I stop by this winery on my way to Montauk for a getaway with my girlfriend. I felt really welcome by Pam and Allison, they made my girlfriend feel at ease, due to it was her first time in a winery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing time. P. s. get the summer in a bottle rose! We bought 2 for on premise and 1 to take home. This wine is amazing!!!

For real, this is a 5-star spot. The view walking in and then from the deck is incredibly relaxing and beautiful. Everyone from the tasting room manager to my(super cute) waitress were very friendly and helpful. My wine and cheese, a Landius Pinot Noir ’13 paired with sheep’s milk cheese and jam, was excellent. If your all, ‘Drew, it sounds like you enjoyed this spot! Why the –2 stars?’ let me explain(although it’s in every other review)… There is a policy of bumping up prices while drinking at the vineyard. The bottle of wine I wanted to purchase was $ 45 in the store(on premises), but $ 60 to drink at the vineyard, a 33% increase. Add on the tip you give to your server, and you’re now looking at a $ 72 bottle. Those cute little bottles of dry rosé cider? $ 8, as opposed to the $ 4 in the store. I’m sure there’s an explanation and good reason for this(and probably why they opened the more casual vineyard stand just down the block), but it’s a bit off-putting. While I love the personal touch of table service, since you’re already paying for that, in terms of a tip, a jacked up bottle price seems greedy. Then again, there aren’t as many wineries on the south fork and they cater to a bourgeois crowd, so they can(and have) get away with this, but it needs to be mentioned and, for me, is a total downer. Will I be back? Probably, but I’ll be checking out other wineries in the area and the vineyard stand first.

What a beautiful vineyard! Came here on Memorial Day weekend and it was busy but not too busy, could be because we arrived around 5pm. The hostess first told us a 20 minute wait for a table outside but then A girl came up to update her & let her know tables were available. I hear her let the hostess know a couch is a available then another table«40». She directs her to seat us 2 girls at «40». When we walk out to the patio the girl then says if you would like the couch that is available as well. That right there made our whole experience, those seats were just perfect. The view, the vibe, the wine, the food, all came together. Not sure why the hostess wanted to seat us at a table for 4 but I’m so glad we were offered that couch! The service was a bit slow but our waitress was so sweet that it was forgivable. We did the spring mix tasting with 2 white’s and 2 rose’s. The first was a dry riesling of virgin grape and it was perfect. Took a bottle to go, priced high but fair for these nice vineyards. We got the charcuterie plate which was magnificent and the hummus platter. Not a fan of the hummus but could be personal taste preference not quality. Everything was presented so beautifully which in my book has some influence on taste. Again, service was a bit slow so we found ourselves waiting for the next tasting & trying to savor the bites. It was a busy weekend but maybe they could have staffed up a bit. There is an adorable kitty that wanders, and a gazebo out past the vineyard. Makes for a beautiful view as well as a nice walk over for a different view. I can absolutely see myself coming back!

Loved this place! 90% of our time at wölffer was great. Our wine tour woman Karen was fantastic!!! She was so kind and our party was very chatty but she understood it was a big group and knew how to handle it well. I wish I could give Karen a million stars because she truly deserved it. The part I wasn’t thrilled about was while Karen was in the middle of describing a wine to us. The hostess came up and interrupted her to tell her the table next to us was he daughter of a person who was somehow affiliated with the vineyard and to make sure to treat them well. So inappropriate at another guests table in front of them!!! She could’ve easily waited until Karen was done as the group of ladies was just seated moments before. Other Than that the winery was great and the wines themselves were delicious.

Rude staff, we didn’t even go in after they were incredibly rude and discriminating about my service animal. Don’t go here unless you want to support businesses that discriminate against people with disabilities. Additionally, the hostess was just nasty about it and suggested that my disability wasn’t important. No compassion whatsoever. I hope she never has a condition that disables her and has to experience what she put me through.

