Vergara Construction

Started out as what I thought would be a good experience. Luis seemed to know his stuff and I had some pretty exact dimensions that I needed my shop pad to be in order to put a building on it.
However that went down hill fast when they decided to pour the cement even though it was going to be freezing temps that night. I brought this up with Luis before pouring and he said it would be fine. Lo and behold the top layer of the cement froze and never set correctly.
They initially tried to use some kind of «patch» he said on it, and scraped off the top layer and put this patch stuff on it. It seemed ok at first, but after a couple weeks the patch stuff started breaking up and the top layer would just flake off. You could tap on it and it sounded hollow. Then it started to just turn to dust. Now I have cement dust everywhere. It is very fine and gets all over everything in my shop and I’m sure it’s great to breath too.
Repeated phone calls and many missed appointments later, I’ve pretty much given up hope on Vergara construction standing behind their work and making it right. I would suggest looking elsewhere for any cement work you need done.
Im giving them 2 stars since they did get the dimensions correct. The control joints didn’t work correctly though either as I have quite a few large cracks in the pad as well.

Vergara Construction did an excellent job with filing in some concrete on the side yard. Communication was fantastic and the owner is very honest. Would certainly do business again.

We were very pleased with the entire process of having our driveway and walkway redone by Vergara Construction aka Vergara Concrete (now at 4105 — 23^rd St., Sacramento, CA 95 822) using state-​of-​the-​art equipment for a fair and reasonable price.
We were able to communicate on a daily basis very well with Luis Vergara about every single little detail on our project. He always explained things as carefully and thoroughly as he could and listened very well to all our concerns and input. He never once made us feel like our questions and concerns were unnecessary. He did all the work that we asked him to do in a timely manner and did not leave a big mess at the end. All of his crew interacted with us well and worked hard on our project which looks great.
Our old driveway had about 12 – 14 very big cracks (1″ to 1 ½″ high) caused by root damage and was an extreme trip hazard. The old driveway only had 2 crack control joints and had no rebar or wire mesh in the foundation. Our new driveway has 8 crack control joints, wire mesh reinforcement, two 12″ concrete trench root barriers, and we added a beautiful brick accent for aesthetics which we feel was well worth the extra dollars.
We highly recommend Luis Vergara and give him 5 stars out of 5. Wish we could give him 20 stars because excellent, affordable, licensed, bonded, and insured contractors are hard to find!
