Uncle Vito’s Slice of NY

I had to redeem myself at work from the last time I ordered pizza and I heard so many great things about Uncle Vito’s that I put my reputation on the line with this pizza spot. It is located on 16^th and P Street. The choices for pizzas were limited, but you can have a special pizza and customize it. I prefer a limited menu anyways because it shows that the place put a lot of time and effort into their food.
I ordered the Combination pizza and the Pesto Pizza. Both were a hit at my team luncheon and I gained their pizza respect again. The ingredients were top notch and they did not skimp on the toppings. Ever slice of the combination had pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and olives. The thing I really like about the pizza was the flavor and consistency of the crust. It was soft and had a nice crunch to it. I always avoid eating too much carb, if I can help it, but I found myself looking at an empty plate by the end of it.
The Pesto is a must try. Vegetarians and meat lovers alike loved this pizza. It is a very simple pesto based pizza, topped with feta cheese, and tomatoes, THAT IS IT! I enjoyed every bite of it and some people were fighting for the last slice.
They also have a killer happy hour special, 1 slice of pizza and a beer for $ 5. I heard the slice was the equivalent of 2 slices (FYI). I look forward to my next opportunity to eat here again.

Vitos is a great place to stop for lunch or even to stop at before a night out. The fries are amazing I personally love the Buffalo ranch fries and a slice of pizza with a beer for a great price. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends.

Stopped in and got a Hawaiian with mushrooms, a plain pepperoni, and upon guidance some Mac n cheese from pronto. Service was quick and pleasant, and the pizza was tasty. I like their crust. It’s fully cooked and they have quality toppings. This is one of the pizza shops I enjoy in sac when I just want a quick slice of quality pizza.

What is it about pizza air? You know what I’m talking about. It’s that warm air with those thick pizza dough melty cheese bubbly bacon-​peperoni fumes that wraps itself around you the moment you walk through the door of Uncle Vito’s. The pizza air immediately fills you up and takes control of your palate. I’m going to tell you straight up… that’s some fine air.
The pizza at uncle Vito’s is crispy in all the right places. On the other hand, it’s doughy and squishy in all the right places as well. The crust isn’t too thick like other pizza places, and the pepperoni, which happens to be my favorite, has a generous amount of pepperoni and is loaded with cheese. With an exceptional price point you can get a slice of peperoni and a beer for about $ 5.50 during HH. The doublewide slices amount to about ¼ of a regular sized pizza. So should you have two pieces, it’s almost the same as eating half a pizza. Yet in a strange round about sorta way, I feel less guilty. After all it’s only two slices… right? With all things considered Uncle Vito’s undoubtedly has the best pizza and beer deal in town. Be ready to wait in line as it gets long but moves quickly.

Went to their happy hour and it was quite impressive. $ 5 for a slice and a beer. The pizza was huge! And delicious. They also offered a selection of fries (huge portions again) for $ 3. Only downside was the seating (there wasn’t much). They do have an outdoor area but it was too chilly for that. Not great for large groups because they only have small circular tables.

Love this place especially during 12−1am after a night out. The special and the chicken pesto are the best. Sprinkle some cheese and crush peppers with some ranch and you’re good to go. Oh, and they offer a pizza and drink special. Everyone that works here is friendly and takes care of their customers. Will totally come back again

I tried their pesto pizza. It is a huge slice for the price. It came out hot and not too long of a wait.
They have a nice ambiance.
It is a little farther from my home. I will probably stick to urbanos and pieces.

As the Downtown journey continues, I decided to dine in at Uncle Vito’s Slice of NY for the first time. This local pizza place delivers the finest New York style pizzas right at your table especially some remarkable beers too! As I entered, the atmosphere is very laid back and comforting. The concept is very New York Pizza style feel filled with vintage backgrounds of well named craft beers and photographs of past New York experiences especially their furniture too.
The employees which includes bartender and pizza makers have done a fine job for making the customers very happy and ongoing. No cons for that service at all!
As for my food order, I ordered a slice of Combination pizza which it contains slices of pepperoni, olives, red onions, sausages, and cheese with marinara sauce. As I ate it, it tasted very homemade and fresh! I can feel the crust very crispy and eatable to bite! The ingredients of the slice of combo pizza tasted remarkably good! The flavors are top notch and delicious! Not a bad pizza at all! I haven’t got a chance to order a create your own pizza toppings since my first visit, but I’ll might be back in the next visits or so.
The parking can be harder to park. You can park it at the nearest parking garage, or surface street parking available. Otherwise, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the madness and hassles.
In the end, Uncle Vito’s Slice of NY is the coolest local pizza place every made in the Downtown/​Midtown neighborhood! A remarkable, unforgettable visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

A little hidden gem Downtown! I’ve walked by this place numerous times heading to Starbucks and didn’t know it was a pizza place… woah I was missing out!
This place is Ah-​mazing! Huge slice of pizza and super yummy! Has a divey-​bar feel which is kinda awesome!