While on vacation in the Hamptons, I biked from Sag Harbor to visit this vineyard. I went in with admittedly low expectations, as I am from California and have gotten spoiled visiting the vineyards on the west coast. I am happy to report that the wine at Wolffer did not taste like the urine of Satan after a hefty portion of asparagus. In fact, the wine was good… very good. Wolffer has been collecting accolades for its wine in the last couple of years, and it shows! I ended up ordering the wine flight that included the wine served at a White House event. The only negative was that the service was painfully slow, like 20 minutes between each glass of wine. I couldn’t understand why service sucked so badly since the place was nearly empty in the off-season.

I have never felt so unwelcome. Myself and 11 of my friends were in Montauk for the weekend for a bachelorette celebration and we came to Wolffer Vineyard to sit on the patio and drink some wine. The immediate response of the hostess and her look of absolute disgust to our group was beyond offensive. After telling the hostess that we had 12 in our part she responded dripping with sarcasm«JUST twelve??». She told us that they don’t allow bachelorette parties at the winery or any kind of «wedding accoutrements». Mind you, we are all in our 30’s and we had no «wedding accoutrements» other than the bride holding a special wine glass. We did not show up as an inebriated, loud group of women. After the hostess left to see if «she could find anything,» she came back and said she could not seat us despite the fact that the indoor and outdoor patio had several tables completely open. Whether or not those were reserved is another thing, it was the complete lack of respect and absolute unfounded rudeness. We let her know that we came to spend money and we did not deserve to be treated that way, and left. We then went to a vineyard down the road where we were warmly welcomed, and went on to stay for lunch and bought multiple bottles of wine. While we were there, we noticed another bachelorette party walking down the road to where we were. Come to find out, they were also rudely treated at Wolffer Estate Vineyards and told«that they probably don’t want to be here». Needless to say, over 25 women were completely offended and would not recommend Wolffer Estate Vineyard based on their treatment. Many of us have condos in Montauk and go regularly during the summer, and we will not be going to support Wolffer Estate based on our experience. I hope the treatment we received is not a true representation of the vineyard itself.

The best experience out of all of the Wineries we visited New York. The Wine associate was super friendly and genuinely happy to see us. We showed up in middle of harvest season happy to see grapes still on the vine. The Associate explained what all the grapes were and even let us taste a few. After tasting the wines and chatting away he invited us to a spot to share a glass of sparking. That was all I needed to make that day great a nice person and glass of sparking wine. I highly recommend this winery for friendly serviced and a decent white wines.

The one star is for the delicious buttery Perle Chardonnay — everything else deserves zero stars. This is a beautiful estate but the clueless service will contribute to the downfall of this place. I speak for the one person who served us(a woman), who could not possibly be more unprofessional unless she sat on our table and drank out of our bottle. First off: tastings end at 3 pm on Fridays, something that was not specifically mentioned on their pages. Second, we ordered a $ 50 bottle of wine(that costs $ 23 at liquor stores) to have a girl not bring fresh glasses until I requested(despite me having been drinking rose) and then to her using her body and table to uncork the wine. To follow up, she opens the wine and straight up double sniffs our cork in our face and didn’t even offer us a taste prior to filling up our wine glasses like a red solo cup. She then proceeds to leave the Chardonnay sweating off its crispness on the table without an ice bucket until we had to also specifically request it. I literally left knowing less about Wolffer Estate than I already knew. Not one person took the time to describe anything about the wine, grapes and its characteristics. Save your money, time and good mood and go elsewhere.

