TLB is a local favorite! The food is unique and delicious! We never leave disappointed. I’m not sure what people are expecting by any negative comments. The fresh smoked cooking aroma and atmosphere welcome you to the small town feel of farmed cooked freshness. It is a little expensive for counter service dining but just have some fun and enjoy the unique experience!

Food was average and very overpriced for the quality. We were so excited to go here, big disappointment!

Somewhere between the East Hampton and Bridgehampton lies a roadside spot with some badass Texas Style smoked pulled pork, bbq’d hot sauce and fresh banana pudding. The place can be easily spotted when driving down Montauk Highway because you can smell the bbq smoke from far away…(be sure to leave the windows down though.) As the scent gets stronger, be on the lookout for what seems like an old country barn with plenty of parking space in the back. The interior is cool and spacious with a cozy touch. They have a good selection of smoked meats, southern sides and uncommon desserts on the menu board, but you will not go crazy about the price… then again, it’s the Hampton and everything is overpriced regardless of where you go. So, enjoy a good hearty meal at Townline. (Note to chef: pork ribs were dry and could use more bbq/spice rub.) (Note to self: try whoopie pie next time!)

Disappointing food. The brisket was fatty and the ribs were tough. I’m surprised because they have a great location and a genuine smoker. In addition the portions were small

For Long Island this is pretty good BBQ I like the building as well very casual with a cabin Like feel. All the servers are polite and friendly and the back room Bar area has a bit of a pulse during football games. The pulled pork and chicken wings are A+ and the seasonal veggies are usually great since the array of farmers within a few yards supply the produce

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. First of all I didn’t know there was no waiter service and I asked if they had a meal and the clerk said yes You can get a meat and two sides so I order short ribs and fried mac and cheese and Cole slaw and my husband ordered ribs and cole slaw and corn bread and he gets the combo and I get a la carte. My greasy short ribs thrown on a piece of white bread(I guess to sop up the grease) was $ 16 and then the Cole slaw side was $ 4 and the fried mac and cheese was $ 5 so this mess of a meal was $ 25 and the Cole slaw was old and inedible, the Mac and cheese was a pile of hardened grease. We threw the meal out. My husband said his ribs were ok. He didn’t eat his Cole slaw either and the corn bread was hard. On the bright side they refunded our money when we complained and apologized but I still would never go back.

Just OK. Really small portions(never have seen that before at a BBQ), high prices, lacklustre food, and an indifferent staff make this a mediocre place to dine. I am told there’s a better choice east of here.

The reviews posted are generally correct. Place is cuter then it tastes. Location is great and parking is easy but menu is limited and most menu items are over sauced and not quite to my taste. Its 5 minutes from my house, but we have been once and not been back.

The only flavorful part of my pulled pork sandwich was the pickles and cole slaw on top. The bbq by itself isn’t very good. I also ordered Hush Puppies and the best part about them was the chipotle mayo that they were dipped in. The other 4 people that ai went with didn’t enjoy their BBQ either. We all agreed the best parts were the pickles and fried onions, but you don’t go back to a BBQ joint for those reasons. It also cost $ 19 for the pulled pork sandwich, hush puppies and a root beer. If you’re charging those prices(out in the Hamptons it’s expected) the meal better deliver.

Very spacious indoor & outdoor seating. Full bar with tv. Beef ribs, brisket & banana pudding were decent. Chicken was dry. Sides were ok. Collard greens was watery. Overall the meats were very salty.

Yikes! Working nearby, finally got a chance to eat here. Chicken — quite good Baby backs — pricy, meh. St. Louis — better Collards — watery/bland Fried mac & cheese — «unique» Fries — fine Happy hour Sangria — tasty Surprised by the leisure layout, expecting a restaurant with service. Oh, well.

Not brilliant, not bad either. A little on the dry side, not that complex or interesting, but meh barbecue is still a whole lot better than no barbecue. More expensive than it should be, not brutal considering the location.

I first spotted this joint with a full parking lot while I was on my way to Montauk and had the opportunity to grab a bite to eat when I was on my way back to the city. I got the pulled chicken sandwich and ate it on the road. The chicken was quite good. It was pulled into bite sized strips and lightly covered in BBQ sauce. There was an underlying smokey flavor that really made the dish. I lived in the south for sometime and this could definitely compete with the food down there. The décor was appealing and the staff was kind. I spoke with someone from New Zealand who helped me with my order and she kept it interesting while I waited for my food. The bathrooms are clean and there was ample parking. It can be hard to get back on the main road when there is a lot of traffic.

We ordered the pulled meat sampler, dirty hotdog and TL Burger, collard greens, TL Hush puppies. Plenty of food for 4 adults and 2 kids. The baked beans were amazing. One small thing is that it can be a bit spicy for kids so be aware. Great BBQ joint nonetheless.

Had a «moist»(as opp to lean) brisket and short-ribs. Ribs were heavenly. Brisket was great if a bit too fatty(will get the mixed next time). Corn bread was great with butter(another review suggests its too dry). Spicy pickles were sublime. You can sit on the deck in the back which overlooks a field and you can chill out.

Townline is AMAZING !!! that is all i have to say: everything was perfect ! The food was insane– so incredibly delicious and melted in my mouth !!! We were 2 couples so tried a few different dishes. Set up like a BBQ experience, like you’re in Texas: casual with a flare, nice architecture, Great vibe, lighting, cool, loved the fireplace and Bar room: cozy. Went Easter Weekend and want to go back and maybe spend the day trying everything on the menu ! Perfection all the way around. (Obviously not diet food, had to workout extra hard the next day)!

*Chopped briskey was ok *“pulled” chicken didn’t resemble anything pulled… more like sliced chicken breast *pork ribs were good(said hubby) *fried mac n cheese was«interesting» *bbq beans and fries were cold and lacking in flavor Overall I wasn’t super impressed… the bbq sauces were ok but honestly it’s a far cry from a decent bbq place.

Great ambiance when you walk in. Cool, trendy and back yard bbq feel Pricy for the portions but the food was good. House made bbq sauces were stellar. They were open in a snow storm in our way home from Montauk so that was a plus. We got there right as they opened. Could see this place super busy at night, we would come back.

We couldn’t have been happier with our first visit(in which we ordered everything on the restaurant menu) so we came back the very next day(and ordered everything on the happy-hour bar menu). Standouts were definitely the beef short rib, the veggie burger, the chicken wings, and the beer(best prices in the area, great local selection). It’s nice having healthy side choices such as beets and squash, which we enjoyed, but it was even nicer to have indulgent side dishes such as fried onions and buffalo fries, which we loved. The only things I didn’t really care for were the hush puppies and potato salad, both of which are favorites of mine, so my standards may be too high.

Towline provided us with exactly what we needed — a quick, filling meal on our way to the Pollock/Krasner house. We had a small burger, ¼ pound of pulled pork and a side of potato salad. My burger was tasty because of the sauce and peppers, though the meat was dry and patty was even tinier than the small brioche bun. My husband enjoyed his pork though, and we both liked the potato salad. It was just enough food for lunch, though we were surprised at how little we got for our money — two very small dishes with one shared side was about $ 17. If I found myself in the Hamptons again, though, I would be back.
