We went for Valentine’s day dinner… it was OHMYGOODNESS perfect! They don’t do reservations, which I thought at first it was going to be a horribly long wait… it was not. We got there about 6pm, there were 3 other parties in front of us. The short woman with short black hair that was seating everyone offered that we could go next door for a drink while we waited, which we do did. She never took our name, wish I could remember hers, she was awesome and I hope they recognize that and keep her as an employee for a very long time. They were calling us back for our table at the same time the bartender was handing us our glasses of wine, perfect timing. The waitress was very attentive and helped us order exactly what we were looking for. The young man bussing tables was equally fantastic. He kept our water glasses full and would take our plates as soon as they were emptied. My boyfriend dropped one of his chopsticks and he had one to replace it before the one dropped finished bouncing on the floor. They were very busy, but the service never showed it. It was like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The owners take pride in their restaurant and employees by taking the time to be sure all of their employees are very well trained. You don’t get service like this every where.

My bride and I absolutely love Shoga! Everything we have tried has been both delicious and beautifully presented. Remarkably, the prices are also appealing, and we never have the feeling we have just been taken, as is often the case in other Sushi bars we have visited. The chefs are very helpful, and the staff has been superb. It looks like many others share our opinion, as Shoga is typically packed. It really is our«go-to» spot for visitors as well.

Shoga is one of my favorites. I’m always impressed from the moment I walk through the door-great customer service & wait staff. The Sushi here is so Amazing! My favorites are the Godzilla Roll, Green Goddess, & spicy California. The presentation is always fun & creative. The ambience is serene… with views of Lake Pend Oreille… and the best sunset view! We are so lucky to have this place here in Sandpoint! I won’t eat sushi anywhere else-be sure to check them out!

The wife and I had a nice dinner here during a visit to Sandpoint. The restaurant has a great water view, which we really enjoyed in the evening and around sunset. The fish was extremely FRESH. We had the sashimi and a couple of rolls and everything was spectacular. The service was friendly and the atmosphere inviting. We will be sure to return next time we are in the area.

Go for the sushi. Stay for the view. Holy moly, does Shoga have some prime real-estate. My boyfriend brought me here on a date night during our Idaho visit over the 4th of July, and we had the best time. There was a slight wait when we arrived, but we took that opportunity to walk around the area and out to the nearby docks. Once they were ready to seat us, we immediately put in an order for their edamame. Beware, it is packed with garlic flavor(pack some mints), but they are tay-steee. We then selected some rolls, all of which were delicious, but my favorite was the Summer Breeze(and how fitting for a beautiful July night). Absolutely wonderful experience all around, and the sunset view was the visual icing on the cake.

Best sushi in town, excellent atmosphere and view, super nice service, yummy rolls, lots of creative vegetarian options, perfect-sized kids rolls, to die for Edamame, full bar, and the sushi chefs are always very interactive with my curious 4 year old son.

we thought we would try one last time. Perviously the sushi was not fresh, but the staff was friendly. this time Faith N. and Karlee P. changed our mind. they were the best and Karlee even remembered us and our wine preference, the sushi was fresh and delicious. We are still on our guard. We shall try again

We’ve had nothing but wonderful sushi and great service here on several occasions. Enjoy the real crab in the CA Rainbow Roll and try the yummy, spicy Red Dragon. Ask for your gyoza pan instead of deep fried. The huckleberry mojito is a refreshing – and not too sweet – treat in the summertime, too!

I’ve become a regular here and sadly, it’s hit and miss. I’ve gotten cold miso soup, and cold wontons and neither are good cold. Hot, however, they are delicious. They also run out of ingredients all the freaking time from tea to soy paper. Constantly changing the menu to reflect what they aren’t out of. It’s really unprofessional and inconvenient. I also don’t find the staff overall friendly for what this small town is used to. They won’t make custom rolls(no matter how simple or complex) if they’re the least bit busy. The main chef complains about how much he works so I’ve stopped sitting at the sushi bar. There are a couple amazing waitresses but mostly not so much. If you go on the half off day make sure you order in the right order… We got 4 rolls(two expensive and two not) and they gave us the $ 5 rolls half off because we ordered them«last». A good waitress would put the order in your favor if it’s all about how they enter it in the computer. This is no longer my number one place to come on date night. I’ll be becoming a regular at a few other local places instead.

Losing my enthusiasm for this place. The service is inconsistent and they seem to have a hard time keeping the miso soup hot, and certain items in stock. Add strange hours to the mix and I’m just frustrated. When it’s a hit, it’s a hit… When it’s a miss, it’s a big miss. Feeling bummed to see such a great place be so… Inconsistent. That’s all I can really say… Fortunately that’s something that can be fixed, and this review turned around. The food is often fantastic.

I’m a local and was in there the other night with my family. Our waitress was helpful and friendly, and the sushi was excellent! If you like a little spice, try the South of the Border Roll :) The only thing that struck me a little odd is that they were serving processed ginger(pink?). I would have preferred to see a natural ginger — it made me question other ingredients used. If I’m going to pay a premium price for a roll…

What a great spot. The sushi was fabulous, the atmosphere was wonderful(sat outside on the patio overlooking the lake) and the service was excellent. Prices were decent as well. We will definitely be back.

This is the best sushi I’ve found in North Idaho. Coming from the Portland, OR area, I’ve had some great sushi, and this is just as good! You can’t beat the view, or the service. Wine/drink list is wonderful, too. Like them on Facebook, and you’ll see the specials as they fly in!

Sushi in northern Idaho… This rivals some of the phenomenal places is Seattle. Travis is not to be missed if your craving sushi in the north, ask him to surprise you with something. Open for Lunch & Dinner regardless of what Unilocal says Very friendly staff. incredible lake views from the outdoor deck and a few tables inside.
