This is the best restaurant in the Hamptons! Come hungry and enjoy delicious Greek specialties and wonderful steaks on par with the Palm(actually better). Wonderful staff and owner.

Food is four and a half stars, but they get the extra star for the just-plain-EXCELLENT service George and his staff provided us(we were a group of 6). *(NOTE– I’m not sure what was going on back in 2012 – 2013 as I see a bunch of 1-star reviews from back then, but I came here based on the more current reviews from the last two years, which were more in the 4 – 5 star range, which I feel is definitely more accurate for how the restaurant presents itself today…) This restaurant has a Hamptons charm of being out of a huge house with lots of huge windows and nice seating areas as well as a nice bar area(if that’s your desire). APPETIZERS– we had spinach pie(outstanding), and Greek dips mix(delicious), but they were unfortunately out of the octopus :( SALADS– bright and fresh with a huge portion of delicious feta cheese on top… :) ENTREES– in our group we had the gyro(overstuffed with delicious meat!), the 16oz steak(cooked perfectly), the fish(I forget what kind but it was light and tasty), and the moussaka(this is where it lost a half star as in this dish the eggplant was tasty but definitely needs a lot more meat… two of my party ordered it and both agreed that it needed more meat to balance the dish). DESSERTS– we wanted the rice pudding(nobody makes rice pudding more delicious than the Greeks, so we were really looking forward to this and another friend had recommended it to us), but they unfortunately we’re out of it. George apologized for not having it and promised to make it for us if we called in advance to request it, and to further make up for it he brought out a massive sampling of their other outstanding desserts: cheesecake(brought in from Juniors!), homemade backlava(delicious as expected), chocolate gelato with insanely good homemade fudge topping(!), red velvet cake(didn’t last on the table for more than a minute). DRINKS– generous portions of good wines at very fair prices(rare for out East!) Service was outstanding as George himself attended to our every want an need with a smile and made us feel like family… we will definitely give them more of our business because they EARNEDIT!!!

This is possibly one of the last original Hamptons resturaunts. It is not for the jersey shore or the poconos crowd. It is way too chic for that crowd. Thus the sign(but never mind they want ever get it). Best steak in the Hamptons period. On given night, you see Calvin Klein, jimmy Fallon playing piano and many others. Why do they go there? Great food, good service and civilized like minded patrons whom are not loud, rude and self entitled. The rest of them can be the wannabes they are. We love singing with the piano.

The food is amazing. Casual dining with high quality food. You will walk out licking your lips for hours. We shared a combination of appetizers including the saganaki which is delicious. Then we had spanakopita which was crusty and lots of spinach, followed by the octopus. All were great. The lamb hops were soft and tender. Probably the best I’ve had in a while. Served with a side of rice. The filet mignon was thick and cooked to perfection with a side of potatoes. The Mousaka was tasty as well as the roast chicken. Service was exceptional The only drawbacks were we ate way too much pita and hummus. Lol. The noise level would be my only complaint. For a Saturday night it was packed and you can hear yourself speak if you are sitting in the side room where the kitchen entry is located. I’d definitely eat here again just not at the table were we sat.

Came out here as a performing comedian not knowing what to expect. I can preface this by saying comedians in general are not treated very well on the road, often getting the scraps on the menu, and sometimes not even drinks. Old Stove Pub was one of the very best experiences I have ever had. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the entire staff and Manager and told I could order whatever I want. I had the Sirloin steak rare, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had and that includes numerous visits to Argentina. Simply massive, cooked to perfection. I also had the Kale, simple but excellent. The show was great, the crowd really supportive, and the people beyond friendly. I didn’t feel one bit of pretentiousness from anyone and felt like I was part of the family. No, it’s not inexpensive(although my food was complimentary) but if I had to pay I wouldn’t be the least bit deterred. I highly recommend you give this place a chance and a visit and disregard any negative reviews. I hope to be back one day soon!

