RUDE! Service was terrible. Dishes looked dirty. Food took forever and was NOT worth the wait. Only thing going for this place is it is CHEAP.

We love this place, it’s no fine dining but it down home cooking. Great food and friendly service. The manager can be a bit pushy towards new people but we go every weekend and the manager is the only one who doesn’t remember us. Trish is the best server with a sarcastic personally but will become your best friend and looks out for all her regulars and new customers alike. The whole restaurant can be empty and there is still a wait to sit in the back room where Trish serves.

Been eating at JR’s for awhile and the food is always good. Down home cooking that will fill you up and get you ready for the day. Sunday’s are busy, and the wait staff does their best but when it gets busy, give them a little patience. If you like crispy bacon, ask them to deep fry it:)

Needs to be thoroughly cleaned and updated! Food is great! Servers are so busy that coffee was slung all over our table and the next table. Our poor waitress was very overwhelmed!

I like this place. We live nearby and while it’s not a high end establishment, it’s a great place to come get an affordable local breakfast. The service feels like an old-school diner(in a positive way) and the food is good. If you’re in Saginaw, looking for a breakfast(or lunch/dinner though I have not tried yet) — give Jr’s a shot!

Newer to the area in October, my boyfriend and I were looking for a new breakfast spot. Since we moved to TX over 4 years ago, we haven’t been able to find a «normal breakfast»(eggs, meat, potatoes and toast) that felt like home and was a good value. Coming from Michigan you can get a «normal breakfast» at a Coney Island for $ 2.99 on the weekend before a certain time. Anyway… I Unilocaled breakfast spots and Jr’s popped up. We decided to go with no expectations and high hopes. Let me say this… Jr’s is our new breakfast spot… they have a «normal breakfast» that is normal priced… still more than Michigan, but I’m blaming rising food costs. The pricing is so reasonable, the food is good and feels like home cooking and the staff is just great. Not to mention Jr’s serve Community coffee, which we love! The staff works their behinds off and hussle through their shifts to make sure all of their tables are served and happy. If this review was based on staff services it would be beyond 5 stars if Unilocal let me rate higher. Seating is self-serve most of the time, but there sometimes is a list to get on when really busy. We opt to sit at the bar… we like to watch the action, engage in conversations with workers and sometimes you get lucky enough to be served a mess up because they don’t want to throw it out. Our favorite part about this place is it is a truly a neighborhood restaurant. The décor is down to earth and not glitz and glam, but that is what gives Jr’s the home feeling. This place makes us feel like we are back where we grew up and we will continue to patronize regularly.

This place is awesome! I always explode with joy when I find that local greasy spoon where everyone from the town derelict to the mayor just hang, bantering with each other; quite often, they turn out to be brothers or at least cousins. Now, I’m sitting at the counter, gorging myself with a breakfast burrito covered in salsa and listening to a diatribe about the boom and bust of the natural gas business. How awesome is that⁉ You better behave or the waitresses will slap you with their order-pads; but, don’t worry, they appear to be very forgiving. My coffee cup has yet to get below two thirds full. The food just spews forward through a little window were the legion of tough, battle hardened females relay it to the tabletops.

For a café, this place is really awful. We went for lunch and the food was horrible across the board. I had hamburger steak and it was so over cooked and dry that I could hardly cut it with a knife. Everything is so bland and tasteless. Their breakfast might be passable(how can you screw that up?), but I would never visit this establishment again.

First time trying this place. The grits were flavorless. I had to add salt n pepper to almost each bite. Butter also. The biscuits were delicious. Light n fluffy. Gravy is straight up gravy you put on ur chicken fried steak. OJ was not cold. The main thing I enjoyed about this place was that it is a NON smoking establishment.

I had the chicken fried steak, French fries, fried squash and a dinner salad. I would say overall it was just ok, and for 7.29 out was a decent value. This was our first time to eat here and I would try it again.

I ate here yesterday. Veggie omelette was ok, but the hash browns were overcooked and hard to eat, crunchy… Coffee and the service was ok. However, I had a brief peek on the backside of the kitchen from outside, stuff I have seen made me question the hygiene of this place… Just saying, I believe they need some inspection in the kitchen…

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. The biscuits and gravy for breakfast and smothered sirloin is my favorite. And you can’t beat the prices. Awesome.

This is best place we have found since we moved. Everything here is authentic from the food to staff to the patrons. You can tell people have been coming here for a long time and their are a lot of smiles and good conversation to be had. The food is great and the gravy… it’s better than my Memaw’s and thats saying something. The burger is the right thickness and taste like it came in from the backyard. Great fries and REAL biscuits! Now if we could only convince them to stay open past 2.

Good food, great prices, fast and friendly service, and ALWAYS crowded for breakfast. This is a great spot for breakfast. I have never eaten lunch here I am sure it is just as good if not better!

Mom and pop diner. One of the reviewers commented that you shouldn’t go here expecting IHOP. That«it’s food your Meemaw would make for you after church» — that hits the nail on the head. The place is cozy and hasn’t changed much with the times. A lot of local people who have probably lived in Saginaw much of their lives can be found here. I had the French toast and breakfast tacos and they were both good! My kids liked their breakfast tacos, too. For me to have French toast and tacos and my kids to have two tacos each, it cost $ 16. That’s pretty good! Service was excellent and I will definitely come back again. They had a list of the pies they sell on their wall and I definitely want to check out some of those in the near future.

Great little diner. I have only eaten breakfast here, but they seem to have yummy daily lunch specials. I love the French bread.

Diner style home cooking. Great prices. Fast service. You won’t be chatted up or bothered too much by the staff. It’s a to the point, place your order, eat and move on kinda place. Been there many times and taken food to go. Always pleased with what I order. Always crowded but I still get my food quickly.

Fav breakfast place! It’s a mom and pop style. Same crowd of people at the same time every weekend. The waitress staff is super friendly and treats you like a family whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time. They have the best french toast and some yummy hash browns. He’s ate the chicken fried steak before and loves it. We’ve never had a complaint about this place and we are now becoming regulars.

This place is awesome, we don’t come here very often because it is almost always crowded. But the food is great, tasty, an inexpensive. The service is polite and friendly with everyone being treated like family. Wife and I ordered eggs, hash browns, chicken fried steak, ham, and French Toast. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out quick. Don’t expect IHOP or Denny’s food here, this is what your Grandma, Memaw, or Nana would cook you on a Sunday morning after church! Love it!
