kinda pricey for the size(average size cupcake) at $ 7.25! Hmmm? I thought the sign said $ 6.25? Maybe that was for the bacon quiche, which also beckoned. They also offer all kinds of baked goods, sandwiches, soup of the day, and salad. There were quite a few people in there for a late lunch. I’m always looking at other folks’ plates, but I didn’t really see anyone eating. As, I ordered my stud muffin and brownie zingo(raspberry brownie with a cream cheese frosting), I noticed plates of sandwiches coming out(meat ball sands.) with a side of potato chips. The sandwiches looked tasty, and of average size for the price(about $ 8-$ 10). Giving a higher rating for the variety they offer, but I’m not thrilled with the prices. And, I overheard one of the owners’ mention that they are working out the«sizing» of their goodies. That’s it for now, I gotta go take care of my stud muffin… so needing of my attention!
