Can’t go wrong here with a corn on the cob, mixed with your choice of meat. Always enjoy the drive thru as well as the walk in. Great dive and priced to perfection. Staff works like a team!!!

Good barbecue. Nothing crazy to write home about. Good atmosphere, and the wait staff are polite and prompt. I could become a regular here.

The ribs and sliced meat are the way to go. Perhaps skip the sides and order just the meat.

Ordered up the Texas Fries to share with my wife and they were outstanding. I also ordered the sliced plate with slaw and potato salad, asking for lots of bark. The potato salad was good, as was the slaw. The brisket was a bit tougher than I expected it to be. Perhaps if I didn’t ask for the extra bark that might not have been an issue, but other places I have requested extra bark didn’t have the same issue. The atmosphere is typical BBQ beer joint. It was a little warm, in my opinion, we even requested they turn up the air at one point. Worth a return trip? I think so, especially for the Texas Fries.

Don’t come here for the ambience! The BBQ is top quality and smoked to perfection. I haven’t had a bad entrée yet and I’ve been eating here since 2006! It’s Texas BBQ at its best!

First time having lunch here gets really crowded but well worth the wait. Fast service and definitely good for your buck.

Best brisket I’ve had in a long time, melt in your mouth. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. If you love barbeque, you need to check this place out. Daily specials, cold beer and live entertainment after 5 p.m.

We had the chopped beef sandwich. A bit salty to our liking but tasty nonetheless. I’ll come back.

This is a bar. Period. End of story. A dive bar at that. The food is so, so. The service BLOWS! The layout of the bar is questionable at best. No servers, bar at one end, food trough at the other. After finding a pubic hair in the potato salad, I walked out in disgust.

Far better than any chain in the area. The wait can be a bit long, but the service is wonderful. I remember in the last that the interior is smoke filled, so we just stick to the drive thru!

Very friendly service and that’s about as far as I can go… Brisket was cut wrong so it was strongly and dry and way salty! Which I’ve never experienced. They keep all their meats in a hot box for God only knows how long because to sum up everything is dry and even thee toast is only tasted on one side the other side was cold and somehow wet?! Cheese fries were greasy and way too expensive for a few bites of stringy brisket and dry ribs and sausage. Also smoke smell wasn’t horrible but didn’t help. The place wasn’t full by any means yet there was tons of staff and dirty tables. Very disappointed because the reviews led me to believe something way different.

I call this place Smileys because of the big yellow smiley sign outside… this is the best place for a cold beer and some really good bbq! Been a fan for years! Go at least once a week now that I moved to Fort Worth. LOVEIT!!!

Great ribs here! We usually get the daily special. Sometimes the drive thru wait can be kind of long, but it’s worth it. The okra and fries have a sugar seasoning close to wing stops. The barbecue sauce is delicious !!!

Don’t bother. I kept hearing all this hype about this place. Sadly, still not a single decent sit down(non-fast food) restaurant to be found in Saginaw. The food was not worth the prices and the portions were soooooo small. The brisket was good as was the sauce. That’s it though. Anything else we tried we both did not like– baked beans(eh), potato salad(tasted like that pre-made yucky stuff you can get at a grocery store deli), BBQ stew(very weird taste– chicken and veggies but the spices were just no bueno… it managed to be too spicy for me AND too sweet for hubby). Regarding portions– we ALWAYS share an entrée when we go out to eat. Not because we’re cheap(well ok we are LOL but really not why in this regard) but because we want to limit our portions. And let’s be honest, most restaurants do over serve their patrons. This place though– it was literally a SPOON of beans and a SCOOP(like the size of a scoop of ice cream on an ice cream cone) of potato salad. When we split the sides I truly had 2 forkfuls of each side item. Tons of flies– as in flying around the food prep/serving area. The staff wasn’t friendly. They weren’t rude just not inviting or hospitable. And I mentioned twice it was our first time there(due to the questions I was asking, as way of apology/explanation). The manager who was taking my order(and to whom I said it was our first time there) didn’t really make any effort to explain things over the bare minimum or ensure I was wowed to feel like I might come back. We won’t be going back. It’s just not worth it at all. Our total– with sharing the triple meat plate and getting 1 water and 1 tea was $ 19. I was expecting way more because we love their other location(oyster bar on Western Center).

Texas Pit B-B-Q is the pits… At the Texas Pit B-B-Q you’ll get Dickies quality food(3 stars) in a dark dingie dining area with flies all over the place(1 star). I’m just feeling grateful that I’m not throwing up right now. This place is horrible. Anyone who is rating this place anything better than two stars does not know their barbeque. This place is… the pits!

The bar is nice and cool and amazing for an afternoon getaway for a few brewskis :) the food is tender beyond belief but it’s too dark in the building!

Friendly vibe! Look for the yellow smiley face that directs you toward the joint. I recommend the chopped beef sandwich. There are pickled jalapeños and Tabasco sauce out & ready for the taking. If you leave here hungry, there may be something wrong with you.

Not bad. The place gets PACKED during lunch hour. There is plenty of construction workers to fill up the spots, but the line moves fast so no worries there. The only problem is trying to find parking directly in front. Luckily I snagged a spot, but I’m not sure if there’s parking around the corner or next to the restaurant or something. I got myself a rib basket with fries and a chopped beef sammich. For $ 8, I got 4 bones of pork spares which I think was a good amount… and LOTS of fries. Those fries are seasoned heavily too. Tasty, but a tad too much on whatever seasoning that is. The flavor is legit, but I think a little less heavy would make them more enjoyable. The ribs were very smoky and tender. Had a nice flavor, but lacked a little moisture. Still good, so don’t skip on trying them. Before I found some good sauce like Blues Hog, I used to buy KC Masterpiece and mixed it with a little apple cider vinegar to cut it because I think KC on its own is way too sweet. The sauce they have here reminds me of the KC and apple cider mix that I make. Finally, the brisket sandwich. I asked for sliced brisket, but sliced MOIST brisket instead of the lean. What I got was chopped moist. OK, no problem. Brisket was extremely tender… like a bit overcooked tender. Lacked some beef flavor really, but good as part of the sandwich. Although I enjoyed the food, it’s really out of my way and I just wanted to cross something off the list. Doubt I’ll make the trip again unless I’m specifically in the area. They have a nice outdoor covered patio and live music at night, so could easily be a cool place to hang after some Q.