Absolutely love this restaurant. The steaks are famous, George and his staff are a delight – no wonder it’s a hot spot among celebs.

Took my Mom to Old Stone Pub for her birthday dinner tonight. Not really impressed with the food. My wife and I had never been there and Mom was last there about 30 years ago. If the restaurant had been in NYC the bill would have been ½ what it was and would have been a good deal for acceptable Greek food but the Hamptons surcharge for what we ate made us all agree there was no reason to go back.

Very Bad experience – will not go back. Went here on Sat. Night Memorial Day weekend. It was very busy. It was our first time here even though we live very close by in the summer. I have never wanted to try it because of so many bad reviews, but we decided to be adventurous. Well, I should have trusted my instincts. The food, service and attitude of management all were extremely disappointing. The first indication was the pita triangles(tasted store-bought) that came with hummus and another tasteless dip served in tiny plastic cups that you get in a Chinese takeout bag! Not a good sign. The appetizers were mediocre, which could have been forgiven if we hadn’t waited for an hour for them to be served. Our main courses came out almost 2 hours after we arrived! To add make matters worse, the Mousakka that I ordered was inedible– swimming in so much oil and flavorless. In a Greek restaurant! I don’t know why our food was so delayed. The table next to us sat down about half hour after we did, and received their expensive steaks way before our meal arrived. We got the impression that unless you order the big ticket steaks, you are not worthy of getting your meal on time. Our waitress was extremely apologetic and stressed out at the situation. The manager had a really bad attitude. He was very curt – didn’t apologize about the long wait or the disgusting Mousakka. He just said I could order something else, which at that point I definitely did not want. He knew we were really dissatisfied, so he then told the waitress to void the whole check, which was ridiculous since my family had eaten their meals and found them to be OK. We insisted for our waitress to just take off my main course, because we would have felt bad if she didn’t get a tip. Lest you think this was an unusual incident, just in the small room that we were in, we observed several tables complaining about the food and service. One table of six actually got up and walked out after not getting any service for so long! At one point, I watched as one couple waited for quite a while for the manager to come over because of some problem with their steak. I don’t what the problem was, but the manager picked up the dish, and walked across the room and delivered it to another table like it had just come from the kitchen! Shocking! Can’t believe this restaurant does any business. We will never go back and waste our time and money.

Amazing spot for some food and drinks… the drinks were made to perfection and they had a good bar selection. Will be back.

The food was not good at all and for the quality you get it’s way over priced. It’s a shame they can’t do better as the location is great.

Horrible Service & Overpriced: Group of four and first diners of this past Saturday night. Never received the complimentary bread. Salads were good. Appetizers were okay. Entrees of four steaks at $ 37 per came out late and room temperature at best which means our meals were sitting out waiting to be delivered. Coffee came out ice cold– coffee maker problem; it happens. Casually advised our waiter that we never received bread he basically shrugged it off. Could have not charged for the coffees($ 5 per cup) and/or provided a small basket of bread to take home BUT nothing. Last time for this restaurant. There are too many fine restaurants out here and especially those which are still open for the winter that cater to their guests.

Not sure why this place has some bad reviews. Old Stove Pub was fantastic! Came here for a dinner after a wedding with the entire party — close to 40 people! Our service was so quick and the food was out of control. I had the steak — it was mouth watering! DELICIOUS! The bartender was great– he knew what type of wine I was drinking and made his way around the room making sure our glasses were always flowing. The space was a little cramped but we all made the best of the situation. This was the perfect place for an event. They handled the large group with such ease, really shows how a business should be run. Way to go, OSP!

