One of the best collections of boards for sale I’ve seen. They have so many surfboards to choose from here and so much variety! It’s not just a big pile of white short boards like most FL shops, they have all kinds and sizes. I loved seeing all the beautiful, fancy longboards — Bing, Takayama, etc. The people working there were laid back, but friendly and helpful. I’d happily make the drive to shop here for my next board.

Well let’s see how long have I been going to the Surf Station. Oh maybe 25 – 30 years or pretty much as long as they have been in business. I have watch them grow from a little gas station to this current store size with a Girl’s next door shop included. It was a small eatery at one point I believe. They a long time ago had a skate ramp/half pipe join the parking lot. We were working down in the area another skater friend of mine. We saw that and had to stop in. having enough beers in me I asked to use one of these little whipper snappers skate. Then I heard from the kook gallery let the old man go. That was it with a push I was off and show them boys a thing or two. I didn’t even walk away with anything broken, thank god. The place is jammed packed full of brand new surfboards and everything and surf wannabe needs. Baggies, leaches, flip flops, wax, I’m sure if you look hard enough you can even find a how to somewhere. Now I don’t surf much being old, fat, and out of shape. But, it is nice to go inside every now and then and hell I might even be in one of the old pictures on the wall. Later Brahha

Zach was fantastic! Helped with a trade on a biard that just wasn’t working for me. Got me set up with what I really wanted painlessly. Thanks!

Some of the people there were really knowledgeable and friendly, others were not so straight forward when it came to surfing advice. The first night that we stopped by, they were very talkative and gave great tips and opinions about the waves. We were pumped and decided to rent boards from them later in the week. Unfortunately, when we came to rent boards, they were nice but it felt very awkward and they were definitely not as helpful as we expected. For example, when we asked about which beaches they recommended, the guy evaded our question with pretty generic responses without actually giving us any specific recommendations or locations at all. When we rented boards, the guy gave us straps to latch the boards onto the car and just said«have fun» without offering to help us put the boards on, even when we told him we were beginners. When we asked him over for assistance, he didn’t know how to do it. In the end my girlfriend figured it out and he just left the latch and informed us he didn’t latch it… leaving it to my girlfriend. It wasn’t really a big deal at the time but I think it says a lot.

Cool place, loved the old school nostalgia. Good selection of clothes and boards. Lots of people in the store. Bought a couple shirts and my daughter got one too. They have a couple places that serve food in the parking lot. The reviews said they are good but I didn’t eat anything.

I recently purchased a board online from surfstation. Not only was it a great price but the customer service was as good as it gets. From start to finish the team made every extra effort. Even the owner reached out to me as a random audit to ensure the service met expectations. Good businesses care about customer service, great businesses care about people. The overall experience made me feel that this shop valued my purchase and cared about its customers. There’s a reason why the shop has been around for 30 years! Give them a shot

After this review posted, I got an email from Tory, the owner who apologized for the less than stellar experience at his shop. I really commend business owners for stepping up and showing that they care. So while I had a not-so-awesome visit the first time, I would shop here again, because everyone has bad days and it’s pretty clear that the experience I had here was not the norm. Went in here with my hubs before a trip to the beach to check for some longer board shorts. He’s a tall fella and isn’t into the whole Daisy Duke look. We asked the dude at the counter where we could find something longer, and he just kind of pointed and mumbled us into the general direction of the back wall which to find«all their trunks.» Mind you, after walking around for several minutes, we discovered that there is not just one location for swim trunks, they were on racks all over the store. And the biggest size they carry is a 38 and we only found like 4 pairs of those. I also thought they were overpriced.($ 50+ for a pair of trunks that the shite velcro closure will wear out on in 1 month.) I guess maybe I don’t «get» the whole surfer vibe, but I felt like I was a nuisance every time I asked someone a question. And one of the girls on staff(or a staff member’s friend? I don’t know, she acted like she knew the staff pretty well) almost walked into me or in front of me and stood directly in front of things I was looking at like four times in the total of 20 minutes I was in the store.

I stopped by once again while en route form St Augustine down to Crescent Beach and Surf Station is as awesome as ever. Great selection of surfwear, tees, boardshorts, and decent selection of skateboards but the real deal is their expansive selection of Channel Islands surfboards – supposedly the largest on the east coast and I’d believe it. Andrew F’s comment(see his review) on the staff being disinterested never has reflected my own experience and I’ve been here many, many times. The kids who work here are surfers, chill, and low-key. They won’t come and follow you around and try to show you stuff, but if you need help tell one of them and they’ll certainly be helpful. I needed a shirt brought down from its perch on a display far far up in the air(I’m 6’2″ and couldn’t reach it so…) and I told a girl working here and she very gladly got a pole to fetch it down with for me. No problem there. They still have their two cats roaming around the place and they sponsor events like surf film premires – the one they had last year for Innersection was an awesome event – and the love the local core surf community has for Surf Station is very obvious. I think they’re doing things just fine.

Great stop for the Surfer in You, best selection of garments, boards, and suits on the island… nice selection of private label product as well as national brands… guys and gals in the shop were very helpful, energetic, and informative… if you’re on the island, this is definitely a landmark you don’t wanna miss… on the way off the island, make sure you stop at Mojo’s Tacos to fill the«after beach» munchies

Great place, helpful people. So nice that Nalus Tacos is in the parking lot! That got an extra star.
