the photo is not sag harbor. it is east hampton. ugh. southampton is the nicest, in my opinion. food is good, fresh, costly. coffee is translucent.

Ordered scrambled eggs with aged cheddar and a croissant on the side for breakfast. Decent food, a bit expensive for what it was, although we were given a huge portion of eggs. Very sweet fresh squeezed orange juice. The strawberries had seen better days, however, and the cantaloupe was underripe. Lunch menu did look interesting. The place can get crowded and finding a table may be a challenge. Even though you seat yourself, they brought our food to our table. Good place to grab a quick bite.

Small seating area but people are pretty respectful of eating and giving up seats for others. We all really enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches and wraps. I loved my lox and tomato on an everything falafel. The lox was fresh & generous.

We stopped here on our way to Montauk, thinking it would be a cute place to get brunch. My boyfriend and I immediately got a bad vibe from the staff and seating arrangement(limited uncomfortable seating very close to the cashiers and display case). We were so hungry, however, that we decided to stay. He got a waffle with fruit, and I got a tuna wrap. My boyfriend said his waffle was mediocre. My tuna wrap was the most tasteless wrap I have ever tried. I thought, «How is is possible to mess up tuna?» I took about 2 – 3 bites out of the wrap, and I brought it back to the manager to trade for something else. Instead of being sympathetic, the manager actually chose to argue about the fact that I didn’t like it. He said, «Have you ever been here before? This is known as one of the best places around!» He questioned my taste for not liking the sandwich, as if I had done something wrong for not enjoying it. Eventually, he asked if I wanted anything else. Nothing really looked good, and I had sort of lost my appetite. I tried the iced tea, but that didn’t taste good either. He refused to refund my money for the sandwich, until after much persistence on my part(after which he only refunded half). Before this, he also had to tell me he wasn’t in business to lose money. I told him I was also a business owner, and I stand by my work, and would compensate anyone who was not happy with my service. He continued to question my taste and integrity, then sarcastically told me to have a nice day.

The coffee good, the pastries okay, clueless service that grinds slowly. Poorly trained staff made every order an ordeal when i was there.

I don’t write reviews very often but this place was so bad I have to write something. First off, 20 bucks for an egg sandwich is just ridiculous, Hamptons or not. Even worse is ordering 3 of them to go only to find that all 3 are wrong and that items are missing from the order. The sausages that actually were in the sandwich were so undercooked and cold they might as well have been from the frozen section of the supermarket. Iced coffee is watered down dunkib donuts quality at best. My advice? Stay away from this overrated turd of a café.

Great food — sandwich selection, quality, and atmosphere are all great. Prices are a tiny bit steep for what you get, but this is long island after all…

I’m obsessed with this place. Great friendly service(: love the owner! The BEST double chocolate cup cake I’ve ever had! It makes me feel like I’m at home here. Such amazing food! Wish I lived closer so I could come here everyday(:

We loved it here. The omelettes are amazing. I got the Friday veggie omelette every day with aged cheddar. Unlike most breakfast places, the omelette comes out piping hot, which I love. Service is really friendly. We had fun with the staff and really enjoyed food.

More like 3⁄12 stars. Enjoyed morning coffee here on my recent visit to Sag Harbor, fresh and delicious. However, my companion’s blueberry crumb cake was stale. No gluten free options for bread or pastries, which was somewhat surprising. Sandwiches overpriced; I preferred lunch at the no-frills but delicious Cove Delicatessen down the road. I’d stick to coffee here.

This place is completely disorganized, chaotic, and overall crappy. The coffee is nasty, the attitude of the employees is nasty and some of the patrons who stand on top of you while you pour your own coffee are nasty. I had a large breakfast order, including 9 cups of coffee, and not one employee helped pour it or at least manage the inconsiderate people who were reaching over me to pour their cups. The bagels were stale, the mini egg and cheese sandwich on whole grain bread was so greasy the oil/butter or whatever garbage it was they put in it literally leaked through the bag. Worst breakfast run experience of my life…

4 stars for the yummy ass soft serve ice cream smoothie. Even raspberry. lots of sour, on-point raspberry-flavored soft serve, blended with lots of fresh fruit(raspberry, blueberries). It’s $ 5 but it’s thick and filling. My bf got a hot coffee(caramel crème) which he liked a lot for its sweetness, and we shared the Blueberry Crumb Cake. It was really dry(perhaps because it’s not fresh out of the morning). It was big though and quite«crumby.» Maybe it’s because I don’t love crumb cake. The servers are nice, and the bathroom is clean. haven’t been to the one in East Hampton but this one’s charming in Sag Harbor.

Love this place mainly for the memories. My parents found this place a couple years ago and we would go in the mornings during the summer. It’s a bit overpriced but all the workers are friendly.

We’d noticed this mini-chain of cafes in several locations around the Hamptons but finally stopped in one afternoon in Sag Harbor. We were in need of some coffee and maybe a muffin and both were quite delicious. It was after lunch so the bulk of the rush was gone and we relaxed at a table. Refills were advertised as only $ 1 each but when we went up to pay, the manager waved away the money. It had started drizzling outside and we happily stayed, sipping hot beverages, nibbling on our muffins and enjoying our vacation. We’ll be back in the area again soon. We’ll be stopping in at the Golden Pear for more than just the coffee and muffins.

This Golden Pear sits where The Harbor Deli used to be and The Harbor Deli is sadly missed. When the first Golden Pear opened in Southampton in 1987 it was a welcome addition with new and freshly prepared food. This is before it expanded to four locations and 20 years passed. It is still fine, but truly nothing special and overpriced. The sandwiches and salads are fine, but they don’t rival how the 1987 version of the snap pea salad was prepared when there was only one location and a daily rotating menu. More than $ 10 for a sandwich that is not big and comes with a tiny side salad is just not worth it for what you get, both in size and quality. This location is also tiny. If it is crowded, it is impossible to navigate your way from where the drinks area is to the register. In the end, I prefer to go to Provisions, however that menu is not for everyone. The Golden Pear is a straight forward, mini-deli with less options. If you go there you will likely not be horribly disappointed nor overly excited about your experience.
