OK, this was a disappointment. Here there is this huge Pecan orchard and a Pecan processing facility. No tour and this really tiny store. Others talk about samples? well, I didn’t see any. It’s a 40×40 store with pecan related items on the shelf. There was a old TV on top of some shelving and I presume playing information about pecan harvesting and processing. Basically, walked in, looked around and left. I was expecting a lot more.

We’ve been here twice. The pies are quite tasty. The prices are reasonable on the coffee. In fact everything is reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor and try some of the free samples. I suggest you come check out this nice quaint place.

Went for a drive today and saw this place one of the many times I have seen it but finally decided to go in and it is a nice little shop with friendly people a little pricey but very good and they offer free samples which is nice. We got an 8oz of white chocolate pecan bark for $ 10.50 it is so good but rich. It was a little expensive for such a small amount but it was so good and is from here which is nice to help out a place that is locally owned. So if you are ever out for a long drive and run across this place stop by and take a look around and try something it is worth it and so good.

My Christmas order was back ordered also. I simply went in and I was truly impressed by the response I received. They were very nice in the store today and Shannon really helped me out. I understood the delay after she explained it to me. Amazing samples and cute stuffed squirrels. Could be a bigger store and no public restrooms. :-/meh.

what a cool operation. this place is a great local shop to be supported. construction outside is almost done… its a little pricey but fantastic. ask for the wood chips for your smoker. pecan wood is the best.

This is a great place for local flavor and gifts! It’s a tiny store with so many delights! I got a pecan praline candy that was melting in my mouth delicious! We also got a chocolate pecan pie. It wasn’t as good as the one I had the other day at Oak Alley Plantation near Baton Rouge, but it was GOOD! I also purchased some pecan spiced honey butter, and I haven’t tried it yet, but oh man! I can hardly wait! My mom loved her pecan brittle, and dad liked his cinnamon pecans. Are you seeing the variety yet? They also had samples of pecan tea(good, but needed sugar/sweet and low and more ice) and prickly pear tea(not so good — I don’t think sugar would fix it, even the kid working there said he didn’t like it). If they had k — cups of the pecan coffee, the hubby would have been sold on it! He had some in Texas the day before and said it was great! My only complaint or suggestion is the same as a previous reviewer– friendlier staff. How about a hello when you walk in? An offer to help you find something? An explanation of what they have? Anything? When we were purchasing he was finally talking to us and we then discovered a discount for locals(dad) and saved 10%, paying for my pecan spiced honey butter! Score! The prices of some things are a little high, but certainly not outrageous, and exactly what you would expect to find in a cute little out of the way store like this! Enjoy your visit! If you like pecans, it is a MUSTSEE! !

This place is pretty awesome. Don’t listen to these whiny reviews by people who are too cheap to buy locally-grown, fresh food. This is not mass produced Walmart junk. The Pecan Store, surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of pecan trees, is a true gem in this area. The trees make the area very picturesque, and the store itself is interesting. It is small, but it has quite a variety of pecan-related treats. The candies are excellent, and they’re cheaper here than retail at say, AJ’s, who sometimes sells them. My favorite candy, which I crave all the time, is the chocolate covered toffee pecan thingies. They are so yummy! And addicting, so it’s a good thing I live so far away! I really like the quality of the chocolate they use. It’s not that cheap waxy-like chocolate that you get with a lot of national brands at the supermarket. It’s rich and flavorful. And they don’t skimp in covering any of the candies in said chocolate. The pecans always taste fresh. They have probably a dozen or so different candies, so I think there’s probably something for everyone! You’ll also find other items, including coffees, pies, nuts, even salsas! It’s really a great place to buy local gifts. We haven’t tried the pies yet, but they look outstanding. I wish their hours were a little longer on Saturdays so we could drop in for treats and pies after we have dinner in the area and are on the way home. I also wish the staff was a bit friendlier and more helpful. They really don’t interact with you at all, which is a shame for a place like this. It’s a small store, it should feel a lot warmer than it is. This is an easy fix, so hopefully someone reads this and trains the staff a little better. Just being acknowledged would go a long way. I drove really far to get here, I want to feel somewhat appreciated. It would also be nice to be offered a sample of some of the candies and nuts. Overall though, when we’re in the area and they’re open, we’ll make sure to head in for a treat or two!

I dropped by on a whim and left after spending $ 45 on candy, coffee and nuts. There are so many tempting treats to purchase, and multiple pecan variety trays under a glass counter ready to mail out. They also had several refrigerated cases with pecan and chocolate pecan pies. I wish I knew they sold pies beforehand, as I live too far away to get one home without a cold bag. After looking at their catalog, they charge the same in store as their catalog. After I dropped all that money, I noted all sorts of samples cups behind the counter organized by flavor, but I nor my companions were offered any despite my agonizing over which to choose with my husband. I got a sample tray, of which I ate a significant portion before getting to Tucson. They also offer jellies, sauces and coffee & tea by Arbuckles. The product quality at Green Valley Pecan Store is high here, I just wish they might give slightly better customer service to in store customers; I got the feeling I surprised the two men who were manning the store.

I visit this store every time I visit friends in Sahuarita and I frequently send gifts to relatives back home in Michigan. My trip to this area would not be complete without a stop at the Pecan Store. Yes, the prices are high but quality costs. Of course I could get pecans at Sam’s Club or some other big box store but who knows where they came from, how they were processed, or the degree of quality. I’d rather pay a little more and know that what I am getting is a quality«made in the USA» product. If you are not a connoisseur of quality then continue to go to the big box stores.

Well, I must be shopping at a different Green Valley Pecan Store than the other reviewer. We have shopped there many times, in person, and sent gifts from there every Christmas. We adore some of their specialty products — brittles, candies, chocolate covered nuts, etc. and also the flavored pecans. Just delicious. It seems to me that the prior reviewer thought this would be a bargain-basement seller, which it is not. It is a high quality(at least it has been for us) specialty store with delicious products. Yes, if you want volumes of inexpensive pecans, you can probably do that at Costco. If you want remarkable specialty products, this is the place. I will continue to be a great customer.

I agree. At a time when none of us has much money, it would be great if they had a large«broken pieces» package so that even us who are not millionaires could enjoy a pecan from time to time. I have had better and cheaper pecans from Costco.

There are extensive pecan groves in this area, and a store connected to a pecan processing plant. You would think you would get good deals on fresh high-quality pecans. At the least you would expect high-quality pecans. Unfortunately, Green Valley Pecan Store did not deliver, at least not for me. The salted pecans I bought were relatively expensive, and worse they were over-roasted, dry and with a burnt taste. The praline pecans were crusted with a very hard sweet but otherwise tasteless coating that didn’t melt in my mouth — ever. The pistachios were fine, but I’m guessing they don’t grow them here. Now here’s an oddity: they make pecan pies and chocolate pecan pies. Regular sized pies were around $ 14, high but not outlandish. But they also had very small ones, suitable for a single portion. They were $ 8. That comes to about $ 2 a bite. Come on. The store itself is small but well organized and clean(thus the second star — I am trying to be charitable). Unilocal also lists a store called simply«The Pecan Store» and indicates it is closed. As of this date, however, Green Valley Pecan Store is definitely open.
