Good pizza, great location, very good prices. Works quite well if you’re in downtown Sacramento.

This place is amazing. I have always had great customer service here. I was eating here til about closing time, when it looked like after the employees had closed down and cleaned up the entire restaurant, a group of what looked to be volleyball goers came in. They were giving the employee here a bad attitude because the business was already closed, but the group wanted to eat. The volleyball group kept giving the employee an attitude such as «well were bringing you business and there are a lot of us» The employee politely said«sorry lady, we are closed already but we open again tomorrow for lunch» The volleyball herd threw a tantrum and stomped off. Some people just cant hang.

Came here as a team after a volleyball tourney at the Convention Center. You would think having a big group would be welcomed by a business, but one of the employees was upset stating he did not have enough food to feed us, and started throwing things around in a tirade. I spoke up and said, you seem angry that you have customers trying to patron your business, his response(said in an irtitated tone) «yes we have been slammed today». As we walked out he proceeded to blast his heavy metal music(curse words & all). Horrible customer service, so I can’t even rate the food.

First and foremost you get what you pay for. The lunch buffet is reasonable. By no means was I wow’d in any way shape or form, but that’s okay because I wasn’t expecting to be. The upper crust has decent pizza and a decent salad bar. The options in the salad bar varied from Combo, Veggie, Pepperoni, and Hawaiian. Towards the end of my visit there was cheesy garlic bread available as well. The salad bar had all of your standard fixings as well as a pesto pasta salad concoction which was okay. It seemed to be a customer favorite since it was left empty for quite awhile before being refilled(guessing they ran out quick). To my surprise I came in during the lunch rush hour and was able to find a seat easily. The cashiers were quick and polite, and fortunately I was able to eat my lunch and be on my way within 40 minutes.

Came here because location was convenient and good reviews plentiful. Employee at the counter was very nice — the 2 stars are for her. I elected to try the buffet, mainly for selection. After paying, I was handed a tray with a styrofoam plate, bowl & cup. At the buffet there were 4 kinds of pizza that looked pretty dry(they did put one new one out about 5 minutes later.) I decided to start with soup and salad. Opened the soup pot to find about an inch of broth in the bottom, supposed to be vegetable. I asked if they were refilling and was told that it was all they had left, but if I «scrape the bottom» I could«probably» get some veggies. Was told there was plenty of pasta in the other pot. On to the salad bar. Wilted lettuce & spinach. Managed to pick out enough for a small salad. Moving down the buffet, I caught a whiff of something BAD(I think it was the broccoli), so gave up the idea of salad. Got some pasta — mushy and covered in a super sweet red sauce. New pizza out so grabbed a slice. Same weird red sauce as pasta, cardboard crust. I swear I had better pizza at Chuck E Cheese!(The sign by the door says they have the best pizza in town!!) Sorry fellow Unilocalers, you REALLY missed the boat in rating this place. This is my first time to Sacramento in several years but I KNOW there has to be better placed than this.

Food was reasonably priced. The calzone was 5 stars. I had it with bacon, pepperoni, and sausage. The pizza was tasty and the salad was just ok.

The vegetarian pizza is delightful, and their salad bar always fresh and crisp! Pleasant stop for lunch, with nice courtside views.

Waiting for Elf with my girls, needed something quick. Walk in clean and neat buffet rolling, smell of pizza in the air all deadly, but I needed something with no gluten. Just when I thought I would have to Mcguyver something… my boy behind the counter says hey, we can do a lettuce wrap chicken sandwich for you. Whaaat… I think I started a secret menu. Great service, I like this place and it’s easy on the wallet.

Went for the $ 8.50 for the lunch buffet. I mean who can beat that considering its pizza, pasta, salad, & soup?! Mention a pizza you want them to put out and they will! Great service and attentive on the drink refills.

Pizza was okay. Not the best but okay. Chicken wings are horrible! No sauce on them and when I asked if they had sauce for them and they gave me Tabasco sauce. The chicken was mostly fat and not seasoned at all. No salt or pepper or anything. Think they just through some frozen wings into the deep fryer and serve it with a side or ranch… gross.

Let me clarify and explain my 4 star rating as simply as possible: inexpensive. For $ 8, you get access to an all-you-can eat salad, soup, pizza, and pasta lunch. There aren’t a ton of options, and none of the food is amazing, but you really can’t talk shit if you’re only paying $ 8 for lunch Downtown and getting to stuff yourself as much as you want. I actually kind of dig their crust. The employees are nice, they are quick to replenish items and pick up trash, and there is plenty of seating(including a patio). One star off because you have to use disposable everything(plate, bowl, utensils, cup). I realize this probably cuts down on the work for them(no dishes), but it is WAY bad for the environment(everything is Styrofoam, not even paper) and I frankly hate the way Styrofoam feels. That said, I will be back for lunch.

I automatically give this place such a good evaluation because of the friendliness of the employees. On busy days such as the days of a convention or a random event, this place is always worth going to. Now, their soups and pizzas are beyond wonderful, and if one wants to order something that is not part of the buffet, that item will not disappoint by any means. Upper Crust all the way!!!

Pros: salad bar and a variety of flavors of pizza to choose from. Easy to grab a quick bite before heading into a movie. Cons: the quality of ingredients and the pizza aren’t made fresh. They’re frozen. Knowing that, it’s hard for me to justify paying $ 2.50 a slice.

I was impressed with their buffet selection for only eight bucks. They offer salad, pasta and clam chowder as part of their buffet. And they don’t cut the pizza slices up in small slices, either. The portions were huge. Another positive is they’re always making fresh pizza. And there were several varieties, too, from pepperoni to vegetarian and Hawaiian. If you’re in downtown and looking for a cheap buffet with a good selection, Upper Crust is the way to go.

Was decently impressed with their lunch buffet. They being out pizzas pretty efficiently and flavors are good. But, their sandwiches were a little small for my liking. Staff were very nice and accommodating. My group did a pizza request for the buffet and they were happy to grant it. It was their pesto chicken pizza, which was very tasty. I’m not a huge pizza fan, but I would come back for the pizza. Everything tasted fresh.