These folks giving 4⁄5 star reviews are insane. This place is infamous locally for how bad it is. There’s no saving grace; the ambiance, service, food, are awful. This is a restaurant for the bridge and tunnel crowd(read: rats). The food: the three of us had burgers, two medium rare one well done. All three were burned and the bun was disgustingly soggy. I had a gin and tonic that was mostly tonic and all gross(and expensive). The service: the bad food was exacerbated by the slow service. Our waiter also forgot our drink order twice. The ambiance: we were seated near the horse shoe courts indoors. Kinda loud but by comparison to the other aspects of the meal this was the least awful. In short, don’t go here.

My wife and I ate there recently. Like a couple other reviewers, I can’t understand how anyone could give this a one star review. We had a great dinner and the service was very good. There were a LOT of other diners in the place and it looked like everyone enjoyed their meals. I saw empty plates and didn’t see full plates heading back to the kitchen. Even at 9:30 the place was still full. I’ve given a few one star ratings over the past several years and the Old Stove Pub is definitely a place I would recommend.

Opa!!! When you are here you are family! George and the entire staff made my husband and I feel so special and just like family at our wedding this weekend. It was the perfect space with great staff, delicious food, nonstop service and a custom cake. They customized everything we wanted– even down to the linens. The bartender knew what all of our guests were drinking and refilled their glasses before they asked. Our guests are still raving! Everyone loved the food, as expected. Aside from our party the entire restaurant was packed and everyone was so friendly. It was a great environment. We even got to break plates! Their pitas are the best and are hot and fresh. Definitely get the three dips– you can’t go wrong! All of their dishes were crowd pleasers and everyone’s steaks were cooked as ordered. I highly recommend coming here for a night out or for a party. We will be back for our one year anniversary :)

I’m not so sure I’ve ever been to a better«1-star» restaurant on Unilocal. After seeing all of the 1 star reviews on the page, and seeing a lot of good reviews get filtered, I’m starting to think something is up. That being said, they could use a little work to polish the place up, but it’s certainly not deserving of one star. The menu is basic and doesn’t have a lot of options. That’s not always a bad thing if you’re just sticking to what you do best, but in this case it did kind of bring entrée choices down to 3 – 4 kinds of steak, 1 kind of fish, and I believe 1 kind of chicken. Seeing some variety would have been nice, but didn’t really affect us since our table was sharing everything. In fact, if you come here, I recommend you do that. Since the entrees don’t really come with sides, it works out much better. Let me say that we enjoyed all of the greek specialties, especially the appetizer with the three dips and pita, as well as the spanakopita(delicious puff pastry), the pastitsio and moussaka(very delicious but would have liked more pasta/eggplant and less bechamel) and the loukoumades(holy crap these are delicious, like zeppoles but with honey instead of powdered sugar). My only gripe would be the shrimp appetizer which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly, but had 3 medium sized shrimp for $ 16. The steak was really incredible, but it should be for $ 45 on its own. It came out a little undercooked the first time around, but we sent it back for a little extra fire. I know dry-aged beef is expensive, but this price range really puts you on par with the major NYC steakhouses and if you’re charging that, the steak has to be cooked right 100% of the time. It wouldn’t hurt to toss a small side or two on here. A little dollop of mashed potatoes won’t cost much and goes a long way into making the dish feel like a good value. Our whole table liked the fish as well. The drinks were made well. Wines by the glass were pretty normal prices, but bottles were expensive, especially for a limited wine list. I’m not sure if I saw any under $ 50, and if there were, it was 1 – 2 bottles of whites. The service was really great. The manager George seems like a good guy who cares about his restaurant, from the history of the food and keeping true to Greek traditions, to making sure people enjoy their meal. Wow this review is LONG, but I felt it important to give a little color on the place given its pretty unanimous 1-star reviews among the Unilocal rabble. On a side note, we are going to be doing a party here using a customized prix-fix menu. Will update review accordingly! It looks reasonably priced and George has been VERY helpful so far in setting things up and customizing it to our needs.

If you enjoy sea bass that smells like a soiled diaper, served, eventually, by a shiftless and incompetent waiter, then this is your joint. If not, then don’t ever eat here.