Came here on a Thursday night and all I can say is… You cant beat the $ 5 slice-​and-​brew happy hour special, you just cant. I would recommend the pesto slice with added pepperoni with a pint of Lagunitas Little’ Sumpin’
Pizza is love, pizza is life…

Next to Pronto, you can walk from one to the other inside. This is helpful when one person in your party announces let’s have pizza and the other wants salad or pasta then this is the place for you.
Seating– Not bad, make friends, this is a pizza joint. If you don’t’ want to rub elbows with your neighbor eat outside.
Menu– pizza, if you don’t like it go next door and grab something at Pronto. Depending on your hunger level 1 piece may be plenty. A little greasy, but its pizza. If you want less grease get a salad.
Ambiance– loud, but it’s a pizza joint. What do you expect?

This place was packed for lunch on a Friday. they don’t offer the lunch buffet on Fridays??? weird. ok, maybe cuz of how busy it gets. But other than that, the pizza is pretty good. I like how they sell pizza by the slice. perfect for lunch when you can only finish one slice. The slices are super big too, almost as big as 2 slices.
The Thai fries are the best. they come from the restaurant next door called Pronto. Thin cut fries, drizzled with thai chili sauce and ranch, topped with chili flakes and jalapenos! super YUM

Came here with my girlfriend and her co-​workers for a goodbye party. They accommodated us inside no problem, and we all got the chance to order during happy hour. $ 5 for a slice of pizza and a cold beer? Whose gonna complain about that?
We actually got there right as happy hour was ending, so we were encouraged to hurry up and get the money saving deal (how nice, most places just try to rip you off!) I got a slice of the pesto, and it came out amazing. Was recommended the Alaskan amber ale, and it was great too. This is my second time here and certainly not my last.

Two words: pesto pizza. Hands down the best pizza in town!
The all you can eat lunch is worth it if you can eat more than 2 slices. The slices are HUGE so I’m full after 1 slice so I don’t bother doing all you can eat.
They also offer a special for $ 5 that includes a slice of pizza and beer.

Yeah… he can be my uncle alright. Do yourself a favor and stop and get pizza here! Order a fresh slice to go or sit and relax, enjoy a nice cold beer, and watch the game or catch up with friends. Uncle Vito’s is my weekend getaway. I refuse to go home on a late Saturday night until I’ve had a slice.

I came to Uncle Vito’s because I was craving a slice of pizza at lunch one day and I heard they are the best. After trying them out, I really agree with that opinion!
Parking is rough. Even around lunchtime on a weekday all I could find was a 15 minute spot. Expect to take a little walk if wanting something else because there are a lot of other restaurants in the area. Inside is small with a few tables, but they do have a nice patio area out front.
You order at the counter and sit down. They will call your name at the window; it only takes a minute or two. I ordered a slice of their Pesto Pizza and my friend had a slice of Pepperoni Pizza. The slices were great! Nice and fresh and had good flavor; even the crust wasn’t boring! I just wish they had a few more options, but I did like the size of the slice; enough for me to be full until dinner.
I would definitely come back for another quick meal when in the area. I also want to try their Thai Fries which everyone is raving about as well as their Happy Hour. They have a great bar area inside with good prices!

Compared to the Davis location, this location is much smaller. There’s one back row of booth seating and small bar stool tables, as well as outdoor seating. Not particularly great for groups, but if you get lucky and put some of the tables together, you can make it work! Regular happy hour, M-​F, is from 4 pm to 6 pm. During the weekday, this place makes a great first stop for a quick bite and drink. Then for more variety of beer, head over to UoB across the way. The pizza here is alright — but the HH deal has me sold. I didn’t order the fries the last time I went, but Thai Fries will always have a special place in my heart!

Four stars because this place is OPEN LATE! After a loooong night of drinking what’s better than a HUGE slice of pizza… You’re right, NOTHING! :) Don Vito’s also has a bar too so you can get your beer and pizza fix in one! My favorites include the supreme and pepperoni pizzas! Loaded with cheese and toppings PLUS a nice thick crust! Can’t go wrong coming here but they DO CHECK ID! I
During happy hour you can order beer PLUS a slice of pizza for only $ 5! They even offer $ 1 off cocktails if you’re not into beer. This place is definitely worth a try!
This place is on the smaller side so plan on getting cozy with your neighbors! They also offer outside seating which is great in the summertime!

The best late night/​bar pizza in town (open til 2ish) If you are looking for a thin crust absolutely blow you mind pizza… you’ve been missing out if you haven’t visited Uncle Vitos.
Small, not very many seats, can get really busy during happy hour. but here are the pluses:
Large flat screen TV’s which features any sports game usually on.
Great selection of alcohol, my favorite is the angry orchid cider and Blue moon.
Delicious pizza… I haven’t yet tasted a bad one but My go to hands down all around good slice is the Pesto pizza…
Always our go to place for a drink and a delicious slice of pizza. Best part of it all you ask? $ 5 dollar happy hour Sun-​Wed 10−11pm (Don’t know happy hour for other days of the week) … you get a slice of pizza and a mug of beer… can’t go wrong here!
Been here at least 10 times… A must try of Sacramento’s!
