I’m still laughing… I never in my 75 years thought that I would be writing about a food truck. Well let me tell you — this food truck sits near the Pecan Store in Sahuarite — and it is fantastic. The food is fabulous and they make it fresh for you. You can add something to the dish — or ask them to hold something — you get it just the way you want it. They sell soda in the cans and they have a few tables where you can sit and savor your food. Do stop by… I know they are there Monday thru Friday but I’m not sure about Saturday/Sunday. This is the place to go for lunch …

Living in Tucson, I’ve found my fair share of good and bad Sonoran Hot Dogs joints. That being said… if you’re ever in Sahuarita, you most definitely should check out El Checo. It’s a little place next to the pecan farm and gets pretty regular business from the locals and construction workers passing through. The Sonoran dogs are pretty standard in terms of ingredients, but always have been fresh and delicious. What’s interesting is they feature an avocado slice rather than a spread. Pretty tasty! The have pretty good deals on tacos as well! So next time you are looking for a tasty treat south of Tucson, give them a shot. Oh and take cash, no credit accepted.

Tiny food truck for the pecan grove workers. Simple authentic Mexican lunch spot. They have Mexican soda in glass bottles so you know it’s legit.
