Excellent photography gallery! We visited on 2nd Saturday, this was one of the stops in between mySTUDIO and Little Relics. Currently on display is a wonderful exhibit by Ann Mitchell called«Meditative Spaces Found While Traversing The Razor’s Edge». I’m not sure I found deep meaning in each and every piece but for me, art is about feeling something when you look at it, and that happened with many of Ann’s prints. This particular exhibit is on display through April 4th. Viewing the gallery is free, but a donation is recommended and accepted. While everything in Ann’s exhibit was out of my price range, I did enjoy the smaller displays located in the corners of the gallery. They offered less expensive prints covering a large variety of subjects. Really affordable and would make an excellent gift or display piece in any home. I can see why they don’t have music, but some sort of audio track would have been welcome in the gallery. If you weren’t aware that your shoes made sounds, a stroll in the gallery will make you feel like you’re wearing Wellies in a rain storm.

I am brand new in walking through this gallery. Very nicely organized and impressive works too. The person at the front desk was extremely friendly. He greeted me with such sunshine… it was blinding me in a good way. I signed right in and walked on through to look at the impressive photography work. The walls are are all white and at the time coming in, I was lucky to see photography by J Hennessey. It was beautiful. Also in another room, there were also works by students of the gallery. Pretty talented. I also went to their web site there was also very informative. Signed up on one of their field trips. If you love photography and want to just see works of inspiration, this is a great place to go to. Im so glad there is a place where photographers can network and exchange ideas.

Thank you for being a beacon for local photographers to talk, learn, teach, and grow. You can catch informative guest speakers here from time to time. Sometimes I’ll go in and just talk to Jim for a couple hours. Again thank you, sacramento needs you Cheers

A gallery devoted to photography and run by members is a great idea! When we visited this gallery we saw the annual member show. The majority of the pieces were really wonderful photos. Kevin and I came here to see a presentation on a possible photo trip to Southeast Asia. The tour/workshop sounded wonderful, it is reasonably priced, but I cannot swing it. Darn, I now have to add this part of the world to my I wish-I-could-go list. This list seems to growing; I better get a job so I can whittle it down. What I can swing is a membership to this gallery. They offer print reviews and reasonable 2 day workshops. An old friend, who is a great photographer, moved to the Sacramento area and he is a member. I will be too; my check is in the mail.

I just came back from their annual auction. It’s amazing. One can collect some very good collectable art at rock bottom prices. Definitely going back next year.

Beautiful gallery. Love photography, so this was right up my alley(afterall, I married a photographer). Very friendly docents. Membership was reasonable and easy. Would love to come back here and see my husband’s prints up on the wall.

I recently went to the 1212 show at the viewpoint. It was a juried show where any one could submit photos and the work that was chosen was some of the best i have seen in a while. i loved how there was a peoples choice where the public got to choose their favorite. i also liked the House work show that Kathryn Mayo and Chris Fraser had over the summer. The viewpoint is always open for second Saturdays.