My husband & I came here during our first venture to Montauk to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. This is the first time I’d been to any winery in LI& being a native New Yorker, that’s actually kind of embarrassing! Anyway, it was ~1:45pm this past Friday, so there were only us & a group of 4, so service was very attentive! Our server actually introduced herself by saying she would be «taking care of [us] today» & observed how long it took us to finish our first glass of the Spring Tasting before timing out the other 3 wines. She took the time to explain to us what grapes were used, the flavor profile, & even the popularity of the wine! The portions are also quite generous — about ¼ of a glass! She also explained out cheese plate, which was the Cow, Sheep, & Goat: Saint André triple crème, Drunken Goat w/red wine rind, & Manchego. I’ve had all these before, mostly from Murray’s Cheese, & they are spectacular, especially with the wines they paired. Really loved their Summer in a Bottle & Riesling! Their table rosé was good & their Merlot was actually NOT bitter or metallic like the majority of other Merlots I’ve had! Also, they have a chocolate bar w/toffee bits blended w/their merlot! It’s really addictive! Other than the food, we had a front row seat to the spectacular vineyard view! I highly recommend coming here with a wine lover just before the summer season starts since it’s quieter & you’ll get really attentive service! I’m speaking from an experience at the end of April. Can’t imagine what this & other vineyards are like during peak season!

This is my favorite vineyard in the Hamptons. It’s the only one that feels like you could be in Napa. Service has always been great, and the wines are solid. Hard to get to without a car, but I think easiest is to take the train to Bridgehampton and then an über or cab from there.

Thursday nights with the sunset band — perfection! Great wines and with good company you can’t beat a night at the Wolffer wine stand. The main Wolffer estate house is also a great experience — definitely different than the laid back atmosphere of the wine stand but still relaxing and fun. And the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly — even when it gets packed!

One of the three vineyards on the South Fork, I must say this place was absolutely gorgeous inside! There are a deceiving number of tables since this place was packed out by the time we had left. I can’t even imagine how it would be when the weather is warmer, but I bet it would be even better. We were able to snag the biggest table they had inside which was situated nicely in a corner and sort of under the stairs. We were served by one of the women who worked there, all very nice and knowledgeable about the wine they were serving and the small plates on the menu. Cheapest bottle went for $ 38 while the most expensive… not going to get into that. The small plates offered were cheese & meat platters, olive & bread plate, hummus plates, etc. started at $ 20 and went from there. The prices were a little more than what I’m used to paying, but I suppose you are paying for the table service seeing as a that same $ 38 bottle to-go was $ 19. Regardless of the money spent, it was a lovely vineyard with good wine and I will make my way back to this one when it’s warmer to enjoy their outdoors.

I’ve snubbed New York wines for a really long time, I’ve had terrible experiences with local grapes and I’d started to lose hope. I was convinced NY grapes would never compete with the west coast or Europe. Wolffer’s completely changed my mind. I enjoyed every wine I tasted, I especially enjoyed their sparkling Rose and Riesling. The estate itself is gorgeous and scenic with a comfy outdoor seating area that faces the vineyard. I cannot stop thinking about the warm, buttery baguettes they pair with a delicious olive oil vinaigrette. They serve top notch cheese and crackers to go with their yummy wine. I’ve tried quite a few vineyards in LI, I wish I would have skipped them all and gone straight to Wolffer’s. Make sure to check out their website for special events, during the holidays they have live music at night.

It was raining day on last Friday. And we decided to give a try to this place. I’m living in California, and there we have amazing wineries in Temecula. After 3 magical hours in the rain, 4 glass of wine& great cheese. I definitely recommend you to try this place! It was fantastic Friday! Cheers ;)

My girlfriends and I planned to go wine tasting at the Wolffer Estate and hopped on a train out to the Hamptons on a Saturday in September. We didn’t even think to call to make sure it was open to the public. which it wasn’t. because it’s wedding season. Luckily we knew about the stand and made our Über to take us there instead. While there wasn’t an actual tasting or any live music, the stand is still a lovely little spot. We sat a table out back and shared a few bottles of wine. It was gorgeous and sunny we had some good photoshoots by the grapevines, ha! We split a cheese plate for the table. I thought the price would have been more than it was — I was prepared to spend around $ 90 and only ended up paying around $ 45. We all left with souvenirs of Wolffer wine and candles :)
